Fantasy Football '10: Revenge of the Festini

There's no point in complaining about it now, Twinkie. I specifically ask for suggestions to rule changes before the season, that's when you should make suggestions. Last year you waited until into the season to complain about the 0-points allowed scoring, and it's just too late. I'm not going to change any rules at this point of the season.

Also when I saw Grant hop off the field I would've considered adding his backup. I added Jackson shortly after Grant was announced out for week 2, but well before Grant was announced out of the season. It's not just a matter of speed, it's taking gambles as well. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

Actually I wanted to ask about that. Every other league I'm in has a period where you can't add new players. So you have to wait until wednesday for all pending waiver wire requests to be processed. From your description, I assume we don't have one of those?

Yip. Nor did we the previous two years.

It's a matter of preference. It's not as big a difference maker as you might think, but it does give the advantage to active people/whoever is lucky enough to be around. There's only so many injury fliers you can make.

We can consider switching to the more standard waiver wires next year. I have no preference for them, I've always been in FA pool fantasy leagues, but if the majority of our managers do then fine by me.

i think you need to go re-read my post before either accusing me of complaining or defending what you did regarding Grant.

i covered both subjects.

I know, and I was replying to both. I'm just saying, its exact fairness or unfairness isn't that relevant anymore at this point, since changing rules after the draft is a really bad idea.

Unless you can get all players to agree on its I guess, it's the players' league.

Fair enough, yeah.

You're actually surprising level-headed about your team losing its RB and your fantasy team getting dive-bombed...

Wait, who are you?! WHAT DID YOU DO WITH TWINKIE?!

Did well despite the fact that Sims-Walker did literally nothing, and olsen and Calvin Johnson didn't do much but he was covered by Champ Bailey all day I believe.

Also, Michael Vick is on the trading block. I like WRs.

Yea, I understand we'd done it before, I just never put two and two together that I've never had to wait for my waiver requests to process in our league. I'm fine continuing with it for the year but I think it's something to consider debating next year. You can be active in the league and still not hound the system every hour on the hour, so I don't think it's fair to reward people entirely for persistence. Still, I'm cool with how we're going so far, so we'll see how it goes.

it's been so overwhelmingly disappointing already that i'm dejectedly resigned. i mean, what i'm gonna do? eh. :whatever:

also: why am i still waiting for a waiver to go through in dropping Grant?

How waivers/free agents work in my money league is this:

Rosters lock 15 minutes before kickoff of the first game of the week. No players can be added or dropped from that time until waivers are processed.

Every week waivers are processed the first time some time between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning US time - essentially one day after the end of the Monday night games. After that, waivers are processed again roughly every 24 hours until the day of the next game.

Waiver order is based on points scored that week from low score to high score plus overall record. If you are awarded a player through waivers, you go to the bottom of the list.

After waivers run, players can be added or dropped freely with the lone exception that any dropped player must pass through the next waiver period before he becomes fair game.

I offer this just FYI because this is from a money league that's been running successfully for seven years now with players spread out geographically from LA to Moscow. The waivers system has probably caused more discussion and argument than any other single part of the league, but I think we've got it working pretty good these days.

Fortunately Bieber's Butt-Plug is crammed to overflowing with elite talent, so I don't need to worry about adding scrub free agents. :P

You guys don't have much confidence in my team.
ManWithNoName? More like, ManWithNoGAME!

You misunderstand fantasy football if you think it's our job to make you feel good about your team, but I for one have every confidence in its utter suckage.
