"Well Rob what'll it be?" Fenix had held his damaged arm out for almost 30 seconds and it hurt like hell.

No answer came from Rob. On closer inspection Fenix realised Rob was unconscious.

"Ugh,you freaking wuss."

Fenix grabbed Rob's pack from his nightstand and took 2 stimpacks out to treat his wounds. Then he bandaged himself and psyched up to get his ass to the fight he had heard.

He hobbled over to a nearby table and collected his pile of stuff before limping out of the tent...............

rob woke up,he grabbed his armour and put it on,he took his weapons and items and headed out the tent,he walked over to fenix.

"truce"said rob as he extended his hand"you did good out there"

Jack begain to systematicly mow down the raiders.
The other recruits put up a hail of fire, which provided him with all the cover he needed as he raked the raider ranks.
With the big .50 cal's firepower, and the BOS members in the power armour, the raiders ranks begain to break.

Just after Kahgan had roamed through the dead raiders stuff, he heard a loud voice giving orders to stop shooting the vehicles"Fucking idiot! Makes me wont to blow up all their vehicles" "Well, i just better get used to it, besides, he does have a point"

That was when he heard the sound of to motorbikes approaching, he watched to the sides and saw they were heading right towards him. "Hmm...maybe its time to try out this sniper rifle" He quickly brought it up, and took a shot at one of the bikes, he missed andtried again, this shot hit, and killed him instantly.
Then he took out his UZI, and jumped behind cover. The remaining biker drove past him swinging the club near kahgans face, While He was turning the bike, Kahgan Tied the rope to a pole, and ran a few yards back, when the raider came back, he streched out the rope before the raiders throat. "Thats gotta hurt!"

OCC- Welsh here. Thorgrimm, a good post over all but you are making it too damn easy to kill mutants. Remember, a good story depends on good bad guys. SO I am making a few minor changes.

ICC-
"Damn this Mutie is smarter than i thought, but the dumbfuck STILL hasn't learned any respect for the humans they so callously kill."
Thor kept this mutie in sight as the greenskinned bastard tracked him. He was leading this vermin into a trap, and the dumb ignoramus did not know it. Thor was using the muties disdain for humanity against him. As Sun Tzu taught all those years ago, use your enemies weakness against him, and the muties arrogance was going to be his down fall.

Thor was leading an armored Mutant with two others of his band into the mountains. All the while looking for an ambush site to finish the vermin off so he can get the information he needed from the leader.

"Hot damn I finally found the spot!” Thor thought to himself. "They are following me into a box canyon in about 3 miles. Good thing my mother was from this area and would come back to visit."

Thor increased his speed to get farther ahead of the supermutants and prepare a proper reception for the bastards. About twenty minutes later he found the position he was looking for. It was an overhang that looked into the center of the end of the box canyon , and had a game trail leading down to the canyon. Thor set up his sniper rifle and waited.

The supermutants appeared about 30 minutes after Thor set up his welcoming committee.
"Killer I thought you said this was the way the humie was going? said the armored mutant.
"Krogan say, him could have sworn it was this way. "
"So what the bloody hell are we doing in a box canyon?"
Just as the armored mutant stated that fact He realized that he had been suckered by that piss ant of a human!! Just then one of his men droped with a heart shot.
The other turned to face this new opponent, "There!" And then he fell with a head shot. Still the wounded mutant tried to get up, but another two shots in rapid succession put this one down.

"Who are you!? Show yourself you fuckin coward!" the armored mutant roared.

Just as Thor heard the leader bellow in enraged frustration he put on his rifles safety, and he then headed down the game trail to confront the mutant. Thor stopped about 30 yards from the survivor, and said
"I am the vengeance of the innocent men, women, and children you have butchered, but before I send you to hell I am going to get the information I need from you."
"Little man put down your gun and I will be the one doing the information gathering before I send you to hell" he said with an evil laugh."
"I am suprised a no balls and no brains imbecilic moron like you knows what the word information means." Thor said as he taunted the Mutant into rash action.
The mutant bellowed in rage and charged Thor, but Thor had chosen his distance carefully. Knowing full well the speed of these giants, as he has fought these vermin ever since his family was killed 10 years ago, he had enough distance to drop his sniper Rifle and draw his K-Bar.

