I might try to play this one next. The Witcher [1] is one of my top favorite RPGs. I've had Witcher 3 installed [day 1] since its release, but I've only toyed with the tutorial area. It seems an awful lot like Witcher 2.
Not in the slightest, it has more common with Gothic series rather than The Witcher 2, only with big ass landmass... Three of them.
Though I can't see the big deal about TW2, it's different but no way bad or 100% worse than TW1.
Only sith deal in absoulute, guys.
I'm about to touch Blood & Wine now. Now that looks cringy.
Command and Conquer The First decade loving it only played the first and Red Alert, been enjoying Tiberion Sun and Red Alert 2 haven't played Generals yet but looks good from what i've seen of it.
I meant mechanics though... Witcher 2 removed just about every aspect I liked about the series' mechanics. In W2 the formerly pragmatic Geralt had to kneel in the mud ~ahead of time to drink a potion; instead of choosing one on the spot that was appropriate to the evolving situation. Alchemy was brutishly oversimplified, losing its depth; the camera choices were gone, as was Geralt's ability to jump in combat; as was Geralt's ability to adjust his sword style to suit the opponent(s); as was his swordsmanship itself... as the very design of left-click-right-click attacking meant that he no longer knew how to use a sword, and merely swung the blade like an oaf any time the player hit the button ~no matter what direction he was facing... He would swing at boulders if facing one ~in a fight to the death. That's waaay out of character; and was nonsense behavior due to the new mechanics.
The open world isn't a problem ~unless it suffers the same issues as Elderscrolls, and/or lacks a fast-travel option. Witcher 1 [thankfully] did not enforce the mundane segments of travel on the player... Geralt rode to Vizima, and the action starts with a hellhound attack in the outskirts... The player did not have to slog it all the way across country to get to town [Hillsfar style*] in order to pick up the tale where the events start to matter. In W1 Geralt's inevitable [and negligible] encounters during the long trip to Vizima, were his own, and not something the player had to micromanage.
I will play Deadspace, and Darksiders, as soon as I manage to pull 50 gigs off of GoG, on capped Internet.
Do it. Persona 4 Golden (the one on the Vita) is a great example of a good remaster (or updated re-release). It actually has more additions added to it rather than being the same game except with touched up graphics.
It has more features, more in-game events and it's graphically superior to the PS2 version (better in-game textures).

I'm currently switching between Eve Online, Tyranny and Dishonored II, depending on the time and the mood.
Eve is the only game I ever agreed to pay a monthly subscription for. Truly excellent, but unforgiving for new players. The difficulty curve is very different from most games, but it's worth it. If some members of NMA are playing it too, by the way, it'd be fun to meet you there.
Dishonored 2 is simple, efficient, and humble. Doesn't try to be a next gen revolution or anything, it just delivers and treats you like an adult, nothing more, nothing less. Also, it doesn't actually glorify violence, which is rare.
Tyranny is... well. Everything I'm hoping to find in a proper RPG. So far, I love it. I'm a bit afraid that it won't be a long game though, but that's alright, it seems easily replayable with another faction and build, so that's alright.
Persona 4 Golden has both GREAT and terrible additions over the main game, it adds 2 social links that are representative of that, one expands upon an important character, the other is the worst waifu trash ever, it adds a bunch of new events to the year and a whole Extra month, but it also adds a bunch of out of place fan service. Is a mixed bag but it still is Persona 4 so at it's core is really good.
I've just finished Splinter Cell Chaos Theory with almost 100% completion (damn Bathhouse level). I'm going to play the first SC now and how well I remember it.
To be fair, I had to watch a video to see exactly what causes the score to drop (during the siege, you have to move as quickly as possible before soldiers start taking cover near certain areas).

Perf. Post again for hindisght then! Played Enderal a couple of months ago, it was mostly self contained, but still curious on the incidents on Nehrim.
Is it enjoyable or does the old Oblivion workings drag it down? Maybe i could buy Oblivion in a sale to play the mod
(pros) Main story is good, side quests are silly but ok and there aren't that many, world is beautifully built, leveling is better than in Oblivion and there isn't level-scaling.(you'll die easily if you wander in wrong region.)
(cons) Only german audio, subtitles font is shitty, Oblivion engine is crap, walking is slow and combat is clunky.

It doesn't work in the Jack Sparrow version anyway, so I think i'll stick with Enderal, especially with the fabled "DLC" coming. Happy that they kept the spirit
It really was just the Bathhouse level. I think it was exiting the vent when everyone starts shooting at each other. The infamous shower area was actually the easiest, followed by the boiler room mercs.
I think so to. Those two guys who always take cover nearby seem to be the ones who will spot you in that level. In that video I saw and my own playthrough, avoiding those two seem to be the key to getting 100%.
EDIT: Nice signature by the way. I miss the Sam Fisher who interrogated people with psychology rather than torture. He seems less nuanced when resorting to the latter.
Playing through the single player campaign of Space Hulk: Deathwing.
It's often quite frustrating since the damn team mate AI is kinda daft. quite unable to aim well at distance, so if you want to focus on melee or flamer, you're always hoping you don't run into anything decently long range that your chain lightning can't handle.
Maybe the multi/coop is more interesting, but I'm doing the single player first to learn to play decently with all weapon types first. But so far the enemies are predictable and the team mate AI is unable to do proper long ranged combat, so if you want to play melee only you're kinda fucked.
I feel a lot of standard survival horror tropes are underutilized. Like the "blocked door" doesn't have that much use if two hits with a melee weapon can tear it down. Enemy AI is also predictable and in 99% of the cases will come at you in a straight line (with an occasional sidestep, but that's it).
The Apothecary also seems to be quite a pushover. He dies fairly easily unless you babysit him 24/7. I never played tabletop, but in W40k PC games an apothecary was pretty fucking tough, especially in melee. That doesn't seem to be true in this game so far. And this squad mate of yours is a TERMINATOR Apothecary?
Weird.
So far I'm mostly enjoying it as a scenic tour of W40k architecture. Weird that everything is in such good condition (while there is damage, true decay is largely missing), but I guess the warp does weird things.
Got myself a PS3 a while ago but the guy have lent out all his game to 3 different people.. But i got myself a copy of the last of us which is quite buggy compared to what i remeber the first time i played it.. Had 2 guys fall through the floor and i got grabbed from 1-2 meters away etc.
Noticed that the DLC's/games on PS store costs quite a bit so my enjoyment so far is not that great..
Did another playtrough off Firewatch and i really wish it was longer or they would release another game like that. Love it!
Started playing Dead space but it feels so stiff for some reason. Will finish it some day soon i guess but not right now.
Now it is Quake 2 that gets some love. The only Quake game i really like, haven't tried Q4 yet but i really didn't like Q1 and 3 back in the days.
