Fallout of Nevada

Well, I used Czech-Russian one when I played FO1,5: Resurrection, so I guess we're even now :D

Actually, 5 new OSTs are going to appear in FoN v1.0. If you tried to play it, you know what I am talking about - it's awesome.
If anyone is interested, I can upload the in-game music somewhere (I guess people here have already ripped it from the game, but just in case).

I would very much appreciate it, especially if you could upload it in some widely supported format as mpeg or so. That'd be great!

Hi ! My name's Tandi ! (no that's not !)

I was afraid that all of you were gone before I could thank for this gigantic work so many of you gave for translating fallout Nevada.

If I'm here it's of course because I don't speak any word of russian, I barely speak english furthermore.

I got many questions. And I hope many of you could answer them : (plz !)

-Does that translation can work with fallout 1.0.0 ?

I replaced the folder named "english" in the vanilla fallout nevada game, still not working though, I am currently trying to use the translation on the 0.99B but I'm pretty I am not doing it the right way.

I wasn't able to use the basic FoN.Exe because the patch U.S is not allowed by the game ? I don't understand why :(, But I can launch the Nevada HD.Exe, which work, but only the word on the main menu are in english (I used the folder named Translation ALL.)

(By the way Lexx. The job you've made for Shattered destiny is awesome, a bit hard because I never use the gifted and because I use a charisma boy, but that was still awesome !)

Thanks for all the time you've given onto that great game !

Not dead, though at times it felt like I would die before gazing upon these words "1.0 release".

Apparently the Fallout Nevada mod 1.0, has been released this march. (Offical link)

Even though I can read\understand Russian, I would appreciate an English translation as well. I suppose that depends on how many Russian-English Fallout veterans still around..

Well. I tried each translation and none of them work, I just dunno what's wrong...

The google translation was based on a (very) old version of the mod, so obviously it won't work with the 1.0.

Anyway, I've played a bit with a google translation I've made for myself and I have to say the mod is absolutely fantastic - such a pity that it's not going to be translated (at least afaik).

Those who play with google translation can post their translation issues here. I guess I can at least help with providing more or less correct translation of some phrases to English.

I went for online translation too since there was no new info about "ofc" EN translation for years now:mrgreen: G*.*gle translation has improved over the years, less headbanding nowdays :wall: but still...
Keep up the good work, слава.

Edit: 23.6.2015

No need for new post, just an update. This may be pretty much irrelevant because it's an "independent project" of sorts:ugly:, but i'll share it with you anyways. I've been doing (translating V1.0) this for my own amusement, few days now, and couldn't miss a great opportunity to upgrade my knowledge of Russian:revolution:, since elementary school. So far i've translated "texts" with online tools, both dialogs and game texts, .msg files only. It's so raw it may hurt your stomach if you eat it now but it tastes better if you cook it for a long time:mrgreen: I'll continue doing this, for "fun" as long as i think it's worth the effort. If anything interesting comes up here until the next century, i'll post it .:wiggle:

Well, to be honest I was pleasantly suprised by the results. It's not even close to what i'd call a good translation, obviously, but I've rarely found a sentence whose meaning I couldn't understand at all - some years ago I did the same thing with The Precursors (when the official translation still wasn't available) and the results were much worse: the translation was so unbearably bad I couldn't understand a thing.

One hour hmm.. I am pretty sure I already spent more then 20 and I am not past the middle ..

Oh boy, this day can't possibly get better! :D
1.0? REALLY?!
Does this also mean there is an English translation? I don't care if it's polished or not (well, of course it'd be better if it is), I'll be dead happy if there is enough to understand the dialogues.

Previous posters said they manged to get adequate results with google translate, but as far as i know no one has got the ball rolling on an English translation, yet...

No, no english translation planned as far as I know. It's a real shame because, even with the awkward google translated dialogues, this is actually one of the best RPGs I've played in ages. The quest design is absolutely fantastic (the almost total lack of pure fetch quests is also very, very welcome) and the amount of consequences to choices you make can really get very surprising at times.

I read about using Google Translate, but I kind of assumed they did it to make the translation in files. I can't think of a way to copy-paste the text from Fallout game, and certainly don't know all of the Unicode code for the symbols.

Well, here is a future player when that is ready :)
I did a bit of playing with it a few years ago to try it and the game itself looked and felt really great (I think I said it then, but I'll say it again: you got a fan just with the opening video and song), but it became impossible for me to understand the dialogs way too soon :(
