My defensive line is known as, 'the Milkmen of Doom'.

Ok guys, I've sent the four teams that still have non-starting players in their lineup (Sander, Maphusia, corpron and Nexus6) a reminder to pick up worthy defensive players and fix their lineup.

If they don't, it'll ruin the competitive balance, so we have two options:

1. If a manager is not competing, I lock his team and dump his roster to the waivers. This is a bad solution.

2. If a manager is not competing, I take over the roster. The only thing I do is dump players that are on IR or otherwise not starting, replacing them with whatever Yahoo! ranks as next-highest, and setting the lineup each week so he's not starting bye-weeks. I do not offer or accept trades or drop badly performing players for teams like this.

If no one objects, option 2 it will be. I hope everyone who joined will compete, but it doesn't look like it.
 
Well that's a bummer. I agree wiht your choice on the second option, it just kinda stinks since it basically means we're mostly playing against you, which isn't really all that exciting.
 
I think Nexus6 will play but he has to kind of drop his Seahawks-centrism if he wants to compete. Haven't seen much of rcorporon but who knows. Nexus6 doesn't seem to take it too seriously and he doesn't have to, but I'm hoping he'll expand the minimum effort of setting up his roster. Sander seems to have disappeared wholesale, but should compete if he returns.

So with some luck, it won't be necessary, or at the most for one or two teams. I'd hate to do this for 8 teams, it won't do our competitive nature any good.

Typical over-management style.

I suggest the following:

option #3. let the team rot.

Otherwise you provoke the image of imp managing multiple teams to his advantage. Why should viable players be arbitrarily assigned to crap teams by you, when arguably others might want them on an active team that could actually have a chance of beating your team?

option #4. delete two teams

You could also delete an even number of teams and create a waiver draft so everyone gets an equal opportunity at the available players. You 'managing' multiple teams shouldn't be an option.

option #5. find someone willing to pick up a dead team

You can allow someone to take over a dead team - like eom for instance. Unless you're skeered...

I'm not talking about managing the teams, I won't. I won't look at players I "like" and pick them up, or players I "dislike" and dump them. Ideally, all I would do for these teams is dump their defensive lineup and replace them by players picked by Yahoo! (that's to say, players Yahoo! ranks as likely to score points), and from then on all I'd do is set the lineup from a week-to-week basis to fill in byes. I'll not pick up players to fill in byes if the team can't do it, and I won't dump players if they can be replaced from the teams own roster.

I know imp traumatized you and all, but considering all I'll be doing is dumping players that won't play and picking up leftovers from the IDP pool, there's no way I can do this to my advantage.

Yes. That'll be an option. But we had a hard enough time finding players for here anyway, and eom, like you, isn't an NMA user, and this is an NMA league.
 
It looks like Maphusio, Nexus6 and rcorporon have rejoined us and completed their teams (though Maphusio is still starting Steve Smith, maybe he believes he's so good he can catch balls even when suspended?)

That means that only Sander is AWOL, and he seems AWOL from NMA in general. If I don't hear from him and nobody objects, I'll hand over his team to eom if eom is interested.

Can we wait until after the first week? That way i can get an easy first win....er..... that way he has a chance to play since technically the season hasn't started yet... :lol:
