I vote for Mr. Long Hair.

They're looking great. I don't know if they've been done already, but might I suggest leaving the helmet out of the Combat Armour?

Good idea. But it will be more work

Also, can't you use Ian files from Fallout 1 to make the files from leather jacket for the hero?

Also a good idea, and was what i was thinking. There is the problem however of the ian animations lacking alot of weapon animations, however. And Greyswandir has already started with the generic hero body....

Wow.. Surprised : Grayswandir, you have almost completed the leather jacket animations!!

And Greyswandir has already started with the generic hero body....

Hé hé... Gotcha!
It IS in fact the ian model... But I still need to do 200 frames files or so.
I think i will need one mounth to finish it.

By the way, that statement means you will no longer be working on the leather armor animations?
Well I was merely stating that the leather jacket dude were fast already done, just top prevent any confusion.
And also the work I done on the leather armor : i think I only made the first 3 frm (standing walking hitting) i suggest you go on with everything except that, and in one month and 2 weeks, I come back to help you with the leather armor, and finish the A files if there ain't done already.
And when finished, we go on with the remaining leather jacket frame.

(on another note: where's the Skums Pitt? i can't seem to remember...)
The baron and I thank you!
The skumm pit is in junktown originally. But maybe I will change its place...

The same happened to me when trying to make a black combat armor without helmet...
Contrast is a bitch.
I have got a grey one btw. Easy to do for cassidy also using lexx files.
Otherwise i have other Ideas, but lets finish the long haired dude first...

@Josan exct there are so many animations now.

Like the sniper, new weapon smoke, hellless PA.

and alot critters, so i wish me a site where are all this animatuions to download NOT in a nma thread.

I have ssen this times ago, fallout art res... something^^

I think some of the user has a link to it in his signatur.

Dude, it take really a lot of reading to understand...
The fallout art repositery you mean.

As for myself, i have 1 giga of frm variation, and not the time to upload them one by one...
But i will release a technical demo in sometimes, with all my files in it...

yes you got it!

i know that you guys have alredy upload something. Like Josan his Vault 69 door our you the critters. I hope you will do this also with other stuff.

Hé hé... Gotcha!
It IS in fact the ian model...

What? How? color replacement or something?
(Does it have anything to do with what you said on an older post here about "tricking a little the death animation"?...also; can someone please explain to me how to post an animated critter here?, in "noobiest" terminology as possible?...if you feel like it you can PM about it...)

All right then. :ok:

Yep, that's right. The two model are exactly the same, except for the blue pants and the with shirt instead of black ones.

in "noobiest" terminology as possible?
With titanium, right click on the window, and save as .GIF.
Then you upload it normaly.
Thay's it!
:D

Hey Jotisz, care to join the train?
With you on board (and maybe Arek?) that would mean only 30, 35 files pro person to complete a critter ! Maybe even less...

Ok - i've started on LTHR bigguns:

We need a way to be clear about who is doing what as there's nothing worse than doing work thats already been done. Any suggestions? The wiki maybe?

Also - here's a few worksaving tips i learned:

1) Often, the first frame in any animation can be skipped, because it is often just the primary 'idle' frame (from AA). Thus it has no real effect on the animation other than slightly lengthening it.

2) Usually, both xC (draw) and xD (holster) don't need to be done. It's usually enough to do just one, and then simply reverse it in Frameanimator.

Does anyone else want to help out with this? More hands make light work ;) (and make it more likeley this will actually get done!)

@ Greyswandir: i like your recoloring of the 'ian' critter to look like the MAXX critter. But i would recomend sticking with the blue pants as quite a few people have requested it because it kinda looks like the vault suit underneath.

Thanks for your advice Grayswandir.

As Jack would say: Niccceee!!...

Reggarding who's doing what, I believe the score is this: Gradyswandir recently posted he was dedicated to the leather jacket, don't know if ArekBarlcerzak is on board but i suggested he makes the death animations for the leather armor, and I am currently making the knife animations and will continue to the A animations of the leather armor..that's it i think.

Ummm...don't know...the guy looks cool i know but 2 things: first, i am not the strict cannon-follower type but doing that would change the original hero critter look, not as important though as; second, how then will the big guns and melee animations be done without going through great lenghts of pain?