The mutant roared as he grabbed for the irritating little puke that had the balls to show himself to be ripped apart by his bare hands. As this human did not deserve his bullets! Just as the mutant was close enough to try and grab for him Thorgrimm crouched, and rolled to his left. As he was crouching he brought his K-Bar across the mutants tendon holding his kneecap in place. When he started his roll he brought the combat knife back across the back of the mutants calf near the knee to cut the hamstring and cripple this monster.

He could not believe his eyes! This human was faster than any he had fought before. He had him in reach, then he was gone.
"aargh!" white hot fire exploded in his right leg as he felt the knife cut both his kneecap loose and his hamstring severed. At that moment he knew he was dead, just a matter of time. Thor finished his roll then stood watching as the mutant writhed in agony holding his right leg lying on the ground.

Still the creature tried to stand. As Thor came to deliver another blow, the mutant's hands reached out and caught Thor in the head, knocking the man down and away. Had the mutant not been injured, had it used it's full force, Thor's head would have left his shoulders. Still the shot was dizzying. But the creature was still crippled and trying to move. Thor took advantage and came up to him again, quickly, delivering a blow with the pummel of his knife. knocking the mutant out cold. Then Thor began to secure the mutants arms behind his back and bound his legs.

When the Mutant woke a few seconds after Thor finished securing him he said, "Now monster we shall get down to business. Where are your masters located at?"
"Fuck you human!" Krogan growled out.
"Well mutant it looks like your the one about to get buttfucked. We shall try this another way for every question you do not answer or lie about I will make a non lethal cut. I am sure that a monster your size can take a lot of cuts before dying. If you answer my questions I will leave you alive, but you will be weaponless and crippled".
"Fuck you human!"
"Ok have it your way."

“OK, one last time, are you going to cooperate? Or am I going to have to carve pieces out of you?”
“FUCK YOU HUMAN!” The Mutant said as he roared out his defiance.
“Predictable, not smart, but predictable” Thor sighed.
After working on the mutant for 1 hour, it had been reduced to a quivering mass of agony, but Thor got no information from the mutant. Either it didn't know or it was too stubborn to cooperate.

"Shit no wonder they were not caught before now", Thor sighed to himself. Thor slammed the K-Bar into the base of the mutants skull to end its misery. He then gathered the gear that the mutants were carrying and stashed it in a small cave in the canyon wall. As he was leaving the buzzards began to descend.
"Bon Appetit" he said to the buzzards.

He had promised himself that the mutie with the human heads would be the first to die by his hand. Instead he had done what was necessary. These muties will never learn that their greatest weakness is the underestimating of the enemy, and would always underestimate the enemy. Just like the buzzard meal lying behind him." Another 6 to my tally, 94 to go." he thought.
He had to get this information to somebody who could do something with it, so he picked up his speed and headed up into california looking for help.

OCC-- ok, note edited changes. 100 mutants in this company. Of course there are more companies.

Fenix slowly extended his right hand to Rob with a grimace of pain

"fine then,truce."

Rob seemed to relax.Fenix smiled"But I am not paying for your stims and I hope your shoulder burns like a bitch until you die."

Rob stared at Fenix like he was fuckin' nuts.

He couldn't help but laugh."I'm just yankin' yer chain dude, but seriously if you ever burn my labcoat again I will shoot you in the foot."

Rob laughed and threw a lit match at Fenix's coat which fell just short.

Fenix laughed and shot a searing beam of light which missed Rob's foot by a mere inch.

"I hope you understand how serious I am."

Jack had relinquished control of the .50 cal to a wounded BOS soldier that had came limping up to the fight, and headed out.
He rememberd that there was another recruit out in the trench 's, and Jacks goal was to link up with him.
The male recruit that had captured the truck with him had got wounded, but the redhead was uninjured, and followed him.
"One of our guys is caught in that trench complex" Jack explained
"Ah, aha. Then we should see if he is in need of assistance."
"I'm Jack, by the way." Jack said extending his hand.
"Tenel Ka." she replied, meeting his firm handshake with a vicelike grip.

