Fav weapon...why?

For me it's either plasma grenades or two .44 speedloaders.

The gauss weapons are really nice too.

I've always been a fan of the Gatling Laser. I especially liked how powerful it was in FO1 and FO3.

Come to think of it, the Gatling Laser was probably the only thing I thought FO3 did right - a minigun that shoots lasers should be powerful.

Turbo Plasma Rifle, because I love hearing my enemies squish into goo.

If we're talking cheap guns, then Alien Blaster and Red Ryder LE. Can't believe no one mentioned that one yet.

This!!!!!!!!!!!

Grunt(+20%)+Thought you died(10%)+psycho(25%)+slasher(25%)+yao guai meat(10%)+lightbolt(increase rate of fire)+JHP(x1.65)
without drugs, DPS is 591(with JPH), 358(normal).

Sniper Rifle. That things is a beast.

Having progressed further in the game, I need to retract this - the Plasma Rifle, if only for the awesome death animations (much cooler than New Vegas' glowing green goo) and the sense of accomplishment that comes from making it down to the final level of the Glow. I'll probably update that to "Turbo Plasma Rifle" in time. :)

In New Vegas, I love the MF-Hyperbreeder Alpha. It's like having a gatling laser in your pocket that doesn't require ammunition and can be smuggled easily into casinos.

I wasn't 100% behind the notion of a weapons pack for Fallout, but I do have to admit that almost every one of my talky geek characters since GRA has sported the MF Alpha. It gets dreadful hard to do any real damage with it later on down the line, though.

Favorite weapon of the series overall is a tough choice for me... I loved the original .223 Pistol and the Red Ryder LE both for their incredible stopping power and unassuming natures, and I held on to them for as long as they were even remotely useful (which in FO1 often meant winning the game with them), so I suppose it would be one of those.

In the newer Fallouts (which I'm going to cheat and count as a slightly different set of games that I get to answer again for), I'd like to be able to choose one of the nostalgic throwbacks, but if I'm honest with myself I've never had more fun in a Gamebryo game than I do running around the wasteland with a fully-modded War Club and the Super Slam perk.

My new vegas vote is the single shot 40mm grenade launcher (long tube) and as many +explosive damage/radius perks as I can get. Something about the little math problem you do in your head to make an accurate shot over long distance never gets old. I love that weapon in any game it's in.

Oh, crap, I might have to change my answer. I forgot how much fun Explosives runs are in NV because I usually play them as pure chaos and I'm not often in the mood to be in it just for lulz when I'm starting a new game. We'll call it a tie with the war club.

(P.S.: Basing a New Vegas character around Mad Bomber is an experience everyone should have at least once.)

A mad Bomber Junkie character is awesome, you can roleplay an unabomber type psycho. making bombs out of tin cans and other clutter, why get a laser rifle when you can turn the MFcells into makeshit grenades?

I have always processed the "MF" mentally as "motherfucker" when seeing Micro-Fusion Cells written as MFC, even when I don't want to. Which makes energy weapons even more great, obviously.

"Oh shit I'm out!"
"No worries mate, here, load it up with summore MUTHAFUCKIN CELLS!"
"Yeah!" [highfive]

I always like the Marksman Carbine due to the fact its semi-auto for follow up shots when needed, but also has the effectiveness of a battle rifle if needed up close. It would either be that or the Hunting Rifle for the sheer power and availability for repairs.

Fallout:Turbo Plasma Rifle. The very best there is.When you absolutely, positively got to melt every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

Fallout 2:A Small Gun that looks like an Energy Weapon and removes the lower half of a persons torso when you fire at them.

Fallout 3:The Fat Man I guess, it makes a nice boom noise.

Fallout:New Vegas:Red Glare. An Automatic Rocket Launcher that fires bright red glowing rockets with the Old World Flag painted on its side, 'Nuff said.

Though Old Glory is a close contender.
