What about Picts? I hear they were pretty fearsome. Can't find any good, insightful stuff about them, then again I'm stupid.
Picts were a group of people who lived in East and North Scotland during the Late Iron Age and Early Medieval Periods.
They are defined as"confederation of tribal units whose political motivations derived from a need to ally against common enemies" .
They left no history, and what we know about them comes from Roman, later Scottish writers, and carved on stones.
Archaeological records show Pictish society was not particularly distinguishable from its Celtic British and Gaelic neighbours.
They painted themselves with woad, just like the Celtic Iceni tribe. This is why they are referred to as picts, because picti is Latin for painted.
Early Pictish Religion is presumed to be Celtic Polytheism, later being replaced by Christianity in around the 5th/6th Centuries.

There are no records of the Pictish language, it is extinct. However, many records point to it being similar to Common Brittonic, the language of the Celtic Britons.

Their style of warfare has been recorded on some engraved stone slabs. Horseman, like the Celts, they used Javelins and longer lances. Foot soldiers fought with spears or pikes, and may even have had organised formations. They carried the characteristic Celtic shield with swirling patterns, and some wore Germanic style helmets (Spangehelms's). Most surprisingly of all, the crossbow is included on one of the engraved slabs, though it wasn't thought to be in use until much later in Europe.

I'll link you to some battles involving the Picts:

Well thats some great appreciation for the 40 minutes I just put into describing the Celts for you.
Thanks bro, fucking thanks. I'll never be doing that again
To be fair who would want to learn about a bunch of barbarians on an island when you could be reading about superior cultures like the Greeks, Romans
or French ;^)

EDIT: Also I totally ignored this thread for the longest time because I thought it was about "Doom" the game.

Triggered as fuck right now.
Celts had an advanced and sophisticated society. Women had way more freedom with the Celts, and Celtic craftsmen were superb.

And Celt women were hot too. But if you got bored of Celt muff then you could always plunder the fuck out of some Roman bitches,

Also, who the fuck wouldn't want to be led by a big bad painted chieftain with a long sword and a spanglehelm? Better than some queer on a horse in tights with a flowery felt hat.

Ha, what a bunch of pussies. I bet you fairies don't even go to the public bath to get all hot and sweaty with your bros you uncultured barbarians.
Graffiti from Pompeii said:
Weep, you girls. My penis has given you up. Now it penetrates men’s behinds. Goodbye, wondrous femininity!

Yep, there's strong bond to some Celtic traditions in our region, despite the fact that Celts were destroyed or pushed back from here long before first Slavs arrived. Our capital city stands on ruins of one of the biggest Celtic oppida in this region; with a lots of tools, coins, weapons, and other relics excavated to this day. There was a mint in this oppidum according to some tools excavated, which is a big deal.

Many of our blacksmiths still reproduce Celtic weapons and jewelry as a hobby actually.

Nah, we didn't need public baths like you pathetic little children.
After we had finished killing you filthy Romans we went back the roundhouse and then got hot and sweaty with our bros.
I'm not actually joking, supposedly some of them used to have gay sex after battles. If its true, it was one of the more.....interesting Celtic traditions. It is of course unproven and nobody knows if it happened or not.
But don't worry, the women definitely got there fair share of thick Celtic warrior javelin too
Anyway bitch, all celts are alpha males and those runts that are beta are the equivalent of your best roman alpha male

I am Portuguese and I have a big interest in any people/cultures that lived or conquered the Iberian Peninsula and that includes the Celts.
Actually did you know that some experts found evidence that seems to point that the Celts were originally from what is now Portugal and Spain?

Interesting, but as the article says its meaningless:
However the academic said attempts to identify a biological Celt or notions of cultures emanating from a particular spot are meaningless. He believes human cultures and populations are constantly in a state of flux, drawing their influences from far and wide.

Dr Karl, himself an Austrian, added: “I personally think the question of where Celtic culture originated is by and large meaningless. Culture is constantly changing and never has a single point of origin.

“The biological Celt is meaningless because human populations inter-mingle.”

I agree. I was just sharing what I thought was interesting :-D. I always thought Celts came to Iberia from the East, so when I found that out I thought it was quite interesting :look:.
Oh yeah I have a question:
How do you spell/say Celts and Celtic in English? Is is like "Kelts"/"Keltic" or like "Selts"/"Seltic"? I have heard both.
In Portuguese they are called Celtas and spelt/said "Seltas".