OCC

Kahgan, my PC and the NPC will link up with you, if you dont mind.
If you need to write us in your scene, feel free.
My PC prefers to stay back and take good aim, and the NPC is good at HtH, but can shoot well as too.

One of the BOS troopers, a corporeal who had been with Max's wolves through much of the battle, readied his weapons and waited. The hunger to join the fray was nearly overwhelming, but his discipline kept him in check.

"Major, shall we join the engagment." Asked the Corporeal, speaking for his squad and the platoon.

"No, we shall observe." Said the Major.

The major had little doubt that if the Wolves were deployed the raiders would have been soundless and effortless defeated. Raiders in plasma cell or even alcohol fed buggies and bikes were no match to BOS in power armor and chain-guns.

It would have been too easy.

Instead the Major watched the battle unfold, more to test his second-in-command then to observe the irregulars in combat. The irregulars were a ruthless lot of dogs. THey were feasting on the raiders with a vengence. Those raiders who had come expecting to pick the corpse of the Hub had been surpised at the ferocity of these pitbulls.

But they were still dogs, untrained for the discipline of battle. And like dogs they needed to be whipped into shape to serve their new master.

But Max was more concerned with his second. The man had a certain harsh ruthlessness that was good in a BOS officer. But he was too impetutous. A hunter needed to be cool and calculated when delivering the coup de grace.

A good leader fights on battle fields of his own choosing. He delivers his strike like a thousand lightning bolts, he knows his men and he wastes not his resources.

A better plan would have been to allow the raiders into the city, ambush and destroy them in the street. An even better plan would have been to recruit them to serve the BOS cause.

Ah well, at least Arco had ruthlessness, First the steel must be hot, then it can be tempered.

"Arco." Said the Major over a radio. "When the raiders make their retreat speak to me."

"Aye Major." Said the curt reply. "Your intentions sir?"

"We will break bread with these raiders and recruit the survivors into our cause."

Further South.

A few hours later, Krogan came across the bodies of the dead Mutant, including the one who had been tortured. It was the buzzards flying around the body that were the final marker, although the trail had not been so hard to follow.

As usually Krogan hunted alone. Other mutants were nearby, but the more that moved together, the easier they were to spot and easier to pick off. Like these three. Krogan preferred to move silently, and in the dark places, so that the enemy would not know his where abouts until it was too late. It was something he taught his men. To trick was to close with the enemy and be atop of him. But to do that, one needed to move quietly, gracefully, with cunning and surprise.

These three had been easily duped, ambushed and slaughtered. It was good that the leaders did not share much information with the rank and file, or the Mutants would be more exposed.

Such weak mutants were fit for the buzzards.

Still blood must be paid in blood.

It was one human. He had killed well, the few shots he had fired had been enough, were critical hits. A hunter experienced with a rifle. But the cuts on this last one showed he was good with the knife.

It had been too long since Krogan had fought a worthwhile adversary in the old ways. His hunger thirsted for the blood of a skilled warrior.

The tracks were moving in a different direction now, north and west, back to California. But he was confident that they would soon meet face to face.

OCC

No problem Psycho, feel free to edit Kahgan in...he's a fighter character, not very talkative, and very, very stubborn

ICC

Just after finishing of the biking raiders, Kahgan sought cover to think over what to do next. He ran over to an old rusty vehicle and viewed the battle, he saw to people running towards him, his eyesight wasn't so good, so he couldn't see who it was. When they got a little closer, he recognized one of them, the combat armoured character from the roof-top, the other one was unknown to him, a woman apparently. He saw a raider climbing out from a trench just to the right of the two figures, he quickly pulled the 10mm and gave him a painful shot, snaring his throat. The running ones almost stopped, for a second thinking he was shooting at them, but as they heard the gargling screem from a raider with blood sprouting from his mouth and throat, they understood, and ran further.

