The Dutch videogaming site PS3Clan posted "brand new" New Vegas posters. Going in figuring they would be fanmade, but to my surprise they look legit, offering high resolution shots of the NCR helmet and the mafia Vault Boy.

The good ol' gasmask guy still don't look too Fallout-y to me (yes, I know about the description of Tycho), think some of it has to do with the red light. But looking at the picture, I must say I quite like it on its own.

It shall be my new background for a while.

I always imagined Tycho as having an S-10 Gas Mask.
It's also nice to see Vault Boy not drawn like crap, was looking over some F3 perks today and jeez.

I still think "Killzone" every time I see that character... they should have tried to make it more original.

Killzone is hardly original in this regard.

Didn't you know? The original designers for gas masks got their ideas from playing Killzone on the old Babbage Difference Engine.

They certainly look good, but I can't use them due to the thought that a Bethesda fanboy is probably using them as a wallpaper too. :X

Anyway, Vault Boy looks much better in this drawing than before, it brings me back memories from the New Reno's reputation perks from Fallout 2.

Yeah... because the original gas-masks had coloured backlights!!

And if you can't see the similarity with this:

Then you need to get some glasses. Even the angle of the head is similar.

I had to resize the NCR chap to get more orange fog on the left for designated icon space but I'm using that one for a while. Great wallpaper.

And, samothetheif... you don't have to take every opportunity to rip on "fanboys" when you seem to be an Interplay fanboy yourself. I enjoyed FO1>FO3>FO2 and yet, I am using these wallpapers. Keep your clouded judgements to yourself, please.

What bothers me about the googled helmet image is that it is so in your face. It's a front view, just like the box art for FO 3 was a front view, it's aggressive and scary, just like their business model. It's saying: "I'm coming for ya!"

Similar iconic images of the old games are usually sideway views: a classic pose, pensive, mysterious, serene. It's a completely different atmosphere.

I'll always find somethink to complain about. :)

I don't really expect this to be the box art. I think they'll capitalize on the New Vegas region. Maybe a great money shot of the Vegas strip.

They might use an NCR Ranger but it'd be sharp if they put him in front of a dilapidated landmark. In any light, they should use a whole body shot of the Ranger with the cape blowing like the teaser.

I think box art aside, damn good point. I think unfortunately you're not going to win over too many converts

Well, that armor looks like a cross-over of Power Armor and Advanced Power Armor with a western flavour to it. Can't say I adore it, but it is rather good-looking (well-executed. at least). I hope it will replace any Power Armor suits in-game, I'm so tired of those and all the balance issues regarding them.

Also, judging by the Vault Boy wallpaper I can say there'll be Tommy Gun and Fallout 3's laser rifle present. Ugh, I hate the design of these.

There is also a mini nuke on there. :silenced:
