Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hello, freshly registered but lurking here since 2004. My first Fallout was 2, then 1. And those games I definitely love.
As for the rest, well I have a Stockholm Syndrome going on with BGS although I have no positive feelings for the studio. Just can't force myself to not give each of their Fallout game a chance.

Hello, I'm Disembob. My first Fallout game was 3, and I enjoyed it very much. Then I got New Vegas and enjoyed it more than that, which my best friend says I'm wrong for. While I do enjoy Fallout 4, I don't like it as much as New Vegas. I've been to this website a few times before, but I've only now decided to make an account.

Hello, i will kiss you.

Hello everyone, I'm Supermarauder. I've recently got into fallout at least about 2 years ago now. My first fallout game was Fallout 3. I was introduced to the series when I was at a friends house and he showed me his character build. I thought it was really cool so he let me create a new character and try the game for a bit. A couple weeks later around Christmas, one of my other friends gifted me Fallout 3 (without the DLC). I very much enjoyed Fallout 3. Later I bought New Vegas Ultimate, Fallout 3 GOTY, and the whole TES collection. After finishing Fallout 3, I played New Vegas and enjoyed it even more overall. New Vegas to me was a superior game in every aspect. I unfortunately, have not had the chance to play the first two games but I'm planning on saving some money to buy the games on Steam. A couple months ago I played Fallout 4...... Let's just say I didn't like it.................. as a Fallout game..... Yeah sure it has a Fallout skin on it but it doesn't play like a Fallout game. I may have not played the original 2 games, but i know that Fallout 4 is not a proper fallout game. It's "RPG" elements are gimicky, and heck this may sound really strange but I hated how they improved the gun play. The skills system was a great addition to the series that was stripped away in 4. It helped make it so that both your character's in game skill and your actual skill to aim take a factor in where you'll hit your target or not. Don't get me started on the story (its a generic family plot 101 with giant plot holes). The dialogue system is absolute SHITE, trying to emulate Mass effect's whole illusion of choice. Power armor is a pain in the ass to use. It feels like a chore to get the suit to keep running when in Fallout 3 or NV it felt rewarding to be able to put the suit on. Not anymore. That being said, if you like Generic Shooter with incredibly light and unrealistic RPG elements (i.e aquaboy) with a Fallout skin on it, have fun. To me Fallout 4 is a rushed piece of crap. That being said, I'm glad to be entering this community and gaining wisdom from some of the older members here.

PS: DANG THIS THREAD IS OLD. OVER 10 YEARS. DAYUM. :P

Hey folks. Been registered here since around 2015, been a creepy lurker quite a bit longer than that. Want to say I love the community some of you are hilarious.

Been a fallout fan since the early 2000s or so...was primarily a console gamer who actually hunted down and played RPGs. Still do actually. Divinity, Wasteland 2 and a few others I prefer on my xbone.

Got my hands on FO when I picked up a PC back in the early turn of the century. Though I did know about the series long before that.

I used to be on the bethesda boards under the same name busting chops and hating the direction of the franchise and marveling at the stupidity of their fans.... other than FNV...which is personally my favorite of the series.

Anyways cheers

'Sup.

I'm a relatively new fan of the series (Started back in '10) but I hold it as one of my all time favorites. Started out with Fallout 3 and Fallout 1 shortly thereafter. Nowadays I play pretty much all of them on any given day. I actually do like Bethesda's titles, but at the same time I can agree that there are some very valid complaints to be had with 3 and 4 which have been pointed out here. I readily accept the fact that I am in the minority, and that's fine. I'm in the process of working on my own little slice of the Fallout world with the help of some friends, and I plan on bringing it to life through either the GECK or as a Fallout 2 mod.

All that being said, I hope to get involved in the discussions here.

Hi I joined this site a few weeks ago. I lurked on it for months though. My favorite fallout game is either fo2 or nv, and i like to spend most of my nights looking at sexy FISTO art.

Hello, I am CerberusGate (been using this name too often but I am too lazy to think up a new one).

I confess that my first Fallout game was Fallout 3 which was okay when I started out. Nowadays, I have nothing but disdain for such an average game.

I then found New Vegas and loved every bit of it more than Fallout 3. Then the New Vegas DLCs came out and made New Vegas into one of my best gaming experiences of all time. The amount of role-playing in New Vegas was staggering with decisions that affected the final outcome of each story, the quality of the writing for characters and the amount of freedom in interacting with the world. I then decided to try out the previous Fallout games to see the fuss of those old classics. Fallout 1 was amazing in terms of atmosphere (but not a fan of the time limit) while Fallout 2 became my favourite in the the franchise with the amount of freedom in shaping your character (like becoming an in-game Rocky Balboa known for being the star of many pornos). After that, the promotional materials of Fallout 4 appeared and it begun to lift the veil Morrowind left on me about Bethesda games and I could see the soulless corporation it had become since Oblivion.

I came here for refuge after a long time of witnessing the cancerous mass that are the Bethesdrones defending Failout 4 and trying to bash New Vegas (and the classic Fallout games by proxy).

I may not use this account as much but I do hope to be able to get into discussions with the community here.

Hi, I'm a pretty new Fallout fan. My first fallout game was New Vegas and that was last year. I loved it, though I was always bugged by the NCR helmet design. I then bought Fallout 3 a few months later, and the best time I had with it was laughing at how I could tell a Military A.I "you're wrong, kys", thinking it was a joke. As most of you know, it wasn't.

I didn't buy Fallout 4, and intend to play/buy the first two Fallouts instead. And please don't hate me for not playing the originals first. I was suffering from a condition known commonly as being a one celled organism at the time.

Welcome!:-)
This is where the dreams and wishes of classic fallout fans come to die.

Hi, I'm new here. I'm a longtime Fallout fan and FNV modder.

I hadn't heard of this place until a real-life friend of mine told me that I'd be right at home here... I think he meant it as an insult... he said that this is where people go after they've sold their innocence to the devil for a pair of nostalgia goggles and lifetime 2 for 1 value card at the wholesale salt warehouse.

I hope he wasn't wrong. Because I've come to far to turn back now... and the devil don't give refunds.

Yeah he was basically wrong. I Don't think I have nostalgia goggles (I mean I just played fo1 & 2 for the first time two years ago). I just know a superior product when I see one.

Don't worry. I'm with you on that, mate.

The jokes on him though. Thanks to these low, low prices on salt, I'm saving a tonne of cash. I've never had more disposable income to not spend on Bethesda DLC.

Well. This is scary. I've been fighting people on YouTube, whom I assume are on here somewhere, for years. Seriously, I thought they were the human equivalents of retarded monkey babies. They just go on and on about how one of my favorite games was trash and babble about the nineties. However, yesterday I finally finished Fallout and, uh... well... whoops. You guys and your insane crusade won't stop, which used to annoy me, but now I'm sort of glad you're here.

Hello there folks.

I came into the series with New Vegas, having been an avid player of Morrowind. And, I've been getting more into RPGs since then. Additionally, roleplaying outside the video game medium has been my thing since I was a child.

Basically, I am addicted to roleplaying, and I also have a huge pathological hatred for Fallout 4. In fact, I found this site while searching for things that discuss the aspects of Fallout 4 that pissed me off since it was announced back in that E3 presentation. (Yes, I didn't even get the game, I knew it was going to disappoint me from the moment it was announced. Too bad that I liked the gunplay.)

Welcome to NMA. You'll fit right in with your hatred of Fallout 4 and your time with New Vegas. Most of us here hate Fallout 4 as well.
Enjoy your stay here.
