Is it just me or does dogmeat look a little retarded. The eyes aren't set right in his head so he's got a majorly dopey look!

Fail!

Maybe because of a scar... can't say for sure 'cause we don't see clearly the other eye. But it seems there's a scar... or maybe it's some kind of shadow. What do you think? =>

why the lower polycount and lack of shadows (as someone mentioned before) - is it also developed for the wii ?

These pictures just look as if the world of Bioshock somehow leaked all over the planet. None of these aren't all that different from the first pictures they released.

I was looking at the feral ghoul vs BOS chaingun screeny that also appeared in EGM, and I noticed the ghoul does have a shadow, its just on the wrong side for some reason.

If you look at how the light is affecting the BOS guy's armor, it would seem to be coming from behind him.

Then you look at the ghoul and his shadow is projected towards the paladin instead of away from him, as you would expect it to due to the light source's position.

It really could just be a problem caused by having a ridiculous amount of bloom on everything regardless of the positioning of the light sources in the game world.

It's not the first time I've seen this problem in a Bethesda game, and for all those out there who are about to chime in apologetically with "But It's UNFINISHED! Maybe it won't reallly look that way when it's released" I say:
Bullshit.

Oblivion was finished, and it still had the same problem.

Too much bloom on shit that shouldn't be casting light into the surroundings = screwed up shadows that look unrealistic in an engine that was supposedly designed towards realism.

Still, those Supermutants and Ghouls look absolutely terrible . The main problem is that not one of them looks as though it could string a sentence together, let alone hold a personality beyond "Supermutant SMASH!" or "urghhh! braiiiiinzzzz!"... Horrible, horrible, generic monsters.

While I too agree that the Fallout 3 super mutant design isn't all that great, what's so bad about the Gouls? They don't look much different than some old Fallout concept art.

Had I not known that this was a Fallout Ghoul, I probably would have thought that it was a zombie. Anyways, back on topic, I really enjoyed that screen of the pc blowing off that super mutant's leg. It just looks so goofy. From the mutant's position, it looks as if he had his leg blown off while he was doing some sort of summersault.

I still don't understand how it is that Washington D.C. has so many ruins intact in the city area. It looks more like pictures of post WW2 industrial ruins than like nuclear bombs were dropped on it. There should be nothing left, but some of those buildings seem to have survived pretty much intact. That makes no sense. Between the bombs, the looters, and the time passing, I would think the city proper would be a lot more like wasteland.

I think you should look at the picture of your ghoul and check outs beths ghoul again and focus on the eyes, thats the difference.

Being a huge zombie fan, I have seen enough movies and heard enough commentaries to get a general idea.

Its all in the eyes dude. Romero purposely fucked up his zombies eyes by making them all white or kinda you know milked/glazed over. This gives us a sense that the zombie are souless, mindless, killers.

Now look at Set for example. Look at his eyes. I mean the motherfucker has purpose. When he is pissed at you you can tell. He has a soul, a personality.

Or Harold for another example.

Just because someone went mad from loneliness/exhaustion/lack of sustanence doesn't mean they all of a sudden get afflicted with glaucoma or have their eyes changed out for animal eyes.

I still think bethesda wants the ghouls to be their staple "zombie" enemy. Thats why instead of being really fucked up humans with normal eyes they get the michael jackson "thriller" treatment.
