Anyone can get it if they want to make a EU account, Personally I am going to wait until I can play the full game. On Team Xbox in the "Other Console/Platform Discussions & Debates" we have a 150 page KZ2 megathread that is buzzing right now. So far only one guy has came back with impressions and I will post what he said.

Its friggin great!
DL, installed, played through 3 times (Very short demo)
Controls take a slight getting used to, after that it was amazing.

Enemy AI is super, they use cover well, blind fire, come from a bunch of directions.

Superb graphics. While being pinned down an enemy bullet flew towards me and pinged off my concrete barrier cover leaving a chunk torn out right in front of my face.

I died alot.

Cover system is top notch, dont get greedy tho..i got melee killed.

WOW 10/10 from what tiny bit they give you!

and as I was typing this another person came back with impressions.

Impressions

Control: Default controls take some getting use to, I had trouble with the button placement for the first playthrough and part of the second playthrough. The aiming itself is very slow on default settings, so I had to up X and Y to compensate. It feels much better now. I've gone through all the different button configurations and so far I'm sticking with standard 1. (Only because it took me so long to get use to that, I don't want to try anything else.)

You use L2 to crouch / cover, it's pretty useful in singleplayer. I found myself behind cover 2/3 of the time I played.

Shooting people from far away via hip is worthless unless you want to waste an entire clip to hit them one or two times. You pretty much have to use sights if you plan on keeping your ammo. You can either toggle or hold for sights. There was no sniper gun (le sigh.) If you get shot, it slows you down when you're running toward someone. Grenades have a nice little cooker timer on them so you have no reason why you blew yourself up trying to cook a grenade. Also really useful for throwing "explode in yo face!" grenades.

2. Sound - It's DTS people......sounds amazing. They've nailed the sound. Even when your shooting, as your clip starts to run low, the firing sounds different. (Good indicator to let you know to reload in advance.) The voice acting is GoW bad. If you can stomach GOW voice acting, you'll be at home with KZ2. Sad that Valve uses a smaller budget for voice overs but has superior work. Seriously why are all the characters sooooo lame in these big budget "argh I'mma badass" shooters? F.cking A. Take a lesson from Valve ffs, roid rage + foul mouth != badass character / character design.

Game - Like most shooters this gen......generic as f.ck. Clearly no one will be talking about single player for years to come outside of graphics.

GG and Epic should get together and make the ultimate generic shooter called Gears of Zone 3. With muscle men galore.

3. Graphics - I don't really think this needs any talking about. Framerate is rock solid even though really chaotic stuff.

4. AI - KZ1's AI was pretty damn......dumb. Not so much the case with KZ2's AI. my second playthrough I actually died. (I got flanked and 3 of them threw grenades at me. One at my exit, and two in the small room I was in. Needless to say I died.) If you sit around too long, you're probably going to get creamed. I'll probably end up playing this on hard to see how much more agressive the AI can be. They love to throw grenades when you're not looking at them.

i am downloading the demo now! 8-)

10% downloaded so far

EDIT: Finished playing the demo!

Graphics: Definitly one of the prettiest games i have ever seen! looks AMAZING!

Controls: Not that good to be honest, could have been a lot better.

Sound: Great, the sound effects and the weapon sounds are very realistic and nice!

overall i must say that i am definitly buying it! :D the gameplay was nice! the enemies take cover, they are quite inteligent and you wont survive long if you exit your cover and so on.
Great game overall, must buy, i just wish they had worked a little bit more on the controls :(

Its going to be a love/hate thing it appears for a lot of people. There will be no COD type "sniping with heavy machine guns across the map". Personally I enjoy this type of gameplay and have no issues with using cover and a slower more "realistic" pace.

I think Ketto (who I quoted earlier) said it best.

I'd much rather take KZ2's aiming over COD's "Master sniper with a M60" approach.

I can imagine some people who are a fan of more arcadeish gunning and running will be turned off by it.

Also, the current controller layout everyone seems to love at the moment is Alternate 2 which has been dubbed the "COD4 layout".

Which layout are you playing on? Everyone I have talked to who has played the demo said it takes a while to get used to it and fiddle to what fits your personal playstyle.

I am also seeing some people saying they had to fiddle with the sensitivity a bit.

yup, i have to make it a bit more sensetive because the movements are a bit too slow on the default settings.

Yeah that was done on purpose. I think they were trying to eliminate the "bunny hopping wild strafing" type gameplay you see in so many FPS games these days.

I am still trying to resist downloading the demo.

why resist?

Games I know I am going to buy I normally pass on the demo. Like to play it all at once and all that.

I might end up downloading but will probably wait a day or so. People are saying the downloads have slowed down pretty bad now that people are getting work and bogging the servers down.

the demo is quite short, it takes about maybe 10 minutes to finish, or maybe 5. so if you are asking me, you should give it a try.

I probably will end up having to just because it is all everyone is talking about on System Wars and in the KZ2 megathread on TXB. :P

Will probably do me good to play it several times before it comes out anyway. I finally got my platinum trophy on Resistance 2 so I can focus on just getting used to Killzones slower more tactical feel. Gotta get all that "run and gun" outta my system.

Yup, it definitly isn't a run and gun game, few seconds out of your cover and boom! you are dead!

I broke down and downloaded it. Jacking the sensitivity up definitely helps. Still have not decided if I like Standard 1 or Alt 2 more. Pretty sure I can love to learn either one of them.

Holding the controller with my index fingers on the top triggers and my middle fingers on the bottom triggers works wonders. It feels a bit weird because I have never held a PS controller like that but it will just take some getting used to.

Finally got the demo downloaded.I played the demo trough twice and it left me a good impression of the game. Surely it isnt anything revolutianary but it feels like very polished and solid fps.
What ireally like is how you and your enemies seem physically like real human beeings, They crawl if theyre hit, jumping over obstacles seems cumbersome, Throwing granades takes its time and taking cover and shooting controlled bursts is essential. Leaning is in(allthough only behind walls, doors and obstacles(means you need to be "attached" to cover)) and it works quite well even in more intense moments.
Enemies cant take too many shots and very eagerly take cover which makes finally hitting them satisfacting. Hitting them doesnt seem to be ncessary for em to react to your fire.

Also sounds are very nice.

The demo at least sure is cool, but I was hoping for co-op campaing on the same console. Without it I'll probably just buy it when it goes cheaper, maybe platinum (it has the potential go there.)

So did any lucky German posters happen to get a rose from the Helghast who was walking around Munich? :P

Interesting marketing campaign on Sony's part to say the least.

How does one make a European PSN account? I've got a NA and a Japanese one, but neither of their stores have the demo...

Just make an account with your location set to the United Kingdom and put in some bogus information. I used the address for Buckingham Palace.

You can even make an account online if you think its easier that way. http://uk.playstation.com/registration/

You will still have to make a sub-account on your PS3 but that only takes like 10 seconds.
