Start game - Desert Eagle
Mid-Game - Combat Shotgun, H&K P90c
End-Game - Gauss Rifle, Bozar

I don't think I've ever used that. The .44 Magnum costs 1 AP less to use.

>Mid-Game - Combat Shotgun, H&K P90c

I'd substitute Sniper Rifle for the CS/Pancor for a character without Fast Shot.

>End-Game - Gauss Rifle, Bozar

Agree.

This thread won't die, will it? :)

Favorite Fallout weapon?

What is your favorite fallout weapon and why?

Mine is the shotgun. Although it sucked later on it was my baby the first few levels. I took care of it and it took care of my foes. It had the power and the range of a decent weapon. The only draw back is the two ammo it held. But with a agility of 10 I could shoot twice and reload in the same turn. All in all a nice weapon. (Also kind of reminds me of Mad Max's and even Ash's {Army Of Darkness} shotgun)

The memories.

TOss up between the auto-shotgun and the sniper rifle. Auto-shotgun made quick work of almost any enemy, where as the sniper rifle made a mess of their brain via their eyes from a mile away.

as i haven't played FOT i'll just answer with FO2 guns:

BOZAR ALL THE WAY BABEH!

FO: Turbo Plasma Rifle (because it's the best in that game)
FO2: Gauss Rifle (same reason)

Turbo plasma rife and alien blaster are the best weapons in fallout 1 and the resulting piles of ash or goo are nice to.

Bozar is way too powerful and it looks cool as well. Same with gauze rifle. They both almost always cause nice gruesome deaths as well.

Sawn off is a nice concept but it's just too weak, so my Max characters have pancors which are also very tasty.

yeh

In fallout tactics they have a gattling gauze minigun that can kill five power armoured troopers in one go. Bozar still looks much better though.

That Gattling Gauss Minigun (or whatever it is called) is overkill. I used the duplication bug once, making five more Gattling Gauss Miniguns and tons of 2mm EC. I had a whole squad equipped with them and we just waltzed through the game like it was the first level of Mario Bros. Ha! Barnaky and his room full of humanoid robots didn't last five seconds.

Makes an awesome noise, though.

Tactics is easy even if you just attempt to power game a little bit without cheating. Grab the M2 Browning HB from the mutant bunkers and the game is a breeze. There are little tactics involved in walking in the open and blasting everything with superior weaponry. One day I might give the game a chance by putting the difficulty to max and by tryng to play noob style but now I couldn't be bothered.

I did make an ultimate cheat character with the editor as well in Tactics. He could 'teleport' over mine fields (1000 AP) and finish most levels in less than five minutes. This smart arse file got into trouble when I saved in the mission with the self-repairing power nodes but quick mouse work and nearby timed plastic explosives got me through it.

Fallout: Super Sledge. (It was crap in FO2, because it did bugger all against the Enclave)
Fallout 2: I always loved the .223 pistol, but ended up switching to something higher powered in the endgame. (It's in FO1 too, but it's not a normal gun.)
Dunno about favourites in Tactics.

.223 Pistol and the Super Sledge for me. Both are original and neat.

One of many good things in Fallout was the many unique items, they create a fond memory for that particular item, unlike the mass-produced items of Fallout 2.

FO: uhm, turbo plasma rifle..
FO2: desert eagle and any kind of machine gun (M60 preffered) i usually give sulik a .223 and cassidy a gauss...
FOT: err, dunno, i just use the best ones there....

the Red Ryder special edition really rules

just a pitty you really cant find it earlier in the game

(at least you cant in FO2, in FO1 you could find it in a random encounter with high luck, so i guess you could find it early in FO1)

legs and hands

i love beat kids and grandpas in fallout and then when they fall on the ground once more "!" "!" "!" 8)

are you sure? it takes 5 ap to fire a shot gun and 2 to reload. 5x2+2=12. With a 10 agility, you still can't reload. At least that's the dilemna my 10 agility character is currently faced with.
