Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hello,
I am Shad, I have been a huge fan of Fo1, Fo2 and Ja2 in single player and a very big fan of Fot multiplayer (this game has an useless single player in my opinion).
I studied art and graphic design because I always wanted to make video games. So I started coding too in order to make some small ones, after my studies I decided to create the ultimate game i would enjoy playing, 2D isoview tactical rpg with original real time game mechanics and a post apocalyptic universe : Trought a ludicrous and bloody survival odyssey, a young nobody raises into the last hope of a crazy post apocalyptic humanity.
I am working on it for over 3 years and decided to name it Almost Alive. It is currently under developement in Unity and after drawing a lot of spritesheets, I decided to start coding on C sharp before a year and a half. Working all alone on it I reached a point of developement where I need to decide what will I do to reduce my game into a smaller game in the first place before making a full scale rpg like I want it. I would also like to get people opinion on my draws and work, and maybe even a bit later ask for some help about sound, dialogues, characters mental design ;) ...
So this is my question : where whould I start a topic about my game? (I am not very used to forums)

I'm CzigBot and my hobbies are writing stupid witty one-liners when I do introductions but I can't think of one at the moment.

I think it's pretty Guts-y to introduce yourself with a premise and failing to deliver on it.
Hi, I'm Hassknecht, and sometimes I like to do puns. Welcome to NMA-Mine, the biggest site for mining glittering gems of hatred.

Guten Tag. AgentBJ09. Been hearing about this site for a few weeks thanks to comments on other sites when talking about Fallout 4, and what we may see added, and lost, to it.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl was my intro to post-apocalyptic gaming, then the original Fallouts and what I could survive in Wasteland. Great times.

Hello people of NMA! My name is gav07Gaming and I run a YouTube channel of the same name. I'm fairly young. New Vegas was the first Fallout game I have ever played and i played it on my PS3 once and couldn't put it down. I now have it on PC and mod it extensively. I got Fallout 3 about 6 months ago on the PC and played it for the first time. Quite frankly, I hated it. I started another playthrough about a month ago and I like it a little more, but I don't think it is great or that good to be honest. I picked up the Fallout classic collection on steam in the 2014 summer sale. Since my first gaming generation was the 7th gen there has been a major lack or CRPGs so obviously Fallout 1/2/Tactics was a major change for me, and is still quite an adjustment. But being a Fallout fan I read into the story and lore of the games and love it. It's especially interesting seeing all the references NV threw in (Seth being on one of the bills for example). I started a Fallout 1 playthrough on my YT channel. I have played a little bit of Tactics but none of 2 unfortunately. The most I have done with 2 is read the Vault Dweller's memoirs. It excites me that i am able to join a forum dedicated to my favorite game series, especially since the series and this specific community have so much history. Sorry for the long intro

Hello fellow wastelanders! My name is Paladin12. I'm a huge fan of Fallout, TES, Halo, the Alien/Predator universe, and Sports! I also love the BOS and Deathclaws.

Hello everyone! I made this profile a few weeks back, and this is my first post thus far. Although I've yet to play the older Fallout games, I am a fan of the Fallout series, and I hope my relative inexperience with the series will not arouse the ire (at least not too much) of some of the more established members of this forum.

I'm a young old man. I'm quite a big fan of Fallout. Especially loved Fallout 2 and New Vegas. Big thanks for Killap for making the restoration patch available and others who contributed to it. It makes fallout 2 an entirely different game. I also love the Stalker series. COP was a lot more stable than the first two.

Hey! I absolutely hate this username, but I use it everywhere so I kind of have to use it here.

I've been lurking around this forum for a long time now. Love Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout: Tactics, New Vegas and Van Buren and hate the Bethesda games with a passion. Think I'll fit in well.

See you around the forum! :D

Hello, I'm done lurking, let's start putting those thoughts down on metaphorical paper.

So yeah, if you want you can try to guess my name and nation of origin from my username and photo.

"Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste......"

