According to this supposedly realleaked release chart, we should see D(iablo)3 in Q4 of this year.

Is Uwe Boll making it?
Ausdoerrt said:Just watched the trailer, quite weird tbh. Judging from the trailer though, it doesn't seem like they're planning to change much about the gameplay, just about the lore.
I'm pretty sure I read something about this awhile ago and Blizzard explicitly said that they wouldn't get Boll to make it. I don't really see any potential in WoW for a movie so it doesn't make sense if they want to retain the quallity associated with their brand (Blizzard, not WoW).Atomkilla said:Is Uwe Boll making it?
Yeah that pretty much sums it up. Most of the fans didn't care if there was any continuity, they just didn't like it when the over the top mark it aimed for was missed or when the game failed to measure up (DMC2 on both accounts). DMC4 took some flak for making Nero the protagonist and him not really hitting quite nailing the DMC mark (he lacked Dante's flair or Virgil's "badassitude", was just pretty unremarkable) and for a bit too much back tracking (reusing assets rather than creating new ones).maximaz said:In regards to DMC, I don't think people really care about lore so much. If you ask me, it was never anything remarkable. It's the feel of the new one that seems all wrong. DMC never took itself too seriously with its' "so cheesy/ridiculous it's cool" way.
This new incarnation feels very generically gritty, and Dante tries to be badass too hard and looks too emo this time. This is my take on it, at least.
If it's not being made by the DMC team then I'm extremely skeptical. I'm having flashbacks to DMC2 only worse...Stanislao Moulinsky said:I don't know, I hope it's just the lore and art direction they are changing but I'm not so optimistic. They said they want to reach to a wider demographic and you know what that usually means, right? They also made a couple of throwaway comments on GoW regarding this, which isn't a good thing.
Actual production is another problem. The game has been outsourced to Ninja Theory with supervision from Capcom. NT track record when it comes to gameplay isn't stellar, the engine they are using isn't suited for this kind of games (and they aren't excellent programmers anyway) and the extent of the supervision from Capcom isn't revelaed.
