IPLY homeless...

It's dead. As for the fallout license and VB ....... undead.

Rwaaaawwrrrrr, the walking dead of inertplay haunt the abandoned halls of the once glorious development studio, waiting for the noble and proud to raise Fallout back out of the ashes, much as the proverbial phoenix; giving life to what once was dead, reviving the legacy of which had been defiled, bringing another masterpiece to the famed and exalted franchise.

Or, until some money-rubbing mass-marketing greedy-POS wannabe game developers get their unclean maw on the lifeless corpse of a once beautiful creature. And maul the carcass into oblivion for the sake of SELLING OUT EVERYTHING HOLY AND DEFINITIVE to the series.

Wait, that's already been done. Crap.

Daemon Spawn, longing for times past; dreading futures yet to come....

the only sane solution would be to sell the license to Troika for $1 8)

(troika said they were interested but didnt have the cash. :? bet they could make a pretty darn good sequel  )

when will be any GOOD news about F3 and interplay? damn why interplay whyyy i want fallout ]|[ :(:(:(

Where have you been? :) Its the damn Frenchies!
Actually, I believe going console only was still Brian Fargo's (dumb) idea. Anyway, Interplay was already going downhill, that's why they had Titus step in to fix it (haha).

Dammit! First the symbol changes to IPLY.OB.....NOW its IPLYE.OB. Let's face it, no matter how they change the symbol they're still screwed.
The .OB means they're traded on the OTC Bulletin Board (as opposed to NASDAQ). The E means they're lagging in filing paperwork, such as operating results, to the SEC. It's not like they wanted to change the symbol like that.

So this is the end is it? Years of waiting and you get fucked. Hope someone kicks that muder fuckers ass who made IPLY close. :(

Oh just shoot me i cant bear knowing the truth!

It would be great to have Chris Avellone use his original Fallout 3 Design Doc. Even better, he can use the Aurora Engine and not have Interplay management looking over his shoulder.

That'd almost be as wonderful as the new MicroSoft Amiga with Intel Technology Inside.

The beautiful part of this is that Fallout Enforcer is Interplay's only recent game they've released that they can still sell - and it's not selling. That bit of irony warms my heart. They may have put a serious hurt on the license by making it, but they ended up dooming themselves in the process.

Yup, Fargo did want to go more console with Interplay, and that's when IPLY started racking up more debt. Titus already owned a third of the company by then, though.

You would have never seen a good Fallout 3 out of Interplay anyway. I'd rather see no Fallout 3 than a crappy one. The license has already had enough bad things done to it, why ask for more just for the sake of it?

I heard this from 2 different people:

Person 1
Yep. Herve and Krew, because they had such
high opinions of their employees, took the liberty of
installing additional security cameras throughout the
building over the holiday weekend. They also carted
off all the cool props and artwork that wasn't nailed
down, like the giant Earthworm Jim model and the
Deathclaw.

I talked to some friends there. The info is not totally true. The doors will be open until Friday. But seems like its finally the end.

I havn't gotten any confirmation, but I figured I'd stick it out there

From what I have heard, the employees have until Friday to move all of their personal possessions out of the Von Karman building.

No official word yet on whether they'll receive any of their back pay; no plans were disclosed about Interplay relocating to a different office space to try and continue operations. (Both of these are highly doubtful). :?

By CA law, Interplay could still remain in the Von Karman building for the next six months, before the building's owner can have them removed by the authorities.

Really? Is that one of those infamous stupid American laws? Also, wouldn't their energy be cut off?

Yes it is, BTW thanks for the conformation eragon  , but we don't really know when that 6 month period started. We do know that these guys have behind for quite awhile now.

and they have power as long as they pay their electricity bill

Aurora engine? Yeah, that would be great. I love games with mediocre graphics, stability issues and shitty performance.

Are you saying landlords in America don't have the ability to cut off their tenants power regardless of the energy bills?

Stranger and stranger

Not that I really know, but from the places I rent that while the water pipes and electrical wiring belong to the landlord, what flows thourgh them belongs to the vendor and then the tenant. That's why when I was, well, squatting in a house we could still get utilities and such, without the landlord's permission.

In any case, in the US you usualy pay utilities separate from rent, if that's different than in Europe.

/off topic

No, in Europe you pay for your utilities seperately from your rent, depending on your contract (some contracts are including, but generally it's seperate). However, I have squatted houses here in Holland, and while it's illegal for the landlord to cut off your water (basic human need or something), he can, and will, cut off your gas and electricity.
