Good stuff, Lexx. The once beautiful northern California reduced to a barren wasteland. I think it looks very Fallouty.

Keep it up

Very nice work on your worldmap, Lexx!

I tried making one similar a few months ago, also using a satellite image. The colors are not as nice as yours, but all the original map locations line up perfectly with the real-world places.

Filefront download link: F2bigmap.7z and more details on that page.

Sorry I couldn't get a smaller size to display with BB code. :(

I adjusted my map on the original Fo1 and 2 maps so that they fit nearly perfect. Your map seems to be even bigger than my map (I have only 60 frm tiles) but the Glow is missing on your map.

By the way, I made a screenshot of San Francisco. :)

The map looks really cool ingame but I am still at fixing up smaller stuff that is bugging me.

Awesome work, Lexx.

I've always been bothered by how brown and bland the Fallout 2 world map is compared to Fallout one.

I know the goal of your project is to combine both maps into one huge cohesive one, but would you consider doing a version that's only meant to replace the default Fallout 2 world map?

Would be possible and I thought about this too. Also wouldn't be that much harder, but still a lot work because the locations need to be moved a bit and the encounter tables need to be adjusted and so on.

@diabelek33: I just wanted to do the worldmap. ;) Maybe I can cut it a bit more and adjust it just for Fallout 2. A mod with good content and a worldmap with the size of Fallout 1 and 2 is a bit to much for me.

Please do! If you get the worldmap completed to what you think is right, and it is cut into the appropriate number of tiles, I would be more than happy to include it in the MM. I think it looks great so far. The MM is already set up to include the areas from both FO! and FO2. From there, I could try to adjust the city locations to match up where you think they should go. As for maps/content... well, some of that is in progress in the MM. ;)

I have the coordinats of all locations (Fo1 and 2) now. Also the worldmap is cutted right and so on. I just need the new msk files and somebody needs to do the encounters and it is 100% finished. I really would do the encounter-thing by myself, but I absolutly have no time for this. :/

I have completed encounter tables for the entire worldmap in the MM (that includes the FO1 and FO2 areas), thanks to the Fallout Forever (aka Fallout Dominion) mod. I would just need the new art (something I have no skill in).

Nah, not really. My worldmap is far bigger than the worldmap in the russian Dominion mod. Thats the reason, why the encounter table still needs fixing.

I have 60 Tiles. Take a look at this. Here you can see the size/ with original Fo1 and 2 map visible. I adjusted the original maps to my template at San Francisco and LA. That's why the position is a bit different.

I think you have forgotten how big the map was from the mod. Ok, there are a few problems. But, what am I missing here? I mean, regardless of the size of the tile, the encounter tables are applied to the whole tile, right? This still means a little bit of work, of course. Even in the MM, I only have 56 tiles. But, the differences in tiles might require that certain areas be redone. The only parts that looks like they are missing are the areas at the very bottom of the worldmap (around the Glow). Everything to the east and most of the south is in the MM already.

Hmm. This could be possible - I don't know exactly. I have send you a pn with the stuff.

Really great job with the map, Lexx :)

Can't wait to see what will happen when you'll level up once again and you'll spend another points into 2d skills ;)