They reached the burnt out old wreck Kahgan was sitting behind a short moment after. After regaining breath, Jack asked: "Need any help?". "I dont mind" Kahgan answered. "So what do ya say, we go back to the Hub, or we sit hear on our asses and watch?" Kahgan said, hoping for some more fighting.

ICC

"I'd say we stay here. it's safest" Jack said
"That is a fact, the enemy know's we are here now and we would likley recive more concentraded supresseve fire if we attempted retreat."
"Womans got a point, uhhh" Kahgan paused not knowing their names.
"By the way, my names Kahgan."
"Jack O'Neil."
"Tenel Ka."

OCC

Ok Kahgan, Jack has the nade launcher, and a .45 pistol
Tenel Ka has a .223 pistol and a the blade as mentioned above.

Thor headed back into California with all possible haste that stealth would allow. He was thinking that the three muties he had ambushed would just drive the smart mutie to pursue that much harder. He used all the tricks of the trade, in trying to lose that mutant, using traps, pits, streams and solid rock to hide his trail. So he could try to warn the only organization, that just might be able to do something about it, The Brotherhood of Steel.

"That was one smart damned mutie to track me so fast. Fortunate for me his minions were not quite as smart as he was," Thor thought with grudging respect for his foe.
He had been killing muties for 10 years now, and had never been tracked by mutants so fast. That had instilled in Thor the urgency to find help, as if this mutie was an indication of how different these ones were, then humanity may be in for a world of hurt.

The army of Arco had surrounded the remaining raiders. He order the remaining raiders to stand down and his men to do the same. They complied and the raider's leader stepped forward to address Arco.

"I am Frenik, leader of this group, and we agree to stand down. Now what are your terms?"

Arco called Max on the radio, "Sir, the raiders have agreed to surrender."

"Good, I want you extend them a welcome to cause."

"Yes, Major."

Arco turn to their leader, "The terms are that you join our little group."

"Why?"

"We need more men and you will provide." Arco said sternly.

“What is your group’s purpose?”

Arco didn’t see any harm in telling him since he was going to a member of the group. “We hunt the remnants of the mutant army. For your cooperation you will receive your worthless lives and a portion of the supplies we find on this endeavor. That is if you live that long.”

“ Then we agree”

“Good. Follow me.” Arco led the group of raiders to the main camp and allowed them to settle in. “We leave at first light of dawn, so be ready.”

Arco sent out scouts and medics to evaluate the damage. A total of 23 dead and approximately times two wounded on both sides. The condition of the vehicles was total; none had survived in working order. The best they could hope to do was taking the unscathed fusion cells and discarding the rest. Arco went to see the major and report the results of the battle. From the moment he stepped into his presence, Arco could tell that the Major wasn’t happy with his decisions on the battlefield.

“Captain, your battle skills still empress me. What doesn’t impress me is your tactics. Have you forgotten the teaching of Sun Tzu, Caesar, and Riker? Your strategy was reckless, Captain. Although you have displayed that these recruited dogs have more potential than I first thought, your actions have greatly made me question you as an officer and whether or not you deserve your command. Arco, this is a warning and an advisement, evaluate your decisions more rationally. We need all the recruits we can get to acomplish this mission and you know that. Leave your report on my desk and get the men ready to leave in the morning.” Arco left his report on the desk without uttering a word.

Major Max was absolutely right. Arco’s ability to inspire the men under him was quite admirable but he was still a young officer with much learn. He had learned some of that during the early Hub campaign, but it had cost him most of his squad. Arco looked over the camp at the group of ruffians.

“We will be leaving first thing in the morning. I suggest that you get something to eat, prepare your gear, and get some rest. But first I want you get all the supplies that can salvaged. You have until nightfall”

Arco went to temporary infirmary to make sure that the limited medical supplies were used properly as it might be awhile before they get any more. Most of the non-fetal wounds were easily treated, mostly minor cuts and bruises, much the like cut above Arco’s left eye from a raiders head butt. Arco had failed the test for the day but the real test of his ability would begin in the morning with the rising of the sun. Arco waited for his dogs of war to report back with the equipment roster as he watched a surgeon sew a man’s eye brow back onto his face

As the raiders surrenderd, Jack collapsed and allowed his heavy breathing from the run to turn into panting.
"Freind Jack, are you injured ?" The red haired recruit asked, Tenel Ka Jack rememberd her name to be.
"Na, hes just a fat ass." Kahgan quiped.
"Hey...gasp...you try to..gasp..keep in shape living in a...gasp...vault."

