General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

The only problem of Supreme Commander (and for that matter even old games like Cossacks or Total Annihilation) is that your computer can not take it after some time. Just too many units. But aside from that its an excellent strategygame with no perfect unit and emphasis on economy

I am playing the new C&Cs, Red Alert 2 and Tiberium Wars.

Tiberium Wars is probably the best game in the C&C series and is the best RTS in years (since Age of Empires 2, it is even better than SupCom), Red Alert 3 is mediocre (it has some very silly units!).

Heh I'm playing RA3 because of the silly units. TW got boring because of the tank spam but RA3 is still pretty fresh because, apart from some unbalanced units, spamming dosen't work very well (seriously, those Japanese battlecruisers are beastly when your playing Allies).
Also infantry are usefull unlike in TW where they all pretty much died after one shot and are only good for garrison.

Heroes of Might And Magic 5 (fun though camera angles can suck at times)
Command and Conquer Generals + Zero Hour Expansion
- Why are the people online in these video games so dang good at them? I swear I hate multiplayer modes because I find that no matter what I do, I get my ass kickeedddd

What sort of computer do you use for HoMM 5? Even with a decent machine I can only play 1vs1 or 1vs1vs1, anything else will ruin the game. Framerate is alright, but the time between turns is just way too much

Well I have just finished Mirror's Edge over the course of two days playing maybe 3 hours at a time.
You can already see one of the games "short"comings.

The game in and of itself isn't inherently terrible....(EA logo).

The first few levels are alot of fun to run through at full speed and finding your own route. Unarmed combat is kinda fun too.

Problems quickly arise tho'. Some jumps you are gonna do about 13 or so times before you get it right. Which I can look over but at times it's just something really stupid. Such as falling backwards off a platform that has a hand rail on it. Eh.

Worst problems. This game vomits absolutely sooo much bloom in my face it actually gives me a headache. The story is stupid. The voice acting is average at best. Collision problems and it turns into a glorified shooter in most spots towards the end.

It was okay tho'. A 6 out of 10 in my book.

King's bounty, the legend. SOme kind of Heroes of Might and MAgic with real time gameplay and turn based combat. It's a great game.

playing TF2 atm. looks like they added "achievements" as well now for some classes.

seems like some fun upgrades for weapons that you get for it.

doesn't bother me that only 3 classes got the upgrades, since 2 out of my 3 favorite classes are upgraded. :)

After a big break(act I was just too much) i started playing NWN2 again. I`d almost call it good if it weren`t for the inventory small icons, stupid companions KI and too much combat. It`s really not "that" bad as RPG. :P

Hrmm, the time between turns shouldn't take too long, maybe 15 seconds. It's certainly not great, but I just figured it was because my computer is old (4 years).

The game is fun but the new graphics make it almost impossible to find some loot when it is stuck behind mountains/walls

Suaside, what classes do you play as?

-fallout 3 (another try to complete the damn thing)
-hearts of iron 2: armageddon
-operation flashpoint (coop)
-arma (coop)
-dawn of war: soulstorm (with mods)

Medic, Pyro & Scout mostly.

though i get my best scores with the Sniper. but i just think that's a tad lame, so i don't play Sniper all that much. :)

the needle gun upgrade you get from the achievements for the Medic is really fucking awesome. at least now the medic has a good chance to survive.

Recently finished Assassin's Creed.

Pretty solid game, my only qualms with it is the repetitiveness of everything, and the ending (which even surpasses Fallout 3's in badness). For me the storyline was actually the main reason I endured the repetitive gameplay, because it felt like something was building up. Until the end, at which point it promptly deflated in an anticlimactic manner.

Right now I feel like playing a new cRPG, so soon I'll be trying to procure a copy of PS:T/Arcanum/The Witcher, or NWN2 and expansions if the aforementioned are not available.

Wow, scout? My compliments. I pretty much am a free point to the opponent as a Scout. And I'm with you on sniper. That's where my most points come but it gets lonely sitting further back. If I ever get to playing again, I'll have to look for you.

TF2 is pretty amazing. Scout is a really good class, but it takes a fair bit of skill to do well with that class. Most players are a free point as a scout.

Anyways, I'm playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and I love it. First Rainbow Six game I've played since Rogue Spear, which I got to play briefly and had no idea what I was doing.

FO1 and FO2 again after beating FO3 like 3 depressing times hoping somehow it would magically get better. Also Age of Mythology, Vampire Bloodlines and invisible war.

Can't forget the Starcraft online from time to time.

Gah. Just finished Far Cry 2 last night.

The game, for the most part, was actually fun for me.

The ending: horrible.
It's as if the entire 3rd act destroyed the whole open-ended feel of the game by funneling your character into a crappy set of events and choices.

I was actually prepared to disagree w/ people who said this was a bad game...but now I'm inclined to agree w/ them. Arghhh.

Will now be installing the latest NWN2 expansion (along w/ NWN 2 and the first expansion....).
