I think Nuka World and Far Harbor were quite good.

I want to say... exactly, something not like that.

But yes, I think Fallout could do with some more Spaghetti Western morality.

There's a bit too much goody-goodness in the games.

Some more options to play an amoral mercenary would be good and two sides with good points who, nevertheless, will murder each other for trivial reasons.

The Institute and BoS could have learned form the Stormcloaks and Imperials.

I disagree, grey morality is all that's necessary. Not specifically predictable spaghetti western versions.

Honestly, I respect Fallout 3 for the fact it feels like a post-apocalypse game in a way very few other games don't. If any game should be re-released with a Survival Mode in the series, it should be Fallout 3.
There are mods that add survival mode. And since I don't waste an opportunity to advertise projects I am part of, Playing Fallout 3 using the TTW mod (massive project is more like it) will allow to use FNV hardcore mode or use any of FNV's complementary survival mods.

I love both Far Harbor and Nuka World for different reasons as well as think them better than the main game which spawned them.

1. Far Harbor really does feel more like how a Fallout game should be resolved rather than pure slaughter like the unabashed fun of Adams Air Force Base. You can have Dima executed, you have wipe out the factions, or you can do a peace series of manipulations. It also touches on the discussions of sentience and A.I which the main game only loosely dealt with. I've commented elsewhere the Synths are a poor choice to discuss this topic as they obviously LOOK human and ACT human so why bother debating their humanity?

Whereas Codsworth and Pre-Synth Curie and Nick DON'T look human while acting human. Dima, by being a sentient-seeming computer, makes the Synth question more interesting. I also like the fact Dima doesn't act or think entirely human either but has a mixture of cold-blooded machine logic with intellectual pacifism. The Harbormen are a likable but superstitious faction. The Children of the Atom are an "evil" faction but it's clearly the fact their leader is an asshole while the majority of the regular members are just following orders.

I also loved the fact the game feels like a gigantic enormous radioactive cloud. There's a good mix of humor as well with a certain red eyed monster and other quests.

2. Nuka World....Nuka World is awesome. There's just no other way to describe it. What if there was a place with all the zip of Nuka Cola? The Magic Kingdom is such a real life celebration of greed and faux American sentimentality, this is a wonderful place to discuss the underlying themes of Fallout.

It is also Raider-focused content and I love me some Raiders. I would totally make the next Fallout protagonist The Raider. Its a beautiful piece of DLC in terms of design, gameplay, and sheer fun as I feel like it's probably the best thing Bethesda has done with Fallout. However, I have to say I feel like it's underwritten as compared to Far Harbor or The Pitt. There's some great bits to the storytelling like the fact you can have an appeasement ending with the Raiders, Gage's backstory about how he became a Raider, and the return of Sierra Petrovita.

Unfortunately, we don't get any sidequests related to the Raider Bosses backstories like Mason's assassination of the previous Bosses, Daisy's serial murders, or the Blacks getting revenge on their family. Nevertheless, I laughed my ass off at the Hubologist quest and was generally creeped out by the Grandchester Mystery House.
It's just pure FUN.

Well, I just checked and it looks like Nuka Worlds rating have gone down a full point putting it 47.7% of the people that played it enjoyed it. This is good news because it shows that there is a majority that sees that it is really bad. and in other good news, the slight boost Nuka World gave to the amount of people playing Fallout 4 has warn off and Skyrim takes the lead again. Nothing says success like a 5 year old game being played more then the 1 year old game.

Fallout 4 - Nuka-World AKA Bethesda's worst scoring world space DLC 47.77%

Fallout 4 21,963 In-Game
Skyrim 23,017 In-Game

It's okay if you like Nuka World, but you have to remember that you're in a minority if you do. Many people will disagree.

The Difference between Fallout by Obsidian/Black Isle vs Bethesda.

Black Isle and Obsidian don't try to make it seem like Fallout, it is Fallout.
Bethesda tries to make their Fallout seem like Fallout.

Well people are probably still playing skyrim cuz it has some replay-ability rather than listiening to the same voice actor saying the same lines again

Plus there are some nice mods that inject some rp like "become a bard" so if the core game doesn't do it for you, you probably can find something that spices it up a bit.

Having read all of those reviews, it seems pretty damn clear the DLC is getting flak for the fact it is the last Fallout 4 one as well as a bunch of expectations for the expected remaining 3 Expansions and only being one. The criticisms are very much of the "It wasn't what I wanted" verus "I'm judging what it is." Then again, even I admit the campaign lacks much flavoring for a stereotypical good character.

But I am still saddened and underwhelmed by gamers who can't enjoy post-apocalypse Disneyland or a refreshing glass of Nuka Cola made by your own hand.

But it's so terrible!
Sure the concept is neat. But we shouldn't judge something entirely on its concept- execution plays a large factor also. Aside from literally game breaking bugs there's a plethora of other problems- from plot holes to gameplay issues. You've obviously seen my Nuka rant, so please break down every one of my criticisms, I'd love to debate why Nuka World is one of the worst expansions for an RPG in the history of gaming. After forcing myself to play it I can say that 100% seriously.

This is Fallout. Where we once saw groups of different ideologies emerging after a global nuclear war and seeing how they clash against each other and how humanity still fights itself despite losing so much. Now it's silly theme parks and soda making.

Don't forget squirt guns. And painted ghoul clowns. And bumper car powered electricity armour. And a guy achieving immortality by becoming a Futurama character. I could go on, but I'm just regurgitating shit we already know is shit at this point.
