Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hi, I'm not really new here, I've registered before and I got slammed so I just continued lurking for a couple of years. You guys can be pretty initmidating :D

I've been checking this site for over 2.5 years now because i've been compelled by the fallout universe since the first day I read about it in a games magazine when I was 11 years old in 1997. Fallout 2 was the first game I played on the PC, so I've got fond memories of that game.

About me, I'm a 20 year old Belgian law student, so maybe in can help you out a bit with legal problems  . by the way, there's quite a lot of Belgians here, any specific reason for that?

/end introduction

Welcome all. I lurked on the forums for a few years myself before finally getting to registering.

There don't seem to be that many Belgians here. Is a handful on a forum unusual? ABBA seems to have achieved an impressive amount of #1 hits in Belgium. Any specific reason for that?

Our penises are huge, yes. Especially Lauren's. Sken on the other hand, is a eunuch.

I don't think that's going to make you too popular around these parts. Just a hunch.

Well, a handful of active Belgians in a relatively small active international community seems a bit disproportionate. On top of that, I didn't know fallout was popular in Belgium anyway.

Luckily I'm not here to become popular then. Also, by slammed I don't mean banned. My conduct wasn't inappropriate, but I should've known better then to engage in a debate of which I knew very little back then. By lurking from time to time over a couple of years, I think that I've gained sufficient experience to not look like a COMPLETE ass all the time

hmz, getting hooked on FO at 11 year old... most kids wouldn't bother with the 'slow and tedious' turnbased gameplay and such. and the english used isn't easy either. kudos!

i dunno... maybe we just make more noise than the others. especially the talented (and extremely perverted) wishy-washy alec seems to count for an entire legion.

well the hits are because the hit charts are tampered with. if the execs dont like it they give the statistics people the order to shuffle the numbers a bit. which is why groups like Tool score way lower than they actually should. (someone in my family happens to be one of the statistics people)

although, i'm sure that happens in every country though...

it wasn't especially popular, i think.

Hallo, I am Templar895 from the Enclave.

EVERYONES HANDS UP! THIS IS A FEDERAL RAID! ALL RESISTANCE WILL BE MET WITH FORCE!

aahahhaha, I just messin. Im Jeff, 16, sup dudes.

Hello everyone!

I'm a student from Sweden who just recently picked up Fallout 1 and 2 again, and I've realized (again) how amazingly great these games are.
After checking around forums, I then found out that Fallout 3 is being made, which got me really excited. But then I read that Bethesda is making it, and now I am... uh... a bit more pessimistic about the whole deal. :P

I enjoy playing the guitar. I've been playing for 8 years or so, and I've been mostly playing metal, which I suppose is my favorite 'type' of music. Mostly technical death metal for me.
Recently I bought an acoustic steelstringed guitar though, as I've been listening to a guitarist called Tommy Emmanuel, and he has opened up an entire universe of acoustic music for me.

I used to be a big Starwars fanatic which is the reason for my username. I'm not as fanatical about it these days, it's just that I want to keep the same name for different forums I sign up for.

So yeah, nice to be onboard!

Gday y'all!

Hope to see you posting some decent posts, that don't get vatted within the hour

Carry on!

Yeah, really! SOBER? You gotta take all the fun out of life, don't you/ If I could only post when I was sober, I'd never post a damn thing! My time on my pc is limited by a 3-year old son and a full-time student girlfriend. I get the damn thing like, from 2 am until they wake up. coincidentally, this is also when I do my beer drinking...

Oh, and even though it's kinda late, since I've put up like 20 posts or so, Hi, my name is Corey, and I'm an alco- oops, wrong meeting! Seriously, my name is Corey, I'm 26, and I live in northeast Ohio, U.S.A. I'm a restaurant manager, I've got a 3 year old son that thinks he's fifteen, and a twenty-seven year old girlfriend who thinks SHE'S fifteen. If anybody's interested, my screen name is in honor of a good friend I lost a few years ago to a drunk driver.

I joined up here at NMA because a friend of mine and I were making a mod for Fallout 2, and he bailed on me due to excessive pressure from school. I needed some advice, and this seemed to be the place to get it.

Hello, everyone. I am Vedran, from Croatia, a student of computing, not a mutant (really). I have been a fan of these games ever since I played FO2. I haven't seen or played FO1 until a couple of years after that, and I got somewhat disappointed. :( (I made the same mistake with the Thief series, playing number two before number one. That is not a way to go.) I am also one of those who actually finished Fallout tactics... twice... :P I know that's a mediocre game, is not really considered canon, and everyone despises it, but I liked it. 8)

Zdravo Wex 8)

Kako si?

(i hope this was correct :wiggle: sorry moje srbsko/hrvatsko nije dobro, ja zivim u nema`cku)

Have a nice rest here. You definatley need to play Fallout 1, the Story is fantastic.

Depresivno. The college is crushing down on me. And all this stuff about Bethesda and FO3 ain't making my life any better. Nvm, though.

You didn't insult my mother, religion or cat, if that's what you have been afraid of... :P You managed to convey your meaning. ;) And my german is hardly good either.

I didn't mean to imply that I didn't play or like FO1, for I finished it a couple of times and created a dozen of characters. It's just that I missed some things that the sequel had (enclave power armor :P ; car, to an extent; micromanagement of NPC behaviour, stuff like that), and some areas seemed devoid of content, as if they were left unfinished (parts of LA, for instance, with scores of people and only several that talk). And I hate time limits. But these issues are not really that significant to drive me away from the game.

Bis bald.
