Fan Film

heh
sorry, i didn't pay ANY attention to the roman numerals there
i just thought the original clip looked nice and composited the VT logo on it

if you're looking for specific clips in this, ask
i can only give the filenames though
i didn't save the download location
maybe you can search with the filename
but i can tell that most shots of destruction was of WW2 aftermath and hiroshima and some nuke documents

clips used in the mid-war sequence were
Manageme1958_25kb.mp4 - airforce training clip(i think) called 'management of mass casualties'
Dividean1943_4.avi (also the children and mothers) - this clip was called 'divide and conquer' - it had several episodes, this was the fourth
DontBeaS1947.avi - this was a warning documentary about how nazi germany came about - called "don't be a sucker"

all these videos together take 1.68GB of my hard-drive, and they're all with bad quality already
and that's only the clips i used.. i had to watch hours and hours of these clips to find exactly what i was looking for.. not that i mind.. i love this old stuff :-)

http://gamma.nic.fi/~aammpp/man.avi
and here's the .avi version (8.9MB)
it is XviD video with VBR MP3 audio
it's no different to the .mov version (except some prefiltering and resolution change for better compressibility), so it's only for those who haven't got it yet or want a choice in formats

Applauds from me, nicely done and just to the point of what the Fallout feeling is all about. If this had come from Todd Howard, our beloved FO3 developer, I would feel much better.

Sander, what exactly is it you find strange about the use of the Roman numerals?
I've seen (and regularly at that) them used for modern material. Have you never seen MMI or MMII etc at the end of something?
Maybe it's just something we do over here, the BBC does it on most of their programmes. Confused
Urgh. Read my entire post before responding, 'kay? I didn't find the Roman Numeral odd, but the fact that they say "1947" which isn't logical.

Loved it, very nice :)

the last part with the disclamer text out of the screenview, haha, nice touch...

Sander, odds are it was just the numerals from his source vidieo he used.

Though it would be sweet if he' redo it with accurate numerals (accurate to FO that is)

PsychoSniper, perhaps you would like to read what Shole has written?

Am I the only one who thinks this is crap?
Eh?
I mean, come on, wake up: it's just a collage of some old video footage.
You don't exactly need to be the new Spielberg to make a clip like this, you know?
Plus: the song is sentimental and pathetic. It's elevator music, for crying out loud.

Pf.
He gets a 1/10 for not misspelling Vault Tec.
Sorry.

Well, it's made quite well .... but if not these nuclear explosion clips, music ( which only valor is that it's retro music ) and vault tec. comment then it would not hold fallout's mood at all.
So I'd more agree with alec than with others but ... yeah, well made.

I like it.
But I don't think it's all that "Fallouty".
The reason I like it is that you've timed the A-Bomb explosions and stuff really nicely to the beat. It's cool, black and white will allways catch my eye.
And you have done a really good choice of music.

Great movie

This is an excellent movie, its layout is well done, and, to me, provides more than adequate atmosphere which is well in line with Fallout's. To me it looks like a legitimate Vault-Tec propaganda film which would be made from smatterings of old footage to inspire fear in its inhabitants and dissuade them from ever leaving the vault.

Good Job, Shole.

Re: Great movie

The Party salutes the efforts of Comrade Shole. Good work.

Consider this an unintelligent and completely invalid reposte! Will your wrath be swift and terrifying? Or do I have a long drawn out demise to look forward to?

I'll let someone better suited to the task deal with you, but for now, I just want to point out your 'facts' are nothing more than products of your mind, hardly reflective of reality. Let us look at your list of our complaints, in addition to my previous list. "The inaccuracy of the roman numerals, and the absence of in-game footage or Ron Perlman's voice..." Only the first is an real complaint voiced in this thread, and Sander said he liked the video, only questioned that aspect of it. The other two are pure invention on your part.

Troll elsewhere.