"Aw, its awright, after all you got that combat armour on ya" Kahgan replied.
"C'mon Tenel Ka, let's get him up"
So they each took him in one arm and lifted him up on his feet. "Now just walk, we'll help ya" Said Tenel Ka
"It'll be fun to get ya in shape" Kahgan said in a chuckle.

After a short walk, they reached the Hub and heard Arco's orders of leaving first thing in the morning.
"You two go and get somethin' to eat, and save some for me to" Kahgan said as he went over to the market in the Hub
"Where are you going?" Jack shouted, but Kahgan didnt answer. He went over to the GUNS shop, or what was left of it, and sold the sniper rifle he found for a great deal of 9mm ammo, if he was gonna use the UZI on the mutants, he would need LOTS of ammo.
After that, he went back to the camp, and ate and ate and ate a little more. "What the hell did ya do in the Hub, Kahgan?" Jack asked "Aw...just sold some stuff" he mumbled between the eating. "What did you sell?" it came from Tenel "Uhm...let me think, a sniper rifle, some knives and stuff..." "WHAT?! You sold a sniper rifle?" "Yeah, so?" "You could have taken out ten thousand mutants with that!" "Not me, I have a lousy eyesight, besides, an UZI iis much more fun" He said with the same grinn as when he attacked the raider with the sniper. Then he layed closer to the fire, and fell asleep.

Tenel Ka eyed her two new companions warily as the sun set.
Kahgan had proven himself to be a capable warrior, if psychotic.
Jack was the exact opposite.
Sure, he knew how to use his guns, but he seemed to prefer to sit back and snipe.
'At least his sniping with a grenade launcher is effective. That is a fact.'
As the evening grew late, Jack and Tenel Ka were forced to sit next to each other, as other recruits wanted to sit near the fire as well.
'A possible friend, this Jack is. He has not even attempted to touch me in an untoward way yet.'
It was then that Tenel Ka realized that Jack might be asleep, although his slumping to the side leaning on her taller frame was an exellent clue.
She grimaced for a moment as Jack began drooling slightly, but ignored it as her green gecko hide armor kept it off of her.
'Perhaps mother was right, you must accept your friends faults as well as their strengths.'
Then Jack and Kahgan began snoring, though Jack was much louder.
'Or perhaps she was mistaken afterall.' She thought with an slight mood of levity as she too drifted off to sleep.

OOC: Welsh and Albatross i hope you do not mind this little character interaction?

Corr had called back his chief lieutenant, as he needed him for other duties, not pursuing one lone human.
"Korr why in hell did you call me off of the pursuit of this human"! Krogan roared at his commander.
"Because i need you to organize the harvesting of Mexicali in our next step towards Nevada". Korr Replied.
Krogan thought for a minute, as he wanted more than anything else to kill this human who, even if a skilled warrior, had killed his brethren.
Didn't you say that our main mission was to get prisoners who are worthy of 'dipping'"?
Korr did not like where he was going, but was unable to prevent it. "Yes i did, why"? But he fully well knew what Krogan was going to say.

" I think this human i have been pursuing is the only one we have seen that is worthy of the honor to dip. Look how easy he has killed the rank and file. He even killed one of our armored warriors in Hand to Hand combat." Krogan said hoping that his commander would give the green light to continue the pursuit of this human so he could kill him, not dip him.

Corr thought on this for a while. He knew his second in command, and knew he would not bring him back without orders.
"Krogan, you are right, this has been the most worthy human so far, i want you to bring him back ALIVE! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME"?
Krogan looked like he had just swallowed a giant roach, "yeah, i understand you, but can i at least injure him"?
"Only if the injuries are NOT permanent, is THAT understood"?
"Yeah, Korr the orders are understood".
I will give you one warrior, yourself, and 1 week to find this human. After that you are to meet us in Arizona at the next stopping point. Is THAT understood"?

