Here are some frames I've done. About Miria I had plan to edit the other armors but these plans remained only plans.

Edit:
I almost forget to ask what should be the name of the frms?

Nice work, but... :aiee: : keep in mind what the others are doing!: Grayswandir was making the animations for the leather jacket! (which means there's a good chance that he already made that same death animation!!)...

Remember to post your progress in the wiki and what you're working on here.

About Miria I had plan to edit the other armors but these plans remained only plans.

Maybe sometime we could make those plans a reality...i know i want to make a custom Miria...but...is true that the Long Hair dude must take precedence or otherwise it'll never gets finished.

I almost forget to ask what should be the name of the frms?

HMHIPT: Tribal
HMHIPS: V13 Jumpsuit
HMHIPJ: Leather Jacket
HMHIPL: Leather Armor
HMHIPM: Metal Armor

(The "HIP" is for "hippie", which is what Josan12 used to call it)...
Ha...as i was writing this i noticed a new post apeared and provided the answer too...

I want make new black critter, look at this and tell what do you think.

Actually, I started the work on the same critter a while ago. Since it'd be incredibly stupid to work on the same thing without any coordination (and waste our time and effort), we could join the forces and take care of it.

The problem is only we might be using different methods, causing the differences in the overall appearance of the critter. I can make a small video describing my method and upload it somewhere, like youtube... It's not time consuming, yet good results can be achieved.

Interested?

Hey Lisac! Good to see you're still modding. For anyone who doesn't know Lisac has written a bunch of FRM editing guides and made some new critters (the little girl if i'm not mistaken??)

For what purpose did you want to make the black critter? Did you just want to make him in MAXX? or were you hoping to make the entire Hero critter set?

The LTHR biggun FRM's are done:

Now i'm onto the minigun ...

Grayswandir had answared to my pm and he already has all the frms that Ian has, so I'll will do the leatherarmor's and vaultsuit's B* frms as I see noone does these

Yes, thanks for the welcome back. Glad to see the people here still find those tutorials useful and keep creating variety of animation sets. I really like the hippie and the bald one, keep up the good work!

On the other note, I need the black hero character for FOnline, although it could be used in Fallout 1/2 as well (easier with sfall, I guess). This means editing all of the existing sets and naming them properly. The male character has more priority, the female should follow thereafter. Currently, I have finished 4 male sets: AA, AB, AE and AK.

I'll make a small video about the way I do it right now in a day or two. Anyone interested can jump in and help.

I could help out too with the black dude, when I have the time. I don't know if I will have much time... but at least I could take a look at it. A while ago I started with one but I couldn't get the color tone right.

Ok, I am almost finished with my critter, so I begin the leather jacket ian now, I hope to catch up with you guys.

Thanks for the pm Jotisz!

Hi Lisak!
Good to hear you are beginning the black one. If it is for fonline, I suppose you intend to do all the different armor ?
I tried to recruit some russian to help us, but it didn't worked (yet)
Can you show us a sample of your work? I am curious to see which tone you choose.
I have made some for the leather myself (manually), for aproximatively the same result as Arek. If they are near enought, i might send them to you...
That remind me that I haven't visited you guys in a while in mirc. You fonline faction mod begin to be talked about... :D

hello lisac2k.
I'm interested by your idea of video.
Reading I thing a lot of your tutorial , learning and eating a lot of aspirin to digest those concept, I'll be enjoy by it.

I'm working actually on a red head women in black leather .
There isn't too much red had women I find.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

I have made 3 tutorials (videos) and put it on:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxjrbLj0zA8 - this is the starting one, some basic stuff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2_uUEoHMjc - this one is the core of my painting method
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ceon8ebmgU - and the last one, concluding the issue

Although the 1st and the 3rd parts are intended for beginners, I strongly recommend to everyone (even the experienced users) to watch all of the tutorials chronologically.

I'll set up a FTP soon, so we can synchronize our work and keep up to date. Again, anyone interested in helping me with this should contact me via PM or Email (given in the end of the 3rd tutorial video).

Grayswandir: yes, my idea is to have the black dude in all animation sets just like the current hero. Samples will be available on the FTP ... FOnline: Factions Mod is progressing slowly, but steadily... We already have bunch of new features and are working on more. Let it be a pleasant surprise.

Lexx: hehe, I knew I can count on you.

bro: I tried to make the red headed female NPC a long time ago too... But never finished it. It'd be good to have such addition to the game. Anyway, contact me for more details about the FTP access.

Yeah - great stuff Lisac. Interesting technique you've developed there, and really well put together video too. Such a tutorial has long been needed

Unfortunately most of my modding time is taken up with the long-hair dude you can see above - but i would love to see the black dude in-game just as much. I can only offer to help with him when the long-hair dude is done....

Yeah, really nice, I especially the automated part, i use gimp and I don't know if it has such fonction.
Also really interesting technique, the brush tool, I would never have thought of that, easier than selecting the part. Does it work also for the middle of the arms of the leather and metal armor guy?
Following my experience with the black metal armor, those places needed a second paint.
Well, anyway, thanks for the tutorial, hope it will inspire lot of people (and that they will help us with the lon haired dude... :D )
You should ask the admin to put it in the faq or something.
Good luck.

it's great to see all those new critters! They are just like the existing ones!!

however these critters are ment for the playable character or joinable npc's right? These take a hugh amount of work (armor/weapons/difrent ways etc etc) Are there any plans to increase the amount of other unique critters as well? like the girl critter or the black dude that is currently into progress? Fallout's critters could use somewhat more variation. creating new critters won't take to much work compaired to the playable models right? (not be able to use all weapons for example)

But with all these critters would a mod that add such new critter, require updated maps into the mod, makeing it very large in size?

The critters that are done now could ofcourse also be used for a more variarity of NPC.

Yes, this is kinda drawback of the whole idea. If the part with the selections could be automated in GIMP too, it'd be great help for the people using it (and yourself, of course). It still can be done, but would require more time and patience.

Didn't try it yet, TBH. If the whole arm is "brushed" once, then the colours should darken equally (and this should look good, I guess). There's probably a part of the arm too bright to be darkened properly, so it might require one more "brush-click" on that area. I think that would help a lot.

Well, there are already many projects going on, I bet we will get more variations of the existing animations in a month or two... Which is not that bad. I have no intentions to make completely new critters right now, no time for it.

How dare you without my official, handwritten, stamped and signed permission on a papyrus? :P

I thought I might post it here too. Was doodling today, trying to figure out what Sulik's suit of Power Armor would look like. After the initail sketch I decided to see it 'in game', so to say. This is what I came up with.

I dug this out of an old thread. mmm looks nice.
