Fallout- Old Glory

The Deathclaw looks at the radscorpions, then you. It weighs up the options. Seeing that the radscorpions are in a bigger group and therefore a larger threat, it charges, at the group. The irradiated arachnids back away, knowing better than to take on a creature that is 200 lbs heavier than them. The Deathclaw is distracted. Will you run? Or do you think you and the radscorpions will do enough to kill it?

He let out a deep breath of relief, he thought to himself what pride it would bring him to kill the most feared beast in the wastes, but then again it was a risk that could very well cost him his life plus he was sure someone from the town surely heard the loud roar it gave. He weighed his options and then knelt behind the beast and aimed carefully then fired his crossbow hoping to hit the tendon on the back of the deathclaws left foot and therefore throw it off balance and give him more of a fighting chance.

"Alert! Hostile on the perimeter!" GU-DR blurted out at the sound of the deathclaw's roar. Jacob threw aside his meal and stood up, drawing his plasma rifle from it's place on his back and heading in the direction of the roar. Jacob groaned with disdain

"Just fucking great, deathclaws. I would have preferred raiders."
Jacob said, nevertheless heading towards the source of the sound. Once in sight of the deathclaw fighting radscorpions Jacob crouched down and leveled the sights of his rifle at the gigantic reptile. He spoke to his robot, telling it to aim for the right leg once it was done fighting the scorpions.

The bolt hits the tendon of the deathclaw. To the creature, it is barely more than a pin prick, but it is enough for it to turn around to see what pricked it. Just then, one of the radscorpions jabs its tail at the creature. The stinger does penetrate the skin, and the Deathclaw roars as the venom paralyses its leg. It swipes at the smaller scorpion, and its claws cut through hide and take one of the legs off. The radscorpion has no time to move before the Deathclaw finishes it off, stamping on it with its foot. The Deathclaw then turns around, ready to kill the man who had annoyed it. It limps towards him, not seeming to care its left leg has stiffened and won't move. Slow from the venom, a head shot from jacob might be possible, but unlikely.

Uriel threw the crossbow to the side and crouched on both his feet slowly and carefully manouvering backwards drawing his spear and holding it tightly in front of himself but not too far out to allow the creature to grab it and throw him around, He bided his time waiting for the opportunity to jab at its heart or throat and push with his weight forward and possibly pushing it over allowing him to finish the job with his broad knife.

"What the hell?" Jacob said when the crossbow bolt hit the deathclaw's leg. Combined with the poison the deathclaw could only limp towards the one who had shot it. He gave a little shake of his head and aimed at the deathclaw's back. "Keep firing until it goes down!" He ordered GU-DR, and the two unleashed a barrage of plasma at the abomination.

The plasma bolts hit the Deathclaw. A hide that has stopped bullets and shrapnel is like paper to the plasma bolts. The Deathclaw roars in pain, and turns around. Several more plasma bolts hit it. The Deathclaw takes one more step, before melting and falling to the flaw as a puddle of green goo. All that are left are the radscorpions. There are 21 radscorpions, and between Jacob, Uriel and the rest of the group, they shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Uriel watched as his ultimate prize melted before his eyes, he was met by shock and disbelief, he was so ready to accept the challenge that would make him the best hunter or kill him, He clutched his spear and gritted his teeth in anger but it quickly subsided when he saw that he was still faced with a pack of riled Radscorpions, he stood up and pulled himself together and charged at the pack fully intent on slaughtering them to the last beast.

Jacob got back to his feet once the deathclaw lost structural integrity and turned his attention to the radscorpions. There were a fair amount but they weren't all that big and would go down easily enough. Jacob slung his rifle across his back once more and readied his Glock 86. With it he started taking potshots at the nearest scorpion.

GU-DR meanwhile switched over to it's flamer and charged towards the family of scorpions to unleash burning American justice.

Edward pulls out his rifle, and takes shots at the scorpions. One of the radscorpions flails about as one of the bullets hits it in the eye. Several more hit it in the midsection, and some get past the hide. Its muscles spasm some more, and then it dies. The scorpion jacob is shooting at isn't as badly hurt due to the fact Jacob is using a pistol, but then GU-DR burns it with its flamer. The Mr. Gutsy then proceeds to do the same to the other scorpions, killing a fair amount, leaving 17 radscorpions left. The others back away, scared by the fire spewing robot.

Uriel used his spear fiercely pinning a scorpion to the ground running it through with one strong thrust and then he drew his knife holding it pinned with the spear and dodging its tail he grabbed it under his armpit and cut it off with a slash from his knife and then he brought himself down running the knife into its brain killing it completely. He turned towards the robot and took a good look at it and the man that stole his prize and Edward who was shooting at the scorpions on the side. He walked over to his crossbow and picked it up and loaded a new bolt into it from a quill on his hip and aimed at Jacob with a rage in his heart his hands shaking, he knew that his loss was merely due to poor timing but yet he still felt enraged for him so easily just coming along and robbing him of his victory or a honourable death.

Jacob failed to notice the trapper loading his crossbow to take aim, he was too focused on the scorpions. GU-DR seemed to be driving them back with it's flamethrower, so Jacob took the chance to reload his gun, putting in a new energy cell into the pistol before taking aim once more. Jacob slowly walked towards the scorpions in order to have a better chance at covering his robot's blind spot. "Anyone got a grenade?" Jacob asked "That would probably finish this off pretty quick."

Edward fired at the scorpions, before he noticed a trapper aiming a crossbow. It was a few seconds beforehe realised the man was aiming at Jacob. he raised his rifle, shouting,"Drop the crossbow! Now!"

He did not look away from Jacob nor did he lower the crossbow still not quite decided on will he fire or not, it was a good six seconds before he lowered the weapon and begun walking away towards the wasteland acting as tho he forgot about the radscorpions but figuring they were dead anyway so he left them all be.

Edward watches confused as the man silently walks away, having apparently forgotten about the radscorpions. He turns back to them and starts shooting.

Jacob had frozen in place when Edward called out the man with the crossbow, and a quick glance had shown that he had been aiming at Jacob. Once the man turned away he resumed shooting at the scorpions. He glanced towards Edward, and with a twinge of humiliation said "Thanks for that."

Chameleon having relished in the deathclaw's death. had fought off quite a few radscorpions. Unsheathing his blades, he cut two down with ease and stuck another into one's skull. He was rather triumphant, but relished no glory from these kills. He spotted the would-be Uriel.
"Well, what are you waiting for? It takes a big man to kill another. You got the balls kid?" After the matter had subsided, he went to Jacob.
"Well well, how's ya pride? Scathed? I wouldn't worry about it, you see..." Then he talked a rather long story of how he met his first wife Gloria. Including missiles and bullets, plus the killing of a rat. After he finished, he simply said:
"Now I'm here, with a bunch of dupes. But company I can appreciate, without having to kill them for once. Hahaha!"

A radscorpion took the oppurnity to snap at Chameleons leg with its pincer. The pincer manages to draw blood, and Chameleon curses silently, and wished he hadn't ignored the radscorpions that were right in front of him.

Uriel had walked up a dusty hill and looked back down onto the chaos and continued back towards his home which was a mile eastwards from them leaving tracks that could be followed he forgot in his state to hide them, he set his crossbow in the back by his bedroll and sat down by the fire pit and sighed and decided to call it a day.

Jacob listened to Chameleon's story, and cocked an eyebrow. "I find it hard to believe you were ever married" Jacob said, and shot the radscorpion that dug it's claw into the other mercenary's leg. He looked in the direction that the man with the crossbow had walked off in. "Who here thinks we should chase him down and kill him before he comes back with friends?"
