Gun Control

Yeah ... if only. We're all somewhat driven by our emotions even those that claim they are not or say they only believe in facts. I like to think that I am some one who's mostly driven by facts and rationality but I guess most of the time it's not the case. Besides when it comes to "guns" everyone has his own facts and maybe some study which confirms their points or bias or what ever. I would say pretty much everyone in this has VERY strong emotions and there is nothing wrong with that. Be it the people that defend their second amendment or the ones that want more gun regulations. All I am saying is you can find gun owners, republicans, hunters and even gun fanatics out there which might agree to better laws and regulations regarding weapons. Again the picture here is not as black and white here as some like to paint it. What we're right now doing is always and constantly looking at the 'extreme' positions in those debates which is in my opinion completely crazy. Where one sides acts like guns are the root and cause of all problems and the others think the constitution was written for protecting guns and not people.

And I am not saying you give up your opinion I just wanted to say you stated your opinion you didn't defeat the points I quoted. This isn't like a math equation or physics. You have a strong opinion on that matter which I respect but that's it. An opinion.

Well Crni I have posted before I agree on some regulation of the system, but most of the ones I agree with you will find lots of gun owners agree with, universal background checks, and sensible licensing. But there are many things brought up that I will never agree with as I don't think any one gun is more or less dangerous than another. Every gun can kill someone and anyone with training can kill a lot of people with any gun, the type of action, how big the mag is, and a lot of those are superficial that will not actually effect anything. If someone can be trusted to own one gun they should be trusted to own any gun. Giving me a big Ma deuce belt fed 50 cal with 5000 rounds on belts and you will not find one dead human body. You may find many dead cars and kitchen appliances as I go have a good time with it.

People control is more effective than gun control.

What is causing these knife deaths? Mental illness? Knife culture?

I would definitely say that my country has an unhealthy knife culture. I remember going to bars back in the day and guys had knives hanging from their belts openly, in a bar. That's effed up. The most common type of homicide in this country is someone who is drunk stabs another who is drunk. So yea, do we need better knife laws? Yea we do.

We also don't need more school shootings etc. that we've had.

Typical Finnish person.

Pretty stupid meme when you look how French prosecutor describe the murderer from Lyon mentioned by Toront, right?

During "confused" interviews with police, he said he was Muslim "who had heard voices saying God had been insulted and instructing him to kill", Jacquet said, adding that the case was being treated as a criminal, rather than terrorist, incident.
