FO2 Graphics Upgrade Patch (FO2GUP)

I wasn't talking about different ones. For example the robots would be nice to keep them both on the game. But when talking about, let's say, the old leather armor and the updated one, it's better to keep the updated (assuming they are equal but only with better visuals).

I'd say it would be good to use them both... its, in my opinion, better to have more visual sprites than less... it gets annoying seeing the same 5 people over and over and over again.

That display panel (a few pages back) is almost fine;

just needs more NIXIE TUBE!

Also someone should start a Fallout 1/2 graphics replacement repository...

fully recreated graphics biased on the original ones (or similar)...

Preferably not using any components of the original FO1/2 (textures...original art, ect...)

If FIFE has the Post-Apoc. Graphics, in GPL or Creative Commons License

That can replace 1:1 FO Sprites and Tiles... should there not then be more incentive for people to start working on the rest of the Core of the engine?

Also is there anywhere that the internal mechanics of the FO combat and RPG system are explained in great detail. I'm talking about algorithms for attacks, how the stats actually work; chances of XYZ happening biased on values.

I think what is truly needed is a "Fallout Reference Design".

Explaining ALL game mechanics, RPG systems, UI interfaces, actions and events, ect... a FORMAL design and specification document.

Not just something that reads: '50's era art and TB combat....

Is such a thing started already?

There hasn't been loads of progress as most of us have had other projects to work on recently, but there is a rumour going around that a certain infamous lost critter may make a return...

I'm currently working on a new turret, not what you'd expect in a conventional defence turret I'll admit....

I think you should choose what you want your guy to look like too.

Like If you want to start off having cassidys baldness. Or ians hair.

that would be awesome

Well there is a way I think this could be done, you would need to run Fallout via a patcher or the new engine tweaker, this could let you alter your default appearance...

I'll look into add this hack

The colours arent that great sorry, they really need a custom .pal file.

Anyway, its just a modified head from FO1, I can have them completed in no time :)

Yeah, I thought that looked like Morpheous from FO1. Cool, no rush.

Also, any chance you could assist in making the Cassidy head from Mutants Rising against a transparent bg? I started but I realized I would have to modify 30+ images. Is there a quicker way to do it then manually pixel by pixel remove the bg?

One thing at a time though. We can worry about him after Goris.

Hmmm... wouldn't Jain's talking head be more appropriate? A deathclaw's head is flat and small vertically and Morpheus had a rather tall face.

I could probably do it, but I'll have to do it one frame at a time (arghh).
Yeah, that is what I started doing...not fun indeed. We'll worry about him later then. :D
