Hell is not frozen yet! (Diablo 3)

So it was actually them trolling. Would be even more effective if at the end of this level you got slapped with an Error 37 and booted out.

Gotta hand it to Blizzard, they love to troll their fanbase. This kind of thing takes just the right amount of both arrogance and guts. I don't mind the color palette at all myself, so I find this funny, but I can see how some might see this being too open a mockery, especially after the disastrous launch day.

I can never understand why people have this need to rush off and buy a game on the day of it's release...is it just an addiction to gaming. I say - wait a few weeks while the bugs are being sorted, and the price drops.

It depends on how bad you like the game. I bought New Vegas as soon as it came out, but the bugs were pretty annoying. I usually wait until it drops in price though.

I thought that it was a joke that someone made with an external program since the palette is way off of Diablo 3.
Oh, I didn't realize that. Well, that changes things but it's still depressing how the difference didn't immediately jump out at me. I thought it was a regular Diablo 3 video until I noticed the unicorns.

Per the link, it's a hidden level. Like the cow level.

except that the cow level was a classic ... and judging just from the visuals this thing looks like pure shit.

The more I read here and the more I learn about Diablo 3 the less likely it is that I will buy it any time soon before it is very cheap.

Meh. Particularly this "always online for singleplayer" kind of thing really turns me off.

Hacks or not. But I am sure there is much more behind this than just that. Not to mention I am sure they could have figured a way how multiplayer is completely on the server while still being able to enjoy offline gaming.

I'm having a blast. Normal was ultra easy as expected, but the final boss fucked my shit up over and over and took me about 20 minutes to beat.

Nightmare is downright nasty, and I had to go buy a bunch of Dex/Vita gear from the AH (spent about 10% of my gold to completely kit myself out) as my DH's ~1300 HP pool had me dying in one hit from most everything. Now, sitting at a much more respectable 4504 and a few super defensive skill alterations later, I'm able to get through most situations without too much trouble.

What ever happened to the days when you just played a game and enjoyed yourself - now you have to navigate communities, and tussle with economies, meanwhile your confined to servers, and must lick the balls of the publishers...
Absolutely agree. I can't believe the masochism of gamers these days. They seem to be willing to tolerate any level of abuse to get their fix -- and that's after paying money for it.

hey is it at least easy to trade equipment from one of your character to another character you created? That was really one of the worst parts of Diablo 2.

I only played the beta, but I think the stash is shared. Not sure about that one, but the gold is indeed shared in a single account tho. Much easier to manage.

They added almost every improvement they made on UI while making WoW. It's good to know Blizzard learns and upgrades their design constantly, although one could say the graphic style shouldn't have. :P

Yes, the stash, gold and Artisan levels are shared among all characters on the account. I'm currently pushing starter edition to its limits. Don't want to buy full game before I finish my exams.

I'll also extend the request for a guest pass. I didn't play the beta a lot, and $ is scarce, so I'm still on the fence on whenever to buy it. 70$ ain't cheap. So if a charitable soul has a vacant pass, PM please.

Problem I've found is that too damn many people bought the digital version, which comes with no guest passes (why, I don't know). Between begging here, another forum, and trolling my Facebook and IRL friends, I've yet to get a hold of a guest pass. ~_~

I can't ignore the launch problems - they took the servers down on several occasions. And one of my friends was constantly being kicked out of games(error 3007 - oddly fixed by keeping the "General" chat room open NO JOKE).
But man, it's been a blast. We all bought the digital copy, so no guest passes unfortunately. If Blizzard ends up giving out guest passes for the digital copy, I'll let you guys know first.

jep as long they are not running perfectly I am not going to buy the game. I don't want to see my characters getting eventually delated or what ever because they cant manage to offer some offline-mode for those which would like to play the game in singleplayer. Alone.

What I don't get is how a company like Blizzard which made a game like WoW can deliver such a mess. I mean should they not have the experience?

I've got 2 guest passes. Was gonna sell them on D2jsp anyway, but they don't go for much, so if you guys still haven't found any you can have them. Just PM me.

Thank you for the offer, but now I actually got the full game. What can I say, peer pressure  .

Playing a Monk and Witch-Doc now, and I can honestly say I already love the gameplay. The Monk is very fast and hectic (level 9), can't wait until the higher levels. Witch-Doc is more passive, it plays very much like the Necromancer in D2. That said, several spells so far seem underwhelming; Corpse Spiders do little damage, while Firebats (Iseewatyoudidthere Blizz) empty your whole mana globe in seconds while providing little in return. Meanwhile, Grasp of the Dead slows enemies to a crawl in a pretty large area and deals damage to boot and costs very little on a short cooldown.

No connection problems so far, except one disconnect because of a service update to the Auction House. I still dislike the whole online DRM thing for a single-player game, but it's not intrusive to my game so far.

Also, I loooooooove the shared stash/gold/artisan level. Makes character management so much less of a hassle.

Just hit 60 a minute or so ago on my DH.

Soloed from Normal all the way through Hell, and hit 60 while killing Diablo.

Now it's time to check out inferno and get fucked up badly.

I thought it was supposed to be "hard" playing it? But when you can solo right from normal to hell ... then I guess its not THAT difficult after all.
