Their intervention was essential to American independence, but kind of naive to believe it was due to fondness for Americans instead of an opportunity to stick it to England and expand their empire on the continent. Louisiana Purchase was a good deal too. Makes one wonder how differently N. America might look today if there was more French and less English/Spanish influence.

Maybe Louisiana would look more like Quebec? They'd be really good in icehockey and have lots of hot women? :D

Anyway, Hurricane Irma about to make landfall in Florida after pummeling the Caribbean. That's one mean tempered...thing.

Ah yes! I remember, it would be only ok for you if the storm was throwing plastic bottles at them and if it was about comedians.

Yes because plastic bottles aren't a natural disaster that kills hundreds and leaves people out of homes. Are you seriously comparing a natural disaster with heckling dude? For real?

Anyway. So the Pope is here in Colombia right now. Traffic was good on thursday because most people were given the day off and non public transport vehicles where barred from going out on that day. We weren't given the day off, such is the life of a Development agency. At least I get the full weekend off.
