Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hello dear Fallout fans,

'Please forgive all my futrure mistakes'

Fallout 1 was the first game I ever played and I still love the series.

I've mananeged to install Fallout 1 in DOSbox turbo on android and are now looking into Fallout 2 in exagear.
The only problem is that android 11 has some new read/write policies preventing me to save the game.

I have spend considerable time tweaking, reading and programming to get to my current state, making me wonder: 'Why is there still no easy accesible way to play the first installments on android?'

Am I missing something here? Thinking about launching a crowdfund to make this happen for android 11 to enable future generations playing the game on mobile devices.

Also, I have used NMA many times but never dared to join because of my distance to a reactor :P

Many thanks to all lving supporters of this community :)

Hello all!

Been a Fallout fan for a long time. Got in to the series with Tactics when it came out, then picked up 1 and 2 in one of the old double game jewel cases a short time later. Spent years waiting on 3, got it and was sorely disappointed. Can't really stomach 4. New Vegas was decent enough I suppose.

Anyway, I've long since resigned myself to being disappointed in anything new that decides to wear the corpse of Fallout around and collect cash.

SUP my name is Olathe Loser, I'm trying to get into Fallout 1 and 2 but am sometimes stumped on what to do. Also 1 gives me pressure to complete the game like I'm speedrunning it.

It's normal to feel a bit lost when playing Fallout 1 for the first time. I'd suggest checking out a guide online if you're really stuck (that's what I did anyway) but try not to rely on it too much. The game really isn't that complicated once you get the hang of it.

As for the timer, it scared the crap out of me too, but that's the point. You're supposed to feel like it's a threat, like the entire fate of the Wasteland depends on you. It's an integral part of the Fallout 1 experience.

The timer only really matters if you use rest to heal a lot.

Hello everyone, my name is Giulio and I come from Italy. I am a recent Fallout 1 and 2 fan and I am pleased to join your community.

Welcome to the Wasteland. Stick around.

Travelling and reading books also speeds up the timer a lot. I remember the first time I beat Fallout 1 I had spent so much time backtracking that by the end the supermutants had pretty much destroyed every single town. The game really encourages you to think about how you spend your time within the game's world. I kind of wish Fallout 2 had a timer because I think it would make the Enclave an even scarier threat.

Welcome to nma! Hope you enjoy your stay (however short it may be)

Hey there, I'm Michael. I found this forum via Google for a completely different reason outside of Fallout (DM me if you want to know the reason why, I'd rather not derail this thread), but I can assure you I will stay for the Fallout, baby. I'm from the West Coast of the United States. I like video games, watching TV shows and movies, riding my bike, card and bored games, I dig some numismatics, and more.

I've been a fan of the Fallout series since Fallout 3, played through Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. For some reason I have yet to finish New Vegas as well as the OG Fallout games but I'm sure the motivation will come to me. My favorite Fallout games are Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. My least favorite Fallout games are Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to chat or whatever!

Catch you later. Tunnel Snakes rule!

Hey all,

I'm King, I come from Canada, and I do drugs, make money, and play video games.

I started playing 1 and 2 about 5 years ago now and fell in love. The new games, with the exception of one Vegas experience, left a sour taste in my mouth for its poor writing, and majorly dumbed down mechanics with each installment. Can't even imagine what a lot of you OG's thought of 3 when it came out. But after playing NV and getting even just a small taste of the writing abilities of the previous developers, it got me hooked.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you a bit more.

Hey Ricky, I'm just like you, I live in The Den, I do Jet, I "try" to make money, and I play video games.

I recently started to play Fallout 2 on October 22nd, 2021. Perhaps I should give thanks to finally trying the game out lol. Been wanting to play it for years but never gave it a chance. I have yet to play Fallout 1, but I am currently playing the second one.

My first Fallout game was Fallout 3, and just like many of those who played I too was a Bethesda Fanboy and tried to defend it saying things like "Fallout New Vegas has no story", "FNV doesn't make sense" or "F3 is better because of A and B". But when I did give it a chance I was enlightened and saw that it was clearly a superior game over Bethesturd's earlier installment. Time passes, I fell for the hype of Fallout 4 and pre-ordered it. When I finally put my fingers on the keyboard-mouse playing it. I finally realized how mediocre and boring it was, the game itself is just an upgraded version of Fallout 3, that's it. I was really disappointed that I pre-ordered a boring lackluster game and played more FNV instead, only to further push my love for FNV more.

Years go by and I remembered the Classic Fallouts existed. I even own an original disc copy of Fallout 2, which was always a reminder. So one day in Oct. 2021 Fallout had a huge sale on steam with a bundle containing F1, F2, and Fallout: Tactics. I bought the bundle and decided to try out F2 since I owned a disc for it and thought it would be fitting. Ever since I played it on that Thanksgiving day I've been addicted to it. It's so FREAKING good, almost as good as Jet, but not quite. Jet is amazing ti will make you fly, anyways It's the best Fallout game I've ever played. I'm so glad to make that decision and I will say for a fact that it's better than Fallout New Vegas and better than any game Bethesturd can release under its IP.

P.S. Even though I joined this forum on Jan 26th, 2022. I guess it is fitting for me to introduce myself now as well :P
