Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Well sinceI screwed up the first time, i'll post it in the correct place :X

Well hello, i'm Exigent aka John. I just recently found these forums for fallout, and was interested in them and dug around a bit and registered. I think one reason I was drawn to this game is because I played a demo of it when I was 7, that was 10 years ago, and then just recently getting 1 and 2 since it left a great impact on me when I was little. It's nice to see a community so dedicated to a game thats got years under it's buckle.

Actually, I got it off a guy I know on another forum for a differnt game, if the person wants me to take off I will.

changed it anyhow.

Well, I guess we're just warning you because Hotel California made those animations and if you want to use them, the polite thing to do would be to ask Hotel California first.

Hotel California said:
i'm glad you all like my animations BUT could you please NOT USE/STEAL them for your own signatures! It took an awful lot of work on that first one and am planning to use it myself!

In any case: welcome. Try not to post in the wrong forum/thread too often, 'cause we hate that.

Well, might as well post, I've been lurking for a long time now, most of my questions have been answered already. So... hello for the sake of making a crappy first post

I used to be a fallout addicted too but now I'm clean. It's been 9 months since I stopped playing Fallout 2.

It's difficult but there is hope. You must live one day at a time.

There is no medical cure for this addiction. At the same time all available medical testimony indicates that Falloutism is a progressive illness, that it cannot be cured in the ordinary sense of the term, but that it can be arrested through total abstinence from Fallout 1 or Fallout 2.

1. A fallouter must admit to being powerless in the face of Francis.... err.... Frank. He needs help from the Enclave soldiers or from the turrets.

2. A fallouter should come to believe that a Power greater than himself could restore he to sanity. Bethesda !!!!

3. A fallouter should make a decision to turn his will and his life over to the care of the Overseer as we understood him.

4. A fallouter should made a searching and fearless moral inventory of himself. Including what is inside your CLASSIC, GENUINE Chrysalis Motors Highwayman's trunk.

5. A fallouter should admit to the overseer, to himself and to other forum mates the exact nature of his wrongs. Even if he reloaded.

6. A fallouter must be entirely ready to have the hubologists remove all these defects of character.

7. A fallouter should make a list of all persons he had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all, including the Master.

8. A fallouter should made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Forget about the Master. Helping him is a bad idea.

9. A fallouter must keep his personal inventory updated and when he is wrong he should promptly admit it.

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, The Fallouter should try to carry this message to every fallouter and to practice these principles in all his affairs until Fallout 3.

it's rather funny that everyone claims they've lurked on the forums for "so long" & eventually decided to register "without any real reason".

what's wrong with saying: "hi, i'm the new guy. i like fallout & i knew the site from way back, but never bothered reading the forums. anyway, all the FO3 crap made me nostalgic so i thought i'd drop in on the forum as well & see what's going on there." ?

EDITED, and my join date wasn't the day I decided to post

Sup. I like Fallout 2 a lot. If it were legal, I'd probably marry the game. I've played it over 10 times (and finished almost every game I started) over the past 7 years. It basically got me into PC RPG's (and pc games in general) because it came out before I actually played games on the computer. I was a big nintendo fan, and still am.

So yeah, I love Fallout 2. 'Nuff said. Oh yeah, I'm quite afraid of what Bestheda will do to the fallout series. Mainly the possibility that they might turn it into a real-time action FPS RPG, and avoid using the SPECIAL system we've grown to love so dearly.

I mainly came here to get some help with an issue im having with the game. But i'll probably stick around the forums for a while, I seem to do that every time i join a new forum.

Hi.

I'm Thulee, i have been playing Fallout for years and lurking here for a long time also. Fallout is my faviourate game ever, the atmoshphere and mood are second to none, the story is great and the game play is addictive. Fallout 2 is also amazing but was a bit carelessly made and as such the mood does not come close to that of Fallout. Fallout Tactics is ok although it has no traces of the Fallout mood really, which
is what for me makes the game great. I have not dared play F:BOS yet, and judging by the view of it here, i won't.

So hi!

hi there & welcome to our humble abode.

note to self: make a list of all facts people that claim to have lurked at NMA for a long time should know and then prep the interogation room. (don't forget the spotlight, scalpel, soldering iron, whip, thumb screws, cattle prod, wind-up generator of a field radio, syringes of R015-4513, comfortable easy chair,...)

Except that double-registering is forbidden.

Goodbye Nuerof.
