Fallout Tactics... What's wrong with it?

Is that your bases for not liking a game that came out before FO3 or just a general statement?

That was a general statement following a discussion about the Power Armors on the previous page...

Pretty much, but not completely, they didn't catch that proportion... the over-sized shoulder pads, the cape, you know the details, and IIRC only the tesla armour looked similar to the Mid west BoS PAs, and the tesla armour is not a power armour. :?

For a second there I thought you meant that the hellfire looks like the Mid west BoS PAs, boy that is kind-of a insult xD.

Well, the Tesla Armor is just a regular Enclave PA with some added bits and sparkly effects.

And hell no, I really don't like the Hellfire armor so I would never make that comparison :P

I don't really think the tesla armour should be a PA at all, I mean the previous Fs was just an armour, and F3 is simply trampling what has been set by te previous games and tha'ts one of the things I don't approve of.

I enjoyed tactics, you need to appericate it for what it was. Nothing more and nothing less.
What bugged me was the lack of animations for some really basic things (like weapons) every weapon looked the same, but that wouldn't be as bad if my melee weapons had their own thrust//stab animations like Fallout 1 & 2 did.
now other then that, The lack of RPG elements was disappointing but it wasn't an RPG so I think personally that was acceptable.
I think Tactics was and IS a very enjoyable game, and my CH was allowed to be crap cause I never used it.

I would not say that, you CHA may not be used manually, it's passive. With the CHA stat you gain ranks faster and higher ranks give you the opportunity to recruit better characters. If that's not enough it affects your bargains as well. I bet you already know that, but you sounded pretty sure that you're not using it at all in the quote I used.

And one more thing nobody forbid you from having a low charisma score, you can have whatever CHA score you like.

Unless you want a team full of "pretty faces" I don't think CH is that important.

There's a bunch of good initiates like Rebecca and Brian.

Jax is shit.

I never said I wanted a team of "pretty faces" I always lower my CHA score to 4 and Stich had the highest CHA score, of 5. I have never had it higher than 5.

The fact that nobody considers it an important statistic, including Lucas. and me doesn't make the stat any less important.

I would appreciate it if you take it easy with the compliments as I meant to piss off nobody. Honestly!

I'm not trying to piss off anybody.

What I meant is that you can still have a decent squad even with low CH.

I always keep my CH at 5 to avoid getting ranks too slowly.

I had my CHA at 2 and I did just great with Farsight, Stitch, Rebecca, Rage and Stevie.

I keep my CHA at 2 in Fallout as well. It really doesn't do that much in there either.

Oh, I know what CH affects in Tactics, but for me my team opens up pretty quickly.
The first time I played tactics I chose a default character "Betty" I think, her ST score was so low I couldn't use heavy weapons when I was fighting mutants, or robots. I have since had much better luck by obviously making my own characters..

Sephis pointed out the main flaw the lack of RPG elements was disappointing. And as squad based game, it didn't come close to Jagged Alliance 2. Then there was the over simplification and lack of replay value. I have started many new games in Tactics, but the first vanilla campagin maps are so boring. Thus I lose interest and go to play JA2 v1.13. But the sad thing is, it had potential, nice art and backstory. Another thing is how hard it is to mod it, sure there are few, but not that many as say compared to F2 or F3.

I've only just started playing Fallout tactics, and i's pretty fun when the AI isn't being completely fucking retarded. And the encounter rates. Jesus fucking christ am I tired of running into forty fucking encounters when trying to walk across two grids. Hell, sometimes I can't even take two steps before it forces me into an encounter.

Yeah, that's annoying, especially when you're cruising around in a vehicle and you get those maps with all the stumps and stones.

In my last playthrough I didn't patch the game so I got the duplication bug: mighty handy to duplicate the books that raise Outdoorsman, 'cause that'll allow you to skip random encounters (which is a good thing).

I hate preparing and equipping my squad to go to a mission, only to discover two behemoths on my way there. It just fucks up all your micromanagement.

I might find a way to un-patch my game; I got the triple pack from interplay and the patch was applied by default. I'd love to have high Outdoorsman. Although, it'll still stack up the encounters before i can move five feet. I kept getting DO YOU WISH TO ENCOUNTER LAME SHIT > NO X5 right on top of each other until it would force me to fight the encounter. then I' just leg it out of there. THen, repeat.
