General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Shit, when I play Splinter Cell games I always make a rule for myself to never kill anyone who I'm not supposed to in order to finish mission. Makes it more fun, having to creep up behind people and knock them out instead of just shooting them in the head.

I do the exact opposite whenever there are friendly/neutral npcs that can be killed in any shooter. I make it my mission to kill every single one of them.

Right now? well Witcher Enchanced Edition with latest patch quite nice :) also a little bit F2+MM and Warcraft 3 online...

House of the Dead: Overkill on the Wii the cheesy mock pulp fiction writing makes up for the shitty graphics.

Replaying Fallout, and planning on using Falche to recreate my FO1 character in 2 and see how much I can build him over both games.

Also been dorking around with Eye of the Beholder a bit the past few days.

Okay. So Planescape Torment turned out to be a piece of shit wrapped in serang wrap, ladies and gentlemen. Seriously. Talk about an overrated game, why don't you. I can't fully comprehend why so many people praise it when it is so obviously flawed in each and every way, that one has to be sort of really desperate to finish it. It started out alright: I loved the setting, loved the story, but then the dialogues started to get to me. Pseudo-philosophy anyone? Jesus. The combat had been getting to me from the very start but post-Ravel it just gets worse and worse. I'm sorry, but I just can't take so much crap in a short amount of time. Maybe I'll fire it back up in a year or so, but now it's just a big NO NO NO.

So yesterday I reinstalled Deus Ex, a game I've never finished because of my motion sickness. But here's the thing: I have a full box of Touristil! Ha!
This will be the first game I take meds for just so I can play it. I've taken meds before when playing games, but usually that was just to forget about them.

This game better be worth the damage my liver will receive.

Currently playing Fallout 2 for the first time (yeah, I know, late to the party  ). Just discovered the location to Vault 13. :D

Haha, I finished Fallout 1 last week, took a break (for a day  ) and started playing 2. I'm addicted!

I'm playing U r-Quan Masters right now, the Ilwrath and Thraddash are about to crush eachother.

I also started a game of Morrowind as a Mage/Warrior. Much better then Oblivion.

Procrastinating on starting up Curse of Monkey Isle. Currently playing Kingdom Hearts 2 (good gameplay, bad story and difficulty [too easy]), Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory, and sporadically Diablo 2 (with some friends, game gets old fairly quick).

The special edition remake, or the episodic one?

I've tried the remake, and it's pretty good; but the interface is the worst I've ever seen in a point&click. It's sad when switching back to the "classic" graphics offers you a MUCH better UI than the improved version.

I think that you're thinking of the first game and the new episodic releases, I'm talking about the third game. I haven't bought the special edition of Monkey Isle 1 yet but I plan to and I can totally see how removing the HUD from the screen could cause issues. I'm personally a fan of the second game's HUD, the text is larger, doesn't include the "turn on/off" useless options, and looks nicer. The third game has a somewhat funky interface as well, what with reducing the number of actions to three and having them in a pop-up menu by the highlighting of intractable objects when you hover over them is a needed improvement over the first two games.

Also gotta say that while the remake looks better, I don't like the change of style that started in Monkey Isle 3 (though the it's improved since then).

I didn't like the new style of the third either (Elaine looks bloody terrible!), but the voice acting makes it well worth it. I found it a lot easier to get into than the first two anyway.

Deus Ex. For the 1888654th time.

Also, two mediocre/okay shooters;
Soldier of Fortune 1&2, beyond the gore, they arent that great. 1 is arcade like, that would have been better if it wasnt for the unfitting last levels with mandatory semi scifi crap. 2 had annoying psychic AI and stealth missions. Not a good mixture.
Apart from seeing SADDAM GET KILLED BY HIND in SoF 1 there were no really memorable moments.
