Killzone 2

Played the beta, then the demo, liked it a good amount, the only thing that annoys me is that it's just on PS3, which to me has some of the worst MP on any console, noone has a mic, lag is absolutely unbearable at times, and everything just feels so damn clunky, seriously, I'll surely play the campaign, but I'll wait for it to hopefully go to another platform before I even try to get into its MP.

Which game did you play that lagged? Killzone 2 will have dedicated servers so you will not have to worry about that. Resistance 2 had 60 players in one game and I never lagged on it. I always thought that was a pretty impressive feat on Insomniacs part.
Very few people ever complained about lag with R2 and most of the issues could be traces back to an issue with said persons internet.

I would not count on it going multiplatform. Guerrilla Games is a first party studio, wholly owned by Sony Computer Entertainment.

Just about everything lags for me on PSN, well, most FPS that is, MGS4 usually does fine, but stuff like Resistance and Call Of Duty was horrible, and just aside from any actual gameplay problems it's really rare for me to find a room where even half the people have microphones, if I was gonna play in complete and utter silence I'd just play the campaign again, when I go online I'd like to have some fun on said game and also try and talk to some interesting people, not play the campaign with cheap enemies minus the story.

The network game is SOOO cool! Intensive, exciting and merciless (except for the mercy shots; almost everyone severly wounded guys are shot by someone while they're cravling with their last strenght.)
 
Going to pick up my pre-order today. Found out I'm getting a toque with it, which is neat.

I'll be on tonight for sure.

I found that on the System Wars KZ2 sticky last night. As a fan of the original Killzone intro I got a good chuckle out of it.

My copy should be here in the mail soon, I pre ordered it from Amazon with release date delivery so I could get those Helghast/ISA clothes in Home.

It is pretty hard to believe the release date is finally here, many thought it would never happen. 4 years and millions later Guerilla Games with the help of a couple Sony exclusive studios managed to turn mediocre series into a AAA series.

For those interested Gamespot (which was holding its review) released it a few hours before midnight last night.

It is a nice watch if anyone is fence sitting on the purchase of this game.
 
Just played some multiplayer. Controls will take some getting used to, but it's fun as hell.
 
Just beat the game on normal. I cannot remember the last time I had so much fun with the solo campaign of an FPS game. It was not really no cake walk either, there were a few times I got cocky and tried to run and gun and was humbled very quickly.

Going to jump online tomorrow.

You probably want to change them to "alternative 1", when the aim is L1 instead of R3 (much easier to get used to and, well, use.)
 
Yeah the Alt 2 or "CoD4 Controls" as they have been dubbed are wonderful for multiplayer. Especially since you do not have to worry about the cover system online.

Seriously, you do not like the level design? I cannot get enough of the environment,architecture,background,etc. The world is so "alive" and so much is going on its amazing. I love the frantic pace of the game, the action almost never stops.

The solo campaign was nothing short of epic for me, I am replaying it again on Elite and having my ass handed to me. :P

In one of the multiplayer games I played on the Badlands map there were three guys at the end of the match sitting still looking up at the colossal turbine things surrounded by the sandstorm. Threw a frag grenade and opened up on em. :lol:

To bad the gorgeous scenery will not always prove to be such a great distraction.
