Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

I remember coming here in 2010 and everyone was shitting on Fallout 3 which I liked at the time and someone was talking about working in a nuclear plant and I thought it was the biggest bunch of bullshit I had read.
That was my first NMA experience.

Brother None used to talk shit back than and before Fallout 4 came out Walpknut had a avatar of himself holding up a W flag.

Toronto had that laughing skeleton pfp from that music video and everyone had "oTO" in their username. I thought it was for Thelemites. :lmao:

I was like, "wtf!?".

Don't know how else I can prove it though.

I lurked for quite a while but just in the FO1/2 modding section. Maybe 1999. Then fallout 3 came out and I joined the Bethesda forums. Was promptly banned after about two days of trolling their forums with the username FPSkilledtheRPGstar.
Later I finally decided to make an account here. Pretty sure I joined sometime in '08 but the website has been through a few upgrades and I've gotten a few temp bans so that's why it says I joined in 2010. *giggle*

One of the mods pmd me demanding I change my username so I told them to take my username and shove it right up their clacker.

Hi all! I'm new here, glad to join you. I playing Fallout more then one year and i love it more, then when i just started! :)

I'm new..obviously. played the fps games and had fun, mostly New Vegas. I have been increasingly interested in diving deeper into lore and playing Fallout 1 and 2.

You should play them in my opinion.

I want to. I am going to sign up for steam. I figure I can play them on my laptop. There's another game on there from when I was a kid I want to check out so I figured now is as good a time as any to get going!

Steam's good. GOG is also a great storefront especially for older titles and you only have to log in to download games. You can play them with no login required. I use Steam for anything I can't get on GOG though.

I would suggest watching the beginnings of a few Let's Plays... only to get the hang of the game; do read the manual for Fallout (1). It is formated as a booklet for new vault residents, including censorship, and other edits; it explains the combat mechanics as well.

Yeah I'll definitely have to do that. A few years ago my dad got Fallout on Steam and he was trying to ask me how to play it. I took a look and pretty immediately was killed by a mole rat and was like "shit, idk, that sucks you're already dead". So I think it'll be a bit of a learning curve..but one definitely worth undertaking!

You joined because they crammed your name up their snatches?
No you fuckwit I pm'd the bitch something like that and she banned me.
Ahh, those were the days.
My best troll there was me claiming I lost one arm in an accident and could only play classic mouse based CRPGs not FPS. Thread lit on fire, mods took notice, banned the next day.
Mind I do now realize there are thousands of people with only one hand that can play FPS.

Anyway, good to have you here @weetwoo

Hello, I have been fascinated by the Fallout Series after playing 3 and New Vegas for the past ten years. Despite starting with 3, I literally ditched it when I played NV for the first time. My experiences with NV were far more memorable because of the engaging storytelling and philosophical debates over opposing ideologies within the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic setting. It was what convinced me to consider playing the first and second titles in the Series.

3, for all of its fan service and emphasis on exploring, gunning and looting wore off very quickly for being too repetitive and boring after a while. Many of the problems that I had with it were literally repeated almost verbatim in 4 and 76. I am glad that I steered away from the hype over those two, preferring to spend my time and money on the more valuable titles.

It is nice to meet everyone.