Again, Krogan looked like he had swallowed a huge roach, as he just realized he had been outmaneuvered by his commander. All the restrictions on him made it clear that this Human is to be brought back alive and in fully functioning condition, if not found he was to proceed to Arizona.

Thor ran for his life. Never before had he felt such fear. Not fear of death, but fear of meeting something he wasn't sure he could kill. Thor was one of the deadliest men alive. A knifeman without peer and an expert in long combat but against this Mutant he was not sure he would survive. He could hear the lead mutant's harsh breathing behind him, closing fast. He fired over his shoulder, but heard the bullet smack into a tree trunk. Realising guns were useless now, he holstered them clumsily, his speed making it difficult. Thor sped through the trees, a pair of mutated killers following close behind him, and it dawned on the sniper just how flawed his plan had been.

"Well fuck it', he thought. He was about to skid to halt and face what he was beginning to consider the inevitable, when his unnaturally sharp vision allowed him to see the thick branch hanging about ten feet up, some fifteen feet ahead. He had to make it. His brain would not accept anything less now and he ran. Leaping up and grabbing the branch, he felt something whistle past his neck, disturbing the air. Swinging up and over the low bough he dropped to the ground in a crouch, landing easily and drew his K- Bar with his right hand. Fear had held him in its grip long enough. Thor watched the mutant skid to a stop and turn to face him, its bestial face twisting into a look of fury. This mutant had its turn, now Man would take a swing. Thor charged.

Krogan held back, surprised by the turn of events. He had been pursuing this human for 5 days now, and he had run a good run. But was evidently tiring, as he had made the mistake of doubling back, as Krogan had anticipated by his previous actions. They had run him for the last 4 hours, when all of a sudden the human jumps into a tree and catches his companion by surprise. He would give this human the honor of facing him 1 on 1 if he survived the encounter with his man.

The huge mutant met Thor's charge, though the odd courage its prey displayed gave him momentary pause. A pause that just became an opening for the ferocious and desperate human. All doubts vanished. Poppa was right, think you will lose and you will. Know you will win and you just might. Still didn't quite sound fair but that's life. The mutant roared as it swung a mutant sized club at the charging human, expecting that would end the struggle as it had done so many times before. Meeting only air, the heavy club continued its course, pulling the overextended mutant into an unintended step forward, desperately trying to compensate and keep its balance.

Shock hit the mutant's brain like an anvil as it felt an impossible sensation. Excruciating pain, lancing through its abdomen. Thor withdrew the K- Bar, continuing his roll that had taken him under the mutant's deadly swing. The mutant tried to turn to face the unbelievably fast human but the shock of the wound and the slippery loose soil slowed the normally quick mutant. Thor swung the K- Bar down into the mutant's kneecap, kneecapping the howling mutant. snarling obscenely, the mutant started to go down but it slammed a hand down on the ground and righted itself, lashing out with its other hand. Dodging the hatred filled swipe, Thor closed with the Mutant and sliced it across the belly, transecting his previous vertical cut. Steaming innards slopped out of the mortally wounded mutant, but its brain had never learned the concept of defeat and the mutant powered forward, using its one good leg and swung the club at Thor's head.

Leaping back, only a second before his head vanished into a spray of bone and brains, the mutant's club swished by, it missed him by a hair's breadth. The mutant's stone hard head pounded Thor's chest, and his breath was smacked out of him when he fell back to the ground. Kicking up at the looming monster he snapped its head back, then using the momentum of his moving leg, he rolled backwards out from under the mutant as it toppled to the ground like a felled tree. It growled defiance even as Thor made it to his feet and leaping astride its back, Thor slammed his K- Bar deep into the dying mutant's skull, twisting the blade, destroying the mutant's brain matter. Finally convincing the mutant it had lost. A final shaky breath escaped the dead mutant and then it was still.

Krogan was impressed, as this human had bested one of his best melee men in hand to hand combat. This would be so enjoyable, he thought to himself.

