General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Also just finished Wolfenstein 09.

I can understand why some people don't like this as much as its prequel as its 'roots' are clear, still I had a good time playing this game.

Perhaps I should look up my copy of RTCW as well.

Gunship. I have bought a sealed box a few weeks ago and I have also bought a "Gunship Academy: Tactics and Maneuvers for Attack Helicopter Simulations" manual :D .

Now I'm learning to fly a helicopter with EGA graphics :D !

Still playing GRID, and the "Serious" difficulty level is getting too easy.

I shouldn't be able to do this

Although, I did have to use all three of my flashback-do-over thingies because the LMP2 cars behind me thought that passing me on the inside of a corner was a good idea, which usually ended up with both of us smeared against a wall.

EDIT: lolololol gtfo my way, fag

Playing Street Fighter IV, getting really tired of people using noone but Ryu, Ken, Akuma, or Gouken then just spamming fucking hadoukens.

Also, the Fallout collection (1, 2, Tactics) is now on Steam.

With all the Baldur's Gate talk in the other topic, and with another topic on Baldur's Gate over at Something Awful, I just had to install the trilogy again. Playing the first with Tutu right now, chosen for a wild mage.

I was actually expecting more random disasters than I've yet had. Once a reckless dweomer spell fizzled and 'did nothing', another time it doubled the enemies HP, once it gave the enemy a minor globe of invul, around 2-3 times it successfully casted lightning bolt, a spell I normally wouldn't be able to cast yet at level 4.

Come to think of it, I never played through the add-on of BGII.

With RTCW out of the way, it's time for KOTOR 2 (Thanks to TVD's glowing review).

Took some doing to get it running, but everything seems in order now.

Starting a game.

Ah Dead Space, the sci fi horror game that actually made me laugh when the player character dies instead of even spooking me at least one time with any of the done-before scary scenes.

Improvement over Resident Evil 4 was that you can finally shoot while walking, but for the rest it was a rather cliché fest.

How are they suppose to make a sequel to it?
A prequel I can understand somewhat, but a sequel/

Just got back from the Midnight launch, impressions soon to follow!

My Batarang is scratched up, but so far the 8 hours I spent hanging villains from their ankles has been the most fun I've had these last 4 or 5 weeks.

Everyone's is. They were trying to "model it after the ingame" batarang. Personally I did not care for it to much. The leather bound Doctors notes on all of Arkham's inmates and the actual bat shaped box however is awesome.

I love the game its self. So many secrets/riddles/unlockables. The Patient interviews/notes are so cool. It is all a Batman fans wet dream. :P

Daikatana is hella fun in coop, not that the game is well made or anything, it's just a fascinating spectacle.
Before anyone pulls that "so bad it's good" bullshit, it has nothing to do with that, it's all because of John Romero's unrestrained creativity within the game.
It's like he went fucking nuts and there was no one to stop him.

Actually, I'd rather play Daikatana than Quake 2.
Quake 2 is just fucking boring and brown.

I thought I had gotten bored with Civilization IV. Even with Beyond the Sword and Warlords...the game had grown stale for me. The computer was predictable and since everybody could build everything, the game ended up being quite monotonous.

Enter Fall from Heaven 2. This is a mod based around a dark fantasy setting including new features such as magic, actually relevant religions, two god civilizations that you can summon and very different civilizations.

Will you try playing as the Vampiric Calabim? Eat your cities' population to make your units grow stronger...evolve your heroes enough and they gain immortality!

Try the Sheaim, the civilization whose entire strategy is based around bringing Armageddon down to Erebus. You'll get evil reinforcements from your planar gates, units you can't build such as succubae, Azers, Manticores, Revelers and more!

With over 8 different civilizations, you have lots of room for strategical creativity. Since you can achieve victory in several ways, different civs have different ways of achieving such victories.

The game is quite challenging as there is an Armageddon counter that makes the game very difficult. If you are a good civilization and let the evil religions grow more powerful, the world's terrain will start turning into hell. Fire, burning sands, rivers of blood, and more spawns of demonic creatures will eat you for lunch. When the Armageddon counter hits 30 you'll be hit with the Plague and your cities will drop several notches. At 40, Stephanos, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse will come. 50 will net you a nice hit from the Plague again. If you allow the Armageddon counter hit 60, Buboes will come knocking on your door as the second Horseman. At 80, you'll get to fight Ars Moriendi. *

Do yourself a favor and git some Fall from Heaven 2.

Dead Space.

It's funny how the game's otherwise very disturbing music/audio turns to stereotypical vampire-movie tunes whenever one of the retarded monsters makes its entrance...

The 'horror' aspect is a bit tacky and more annoying than scary, but I give kudos to a game in which you can make your enemies' limbs fly off into several directions, then stomp them into a bloody pulp.

About to reinstall Oblivion. I don't know why I keep doing this despite being bitten so many times - I keep finding myself harbouring some strange notions that the game might actually be good, which are instantly dispelled the moment I step into the wrinkly paedophile's dungeon. I've reinstalled it at least 3-4 times, installed hundreds of mods but nothing can shake the utter stupidity of the characters and dialogue. The persuasion pie still leaves a rancid taste in my mouth.

Maybe I won't reinstall it after all...

Finished KOTOR 2, and I've got the strange urge to play Stalker. The first time I attempted to play, I ran around exploring for about an hour, then uninstalled after I found out that iron sights were less accurate than hip firing.

After the urge to play Stalker dissipates, I'll give KOTOR 2 another playthrough (darkside).

Finished Discworld Noir, going through Icewind Dale 2 and Wolfenstein 2009 from time to time.

All are either good or decent.

I tried to play diablo...buuuut...i soon quit after i had to "reset" the dungeon so i could level up and get to Diablo.
Now playing Diablo II.