Yep! I have nothing against a Hero character in blue pants, since that, if all files were to be done, I could do any possible color for the hero pants (black, grey, green...)
But yeah... Greeaaat lenght of pain... Not only we would have to copy past the head. But also the white shirt. And the hard part, the pants!
I am not sure all the stance are represented in Ian (the minigun, the spear...) So it would be like making a whole new critter.
Recoloring the black pants in blue aren't an option. Even if we were to find the right color, we would alter the black traits making the form of the Ian ass...
Do we really have to go throught that much trouble?

Sounds like a good idea feel free to drop me a pm with a list of frms that would be needed to do.

No - you guys are right: it'd be way too much work. That's a shame. I wasn't sure how many weapon sets the 'ian' critter has but now i see it's not enough.

I guess it has to be done the usual way ... :(

Just a curiosity:

While working on the knife animations for the leather armor i noticed something i had not noticed in-game before; the Ian critter's knife animations are a little messed up, so far: the critter has no knife in his hand in the knife/walking animation (the DB) as it should, and also, in the pull-out knife animation, the Ian already has the knife in his hand in the first frame, then he does the motion to take it out and the knife dissapears from his hand only to appear in the next frame (as it should be)...

...and maybe something to keep in mind, Grayswandir, given that you are working on the leather jacket with the Ian critter as basis.

Sounds like a good idea feel free to drop me a pm with a list of frms that would be needed to do.

Hey cool!
You could maybe start with the hammer animation, or the last ones, the deads one from RA to RP.

I am going to drop a line at the Fonline forum to find another helping hand...

OK. Sounds easy to fix, for the Ian too, while i am at it.

I should have finished my critter by saturday, so, it looks good.
:D

Nice...

What you think of me new latino by the way?
Good enought to start mass production?

think i'll ask Dude101 to start a wiki page for us so we can log progress on this mod - time to settle in for the long-haul
Yeah good idea!
It will be easier to know who does what.

Wow, pretty good! Kepp it up guys, then maybe in the near future we can play Fallout as a black dude with or without long hair.

Nice work on that rocket launcher animation!
Once you finish the big guns animation i can use those heads for the rifle animations and be done with the small guns ones.

I've also done AA LTHR:

??, what do you mean?, :confused: because i see you posted the AA animations for the long hair guy in v13 jumpsuit, please clarify, for the next thing on my list to do is the remaining A animations for the leather armor (i say remaining because Grayswandir said he did the first 3 -AA,AB,AE- before moving to the leather jacket), so we don't start double-working...!!!

Also, i propose the following naming convention for the frm's of our hero critter (to give it different names than the original, this way they can't get confused with each other and they can't overwrite one another, plus i kinda like order), Josan12 used to call the guy "hippie" so that's what i propose:

HIP = long hair

HMHIPT = Tribal
HMHIPS = v13 jumpSuit
HMHIPJ = leather Jackets
HMHIPL = Leather armors
HMHIPM = Metal armors

That's what i have been using, let me know what you think...

Well, it's a more believable moreno (brown-ish) color than your previous one which was too red-ish...i like it.

Arf, the leather jacket looks better, as always...

Indeed...the leather armor just seems a little bit...i don't know...grainy?

Looking better. Can we see a screenie of them in-game? Also - have you tested all armors? Some will work better than others (like you say - the leather jacket is best cos it's mostly black) but some may not work well enough....

Oooops. Sorry. I uploaded that late last night and didn't notice it wasn't even LTHR .... :oops: So to be clear: all i've done for LTHR is the M set.

Yeah, i agree. It's not perfect but i doubt it'll be possible to get a much better result using color replacement. The problem is that it's very difficult to isolate the skin tones from the critter clothing/armor. You inevitalby re-color some of the critters clothing with their skin and if you're darkening the skin it will result in dark spots (grainy-looking) clothing.... but Grey's getting better so who knows....

I will try during this week and post the result. Althought a video might be better; they look quite good when they are'nt moving...

Nah, I am not sure i want to go there again. Like I said, (and you both) said, the leather jacket is the only one presentable.
And the one with the ian head on leather jacker works the best. (the last gif of him I posted were a mistake, dont take it under account). I was surprised that it worked too with a cassidy head, usualy the reflect on this bald head of his was an hindrance.
The normal hero head ain't photogenic enought even if I might use it for myself in small scale.
Or maybe I will do a brown leather armor one day, so i can have a black leather dude at last...
hmmztlaa2.gif
Concerning the metal armor, I have to say for my defense that the glitches on the armor are the same that those from the original (you "just" see them far better :D )

edit for comparaison with original and manual