Thor sagged back on the fallen mutant's broad back, and took the deepest gasp of air he had ever taken as the the triumph of his survival hit him. I didn't expect that to happen, he thought. A low level laughing made him leap off the carcass, dragging his knife with him, and he stood poised above the dead mutant, ready to hack it to pieces before he realised the noise came from the undergrowth towards the he had came.
"Luck will only get you so far." he muttered under his breath. "Damn, no one will ever know about this mutant threat till it is too late”.

Pride never went away. Never. He could see the mutant coming through the shadows towards him. Its gangrenous green hide made it stand out, from the brown foliage. As it stepped into the light he could see it was the mutant with the human heads!!

"You want some of this too?" he called to the Mutant, which had now realised he had been spotted and was advancing more confidently. The sight of his fallen brother stopped him for a moment but he soon continued towards him.

"You have fought well, a true and skilled warrior, you will make an excellent addition to the new growing mutant army"! Krogan said, full of confidence of his ability to defeat this human.
"I will never join your vile army"! Thor said in full defiance.
Who said you would 'volunteer', i am on a 'draft' call, and you have been drafted. Krogan said with a laugh as he advanced towards the human.

Thor could tell this one was smarter. It respected the human, having seen what he had done to the overconfindent mutant. They circled each other, both combatants looking for the ideal moment to strike. Thor knew it was pointless, he could maybe avoid the first few attacks and land some good blows, but the mutant would win in the end. The depressed human suddenly noticed dust rising in the distance, heading from the way he was going. The mutant noticed Thor's momentary distraction and charged. The sniper dived to the side but even as he did so he saw how impossibly fast the mutant was. He knew he wouldn't make it. "Arhgg!" he bellowed as the mutant's axe raked his side, tearing through the thin side armor and slicing his flesh. Rolling away, his mind clouded by the sudden, incredible pain as he smacked into a tree trunk. The mutant made a strange rasping noise and Thor realised with disgust that the Mutant was laughing at him. Anger flowed through him, filling his blood with renewed tenacity and strength. Forcing himself to his feet, Thor squared his shoulders and held his blade ready to attack. The mutant cocked its head in surprise. The human was its toughest prey since as far back as the mutant could remember.

Filing this little fact away at the back of it's brain, the mutant decided it was time to finish the fight and it charged again. Thor parried the mutant's axe with his K- Bar, slashing two long fingers from its huge hand. Ducking the other fist he then stabbed forward with the K -Bar, but the horrified Mutant swayed away from the thrust and kicked out at the crouching human. Thor tried to launch himself into the air somersaulting out of range, but the mutant was too fast. The kick propelled him across the clearing, and the landing jarred his wounded side and the human staggered. Losing his balance and dropping to his knees. So close, he thought. No one has ever managed to butcher two armored mutants, not up close. He prepared himself for one last desperate assault. He was going to cripple the monster no matter what. Thor vowed that the mutant would remember this battle until the day it died. Rising to his feet, he twirled the K - Bar in his right hand, and swung his arm testing his shoulder. The mutant was opening and closing its mutilated right hand, staring at the severed joints. The two warriors turned to stare at each other, and as both tensed for the final act the day became impossibly loud and bright. A grenade had gone off between the pair and showered them in shrapnel, both fighters reeled back in pain.

The mutant screamed in frustration, and scurried away into the trees. Thor dropped his weapon, and covered his side moaning in agony. He fell to the ground and rolled in the dirt, praying for the pain to end. He opened his eyes, but he could only see the faint outlines of trees and his dropped blade lying in the dirt. He realized that he must be getting ready to pass out from shock and blood loss, as he crawled unsteadily towards his weapon. Snatching it up he used a tree to help him stand, and he leaned against the trunk trying to calm down and catch his breath.

"Fucking grenade had saved my ass", he thought. His eyes were beginning to fade as he could barely see, everything was too dark. Before he passed out he managed to get 2 stimpaks into himself to help with the bleeding, but did not know if it had stopped it. Off to his right, irregular flashes of flame and the sounds of angry shouts. Crap, someone else is out here. Thor thought just before he passed out.

