Favorite Film of 2010

My three favourite movies this year are simple, Inception, Kick Ass and The Social Network.

All three have awesome soundtracks too, good bonus.

Inception, Kick Ass

I'd perhaps add "Šišanje" ("Skinning"), Serbian movie about skinheads. It isn't anything special, really, and reminds me a lot about some older (non-Serbian) movies about skinheads, but I liked it anyway...

Oh yea, forgot about Social Network. I love Fincher and never thought I would pass on a movie of his but I just have absolutely no desire to watch that movie, for some reason. It's like who gives a shit?

Maybe one other person has seen Black Swan in this thread. Go see it guys. Its a great film and IMO much better than the top picks people are listing here.

Yes.

I heard both good and bad things about it. Some say (Top Gear's Jeremy voice) that it's dark and disturbing in a good way, others say that it's doing that very heavy handedly (real word?).

I might check it out if I can get my hands on it. It'll have to hit some pretty high notes to top Let Me In for me though.

I saw it on Netflix stream so I didn't get the 3D element but it looked just so bland in terms of both presentation and story.
I would argue that if you didn't see it in a theater, you didn't really see it the way the creators intended.

I was a bit curious about The Social Network, but since I've never been on Facebook and have no plans to start, I couldn't motivate myself to see it. Fincher's made some good movies though, so I don't doubt anyone who says it's quality.

I saw True Grit a second time this afternoon, and liked it better than the first time. There's something awesome about the experience of seeing a great western in a theater. How often does that happen anymore? I'm getting my fill while the getting is good.

The only "cinema" film I went to see in 2010 was Salt...and it sucked big time, but alas it still its my favorite and worst film for 2010 - unfortunately by default.

I was so bad I remember it vividly, even though it was months ago, even though I don't want to remember it.

Yeah, I agree. The first 10-15 minutes of Salt beguiled me into thinking it might be a good movie. Ultimately that just made the rest of it seem even worse.

Just saw it this weekend. The movie is a bit heavy handed but I think it comes together really nicely. The mood is so dark it practically curls up around you in the theater. I get freaked out pretty easily (and don't usually like horror movies) but I was thoroughly entertained throughout (hehe thoroughly throughout).

It also has some pretty sweet ballet.

'A single man' by far the best movie I saw last year.

Not seen a lot of decent movies this year really. Inception was pretty good, though not really anything new. Enter the Void wasn't a great film, however considering what was attempted, I was pretty impressed. Mmmm DMT.

Really? I thought it was fairly shocking.

We get movies here like 3-4 months after they are released, but well my favorite movies of 2010 were Inception and Machete, I wanted to watch Kickass but they only had it for about a week and they didn't even presented trailers beforehand so I missed it. They also pulled "Where the Wild Things are" from cinemas BEFORE it was even released, we got the trailers, the manequins and posters but sudenly they decided to not allow it.