Pleased to meet you all.

I guess you'd have to call me a back door Fallout fan. Don't ask me why, but the whole futuristic setting put me off at first and I'm a late comer to the series. Fallout 3 was my first introduction to Fallout.

I come from the traditional AD&D Greyhawk/ Forgotten Realms Fantasy setting crowd. Back in the day I played 1st edition, then our DM switched us to Iron Crown's 'Rolemaster'. Remember percentage die and a 66 was like an ultra critical? I also loved Avalon Hill's 'Squad Leader' which wasn't an RPG but a turn based WWII tactical combat game that was a lot of fun.

When computers really started being worth getting into (Intel's Pentium / Windows 95) I played the EOB series, Menzobarranzan and the Dark Sun games. The DSun games were ground breaking!

Later, I played the shit out of the Baldur's Gate series, and I really LOVED Planescape: Torment. I was a regular haunt on the BIS boards. I was around when 'hoarde'(s) of angry Blizzard fans swamped the boards in protest of a comment that Icewind Dale artist (was his name Manly, or Manning?) made about Diablo 2's artwork. I've even exchanged a little banter with J.E. Sawyer on the board during the beginning of the end when Icewind Dale 2 was in development. I loved Black Isle Studios. I loved their openness and close developer/ fan relationship. They made us feel like part of the development process. They listened to us and worked with our suggestions. If only some of the current Developers/ Publishers were more like they were.

I've played through Neverwinter Nights and its' expansions and was a regular for a while on Bioware's board. NWN was okay. I wasn't crazy about the OC but it got a hell of a lot better after SoU and HotUD were released. I played Neverwinter Nights 2 and thought the story really rocked, even though I wasn't completely enamored with the 3.5 e. rule set. I won't touch 4th Edition with a ten foot pole.

I still play Troika's 'the Temple of Elemental Evil' from time to time. The fan content is great and has added a lot of legs to it.

I'm not a foaming-at-the mouth Bethesda fan, but I liked Arena and loved Daggerfall. At the time DF was nothing short of revolutionary. I loved its' open ended non- linearity. Morrowind was also terrific, even though it took a couple steps back in some aspects. Then came Oblivion and sadly, the 'dumbing down' of the series. I remember how we railed to no avail against the elimination of many skills, the introduction of "minigames" and player skill based combat. We wanted an RPG, not another Hexen style FPS, for shit's sake. Well it came out the way it did and while I thought it was a fun game, it was too simplistic and had far less replay value than its' predecessors. The speech craft system was just plain stupid and represented an abysmal new low for the series. Skyrim's cool but I've yet to finish it and the CTD bugs are pissing me off so I've not looked at it for a while. I won't play Elder Scrolls Online, but may give Tamriel Unlimited a look-see. I think I may just beg Santa Claus for Fallout 4 instead. :P

Like I've mentioned, Fallout 3 was my first Fallout game. After the years of resistance for I don't know what, I gave it a try and I fell in love with the setting! Yes, there are many things wrong with FO3 and some things are just plain dumb, but I've still invested a lot of hours in it, it's expansions, and fan created mods and had a great time. I think New Vegas was better. It had a lot more detail and more comprehensive combat and role playing options.

I recently bought the Fallout; Fallout 2 and Fallout: Tactics bundle and have started playing Fallout. I'm enjoying it, even though the archaic interface takes some getting used to. Let's face it, once you've been spoiled with first person perspective and modern interfaces for so many years, going back to a game from the 90's feels a bit clumsy. At least I don't have to run it in DOS Box. *rolleyes*

I hope my introduction wasn't too verbose, and apologize to you if you feel it was. I also hope the moderators won't find this post too far off topic as it wasn't my intention. I just wanted to let you know where I come from gaming wise. It's my desire to be a member in good standing and although I won't go out of my way to do it, I'm sure I'll piss someone off along the way. Such is the nature of discourse on a message board, especially one where members' passions run deep. Cheers! :)