Chua was getting tired, It was getting dark!
As he walked over the battlefield he saw a dead raider in the dusk, he walked over to the body. He was not yet looted! Chua found two frag grenades, two stimpaks and a 9mm mauser with three clips.

Chua went over to what was left of the market in the Hub. He found a weapons dealer. There was a guy standing in front of the dealer. He handed in a sniper rifle for lots of 9 mm shots for his UZI hanging in his belt. Chua couldn't believe it. "A SNIPER RIFLE" he thought. With that Chua could have taken out a whole city in a distance!

He watched the guy walk away from the "shop". He went towards the dealer, and said: " I'm looking for some ammo for my 9 mm mauser!"
The dealer replied: " Sorry, I sold all my 9 mm's to that guy!" He pointed at the guy who stood there before Chua came, who now was walking through the ruins!

Chua walked away from the shop, following the guy who had bought all the 9 mm's. He walked towards a fireplace in the ruins where some other volunteers sat. Chua sat down at one of the rocks from the buildings, and started to lay out his inventory. He didn't have too much ammo for the hunting rifle so he went back to the shop and bought some ammo for it.

rob checked his assault rifle, he realised he need more ammo.

rob walked over to what was left of the GUNS shop,he found some frag grenades and ammo.

ICC-

Jack woke up suddenly, noticing something odd.
As he opened his eyes, he realized it was the fire burning down, something he had not experienced before.
Slowly raising himself from his sitting position, careful not to jar Tenel Ka, Jack went to explore.
Hearing a slight rustling noise, he noticed that she had awoken anyway.
Whispering, he let her know his plans.
"I'm gona go try to salvage whats left of that .50 cal and find ammo for it. Wana join me ?"
"Such a high caliber weapon would indeed be effective aginst mutants. I will assist you."
Several hours later the pair had managed to salvage the M2 machine gun, as well as it's tripod.
Trading in multiple 9MM pistols they had found lying on the ground when people had dropped them to carry more effective items, they managed to get six ammo box's containing 500 .50 rounds that the gunshop owner, Beth, had been trying to unload for years.
"Jack, how will you carry all of this" Tenel Ka asked looking over the big gun, tripod, and assorted ammo box's they were carrying.
"Oh, crap." Jack smacked his head in frustration.
'Once again, I fail to think things thru.'
"Well, um, is there any chance of me talking you into carrying five of the ammo box's and the tripod ?
"It would make us effective as a machine gun crew. Yes, I will assist."
As she adjusted her pack so it could contain the ammunition, she watched as Jack attempted to carry his bandolier of .50 caliber ammunition, when he already had two bandoliers of grenades.
Thinking quickly, Jack neatly folded one of the bandoliers into the ammo box that had contained the belt of .50 rounds he now wore over one shoulder.
Taking a bit of rope, Jack went and made a crude yet effective strap for the .50 cal machine gun, and slung it over his shoulder so he could cary it in a ready position.
"Hey, not like I moved quick to start with." Jack quipped at Tenel Ka
"Now lets go see if Kahgan is awake yet."
Jack put on his backpack, and they went back to camp.

Chua came back from the weapons dealer.
It was dark. He went over to the rock where he sat before. He sat down and thought to himself: " I will have to make a fire."
He went over the battlefield searching for sticks to burn. He found lots of destroyed rifle buts.

When he came back to the rock he noticeed that he didn't have a lighter. He looked over at the fire where the guy from the shop had now fallen asleep. Chua went over to the fireplace and asked some of the other recruits for a burning stick so he could make a fire over at his place. The recruits gave him a burning stick, and as he walked over to his place watched the guy from the shop sleep. He saw all the 9 mm ammo he had bought. If there had not been so many people around, Chua would probably have taken some of his ammo. But Chua just walked over to his place.

When Chua had lighted up a fire and sat down to eat a little food he had bought over at the market, several other recruits joined him around the fire to keep warm. When Chua was finished eating he went to sleep, with his combat knife close to his chest.
