I liked the .223- Pistol in both Fallout-games. Apart from that, the turbo-plasma-rifle is unsurpassed in FO1 as far as I am concerned.

As for FO2, the pulse- & Gaussrifle were always my favs.

I guess I'm pretty standard here...

As long as this thread is around I might as well contribute to its longevity.

Fallout: Super Sledge (Fast Shot and Bonus H+H attacks= 1 AP for attack, 10 swings a round, very cheap, but it kills all), Combat Knife, 14mm Pistol, Mauser, Flamer (best for evil characters).

Fallout 2: Wakazashi, unarmed, FN FAL, Needler, Mauser.

Fallout Tactics: Scalpel, Sten Gun, Ripper, Needler, FN FAL, Mauser.

Up close, and most of the time, personal. (except for the FN FAL and Sten)

Gauss is fun, but it is cheap as hell. I managed to get 3000+ rounds in my inventory, WITHOUT cheating.

Bozar, never bothered.

How do you get a uranium nugget? I swear, I start the game over and I find something entirely new. (Have yet to be a made man for Sal or Bishop, just an example of my goody-two shoeness)

Uranium Nuggets are found on some caravans, and there's one to be had in a secret cave in Broken Hills, right inside the door to the mine.

FO1: Definitely the Desert Eagle

FO2: Of course, the Desert Eagle again. I picked it for both FOs because its just... perfect for the setting. Besides, they've got more style than Prince.

Tactics: It's coming in the mail from Maryland or some other God-forsaken place. I should have it by Friday.

FO1: 14mm pistol, then .223 pistol once I did the quest, then Plasma Rifle once I tagged Energy.

FO2: FN p90 and... well, that's it, really.

FOT: FN p90 again... and all the rocks from the civilians in Macomb.

How bout the weapons I don´t like (from FO1 FO2 FOT) :
Lesee.... The chauchat maybe?

The *Chauchaut*??? Was that piece of shit actually IN Tactics? I never played it... or are you just making a joke on how crappy a weapon it was...

How about the 94 Shiki Kenju (Nambu Type 94 Pistol) if we're on the subject of terrible weapons.

I was at a demonstration once, featuring a lecture by a forensic firearms specialist. Anyway, he had a sense of humor so he brought in this one particular shotgun he had sent away for as a kid. It had cost him something like $8, and consisted of two tubes that fit inside eachother. They were fitted with grips and a stock, and there was even a trigger, but the function of the weapon was far from conventional. When the trigger was pulled, the barrel halves were allowed to move, thereby enabling one of two actions: either pulling back on the foregrip to fire the gun, or pulling the two halves apart. The trigger, therefor, did not directly fire the gun. So the fellow decides to have some fun with a guy in a gun shop, so he brings this shotgun in and just lays it on the counter, and the owner looks at it and immediately says "Oh, I know what that is!" and starts turning the forepart of the barrel (of course this does nothing at all). The owner kept up the turning for several minutes, when the detective says "Fine thread, eh?" A few moments later the Gun shop owner gave up and had the Detective show him how it was done.

Of course you didn´t get to use the chauchat, it comes jammed already, beyond repair. I would say is not even a weapon. And mi point was the weapons i DON'T like, letting know that I like all of them... mostly, maybe not the zip gun or other of that kind, as some melee or trhown weapons. So, with some exeptions, as i cleared here, i like them all.

For Fallout I got a lot of fun out of running around with the assault rifle and the SIG as a back up (loud, scary looking, and good clip size. I love that thing. :) ).

Fallout 2, I REALLY liked the night-sighted FN-FAL for some unexplained reason, and the magnum with the speed loader was a lot of fun too.

I haven't gotten to play tactics yet, but from the weapons you guys talk about in it, sounds like I may have to get a hold of it.

Spank me silly and call me a circus monkey, because i also always had an unexplainable attraction to the FAL, despite the fact that it was basically an assault rifle (wich i hated). must be the pheromones...

Yeah, the FN FAL was pretty cool. It was just a shame there wasn't much ammo for it. In fact I like Assault Rifles very much, and I was very, very disappointed to see no spectacular endpoint for the Assault Rifle progression like all the other weapons types... (Bozar, Super Sledge, PPK12 Gauss Pistol, M72 Gauss Rifle, Pulse Rifle, Pancor Jackhammer, etc). FN FAL HFPA and the XL7OE3 sucked, not that you ever even found the latter a lot (I had to play like a dozen games before I finally got my hands on one!)

Well, as for the FN FAL , it's just beautifull. I don't like it much in Tactics thoug, even if it was as powerfull as an M-249 SAW

In both Fallout games, I don't think there's anything quite as beautiful as the Super Sledgehammer. Heck, it's fun to just use a plain Sledgehammer up until that point.

However, there are just times when you need to put a little lead in the air, so I keep a .44 Magnum with the speed loader on my hip, just in case. Two targeted shots AND a reload is hard to beat, especially when that thing packs surprising firepower.

how about dual burst + reload with the Bozar at the end of the game ?
(bonus rate of fire, 10 AG + 2 AP with 2 actionboy perks)

maybe add some bonus move perks to position yourself better: carnage i say!

ok ok, you need to be high level for that, but that still is the best thing in the game imho.

You know, I have never liked using the Bozar. I think it's because the description of the weapon says it is the "ultimate refinement of the sniper's art", AND the thing looks like an absolutely sick sniper rifle... yet is confined to burst mode. The initial disappointment still hasn't worn off, I think. Drives me nuts.

Still, nothing pleases me more than taking a Super Sledgehammer to someone's legs. There's something about a hammer's meaty blows that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
