House of the Dragon

Like it or not, House of the Dragon Episode Three begins with a time jump. Over two years have passed since the events of the second episode, apparently. The new Queen, Alicent Hightower, has finally given King Viserys a male heir, named Aegon. We're at the young prince's second birthday, where everyone is eager to celebrate. You know who else has something to celebrate? HBO. If a raven hasn't delivered the message to you yet, House of the Dragon doubled its massive viewership numbers last Sunday from roughly 10 million viewers—to over 25 million.

They are probably still ridding on the GoT wave, I assume. Who knows? The Episode wasn't bad. Though I see your points. What hit me the most though, was killing of one of the really most interesting characters so far. That seemed a little ... soon? I call it the Snoke-Effect.
Just to establish Daemon as this big "bad ass" or something. I don't know. It even happend off screen. After getting hit in the knee by an arrow or something - I guess that brings an end to his adventurer days. That just didn't feel right and well done. For now the show seems a bit formulaic. Not bad. Not good. It's entertaining though. I am missing some of the stuff that made GoT interesting though. The schemes. The different motivations and character archs. For now everything seems a bit to same in many instances. Like when I think back about GoT, each character had their own personality, experiences and different visions which sometimes had to do with their upbringing and class or the difference between the houses and cultures. Dornish was different to Highgarden, mercenaries acted differently to lords and knights and so on. It created very interesting and tense moments/conversations when those characters clashed. When the "Spider" talked to little Finger or the Starks and Lanisters. Even though both Houses placed a lot of value on their "Family" they did it for completely different reasons and in different ways. I kinda miss that in this show. The nuances.

As someone who read Fire and Blood, I agree the problem is they seem determined to rush through way through George R.R. Martin's notes. You could easily do an entire season on the War of the Stepstones, which lasted NINE YEARS in the books, and they've reduced it to a three year war.

Yeah. I feel they honestly should just take their time with the show to give the characters room to breath and develope - well they probably obviously can't anymore with this season as it's already done so we have to wait and see what the other Episodes bring.

But they already do have an IP that will probably shit gold in the future, that feels fresh enough as far as fantasy goes and Martin is a good writer/advisor - except when it comes to finishing his own god damn stuff. It almost seems like HBO is kinda afraid here to "bore" their viewers or something. But that's exactly what people want I think from this show, the stuff that someone like Todd-who's-laughing-now-Howard would call "boring".

The dialogue. The interaction. Battles and action scenes are just the cherry on the cake where plot devices get resolved, characters killed, schemes unraveld or destroyed. Like when you think back about, the Sept of Baelor, the High Sparrow and how it ended. Easily one of the best part of the show. But only because we've seen all the interaction between the characters, the smaller and biger ones and the High Sparrow. It wouldn't have had nearly the same kind of impact if it happend after 3 Episodes where you don't even knew half of the cast outside of a few short scenes. And that's the main issue with this Crab-Battle in the new show. It just happend too suddenly.

Biggest launch on Prime video ever lmao
More like the biggest flop, the biggest critic censorship, the biggest demonization of fans. And the biggest money laundering, if the rumour about poor props and costumes is to believed.

There is no reason to not believe Amazon would lies about their number, given they are too insecure about the freaking IMDB rating out of all things.

Nah, I'll just let people know to not waste their time.
Oh but then again, I heard you cannot provide "true criticism" unless you watch the Show?

It's like we are not allowed to complaint and have to...consume!

Rigght, as if you provide criticism to Doom 2016 or CoD you must hate modern fps in general.
Or if you dislike Cyberpunk 2077, you must hate Cyberpunk genre as well.
Oh nevermind that in earlier page of this thread I love the particular foreign languages speaking in the Show.
What shit same argument that have been repeated from like weeks ago. It's all based upon suspicion and one sided claim about my thought.

Curious though, I barely mentioned the show content, just the scummy corporate practises.
What are you trying to imply here?

Even if you like the Show, you can't just support their attitude like that.

Have you tried not getting invested on stuff you dislike?

I don't watch high fantasy, that shit gay.

I smell too much of double standard. Please reflect. I barely complaining about modern media except certain show or some features in NuFallout.

Walpknut is the biggest hypocrite. He whined forever when Cowboy Bebop was shit.

I am simply making fun of hatedoms as they always result in giving the stuff they dislike high selling numbers and ratings lmao

I only whined for a week then stopped and then it got cancelled because most people, simply stopped bothering with it rather than make a hatedom out of it lol

Well Eissa likes LOTR more than Fallout I wager so they are gonna talk about it. Plus stfu about them talking about it because these forums are boring and dead.

God, I swear I can just use Walpknut quotes over and over again in the span of few minutes.

But really I invite you in sincere friendly gesture, to the LOTR thread in The Order. There's actual constructive criticism of what could possibly be done. I swear it's not about the usual racist stuff that "most fandom" ussually complained.

There's ongoing shit hypercapitalist practise that Amazon did. Barely about races if that's what your main concern.

Walpknut does not like fun unless he is in on the game. NO WEEBS ALLOWED. Speaking of fun this show is getting decent reviews but I will not watch until I can binge it safely for sure.
