I usually don't care if a character is likeable or not as long as they arr written well. Cloe is not written well, and she has basically zero redeeming qualities in the narrative to make me like her. Aside from her off puting personality, she is completely useless during the whole story, stupidly finding new ways to die every episode and never having any character moment that shows that any of her abrassiveness is worth anything narratively speaking.

And any time you point out how absurdly toxic and miserable she is to everyone around her the fanbase always has an excuse for her.

Yeah, I disagree because I really like Chloe because she's such a flawed self-pitying character.

Just not as much as Max.

Hence this: "The final kick is that you could have a well-written character that's a shallow, angsty teen."

But as I've already mentioned. First of all, they don't give you the option to tell her to fuck off if you happen to dislike her and secondly, she, just like the rest of the game's cast, is not written well at all.
