Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!

Sweet to see sketches, Wooz - they look dramatic and intense.

Splendid as always.

Work In Progress

I really, really, really got to finish these characters ASAP.

Well, according to Alec, I pick them off the Gener-i-matic "Game Art" shelf.

I actually stole the sharkmouthed gun idea off a Yahtzee Zero Punctuation review while he pokes fun at overpowered big manly men wearing half a car and wielding BFG 9000's against enemies firing peashooters, or something.

F4 Phantoms would be far less cool without the bulky camo look, droopy tailfins and shark mouths.

Pogue Colonel: Marine, what is that symbol on your rifle?
Private Joker: A peace symbol, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Where'd you get it?
Private Joker: I don't remember, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Marine, what is that other symbol on your rifle?
Private Joker: It's a shark's mouth, sir. It increases the damage dealt by my rifle. And frankly, it's just cool, sir.
Pogue Colonel: You tweaked your rifle for coolness and damage, yet you display a peace symbol? What's that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?
Private Joker: No, sir.
Pogue Colonel: You'd better get your head and your ass wired together, or I will take a giant shit on you.
Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Now answer my question or you'll be standing tall before the man.
Private Joker: I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir.
Pogue Colonel: The what?
Private Joker: The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Whose side are you on, son?
Private Joker: Our side, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Don't you love your country?
Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Then how about getting with the program? Why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?
Private Joker: Yes, sir.
Pogue Colonel: Son, all I've ever asked of my marines is that they obey my orders as they would the word of God. We are here to smash the opposition. It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over.
Private Joker: Aye-aye, sir.

Pretty sweet stuff Wooz.

If the bullets don't kill you, and if you survive the flames, you will be cut mercilessly with the knife.

And if that doesn't help, he'll smother you with his tremendous bulk.
I like the picture, but the armor baffles me. Can he twist his neck or hips? Not that it matters, being that heavily armored. . .

Neck, no. Hips, a little, the plates would overlap, lobster-style.

A bit of an intentionally overdrawn, ridiculously superarmored character. Why would he need to turn his neck, he's "wearing half a car" and wields a ridiculously huge bayonet-flamethrower with teef painted on ;-)

Heh. Yeah. Funny you would mention that.
I was looking at the art in this thread and I immediately thought: "If one has a bag and one tosses some Bilal, some Metropolis and some Judge Dredd in there before stirring, one almost certainly ends up with something Wooz could have 'concocted'.
Funny, no?

But hey: great work, man. You should just keep doing what you do best.

are you still loving me for cover art?

Yes. Got the weekend off, plenty of time to do that.

hey wooz! can YOU twist your neck or hips? fag.

Yeah, although my neck goes "crukcrukcruk" everytime I twist it. About the hips, ask YO MOMMA.

Metropolis? Lang's movie? What gave you that idea? I like it, but I fail to see where it's evident in my character designs :/

Funny, no?

I'm slapping my thighs as I type this.

But hey: great work, man. You should just keep doing what you do best.

Thank you, wise sensei. Up to now I was just guessing.

Reminds me of Metropolis. And I forgot Star Wars. You once posted some desert people that looked almost exactly like Tusken Raiders. :D

Anyway: who gives a fuck? I steal stuff all the fucking time. If it helps me make a better picture, I'd be a fool not to.

cool, but i can't help but wonder why the bayonet has a pointy edge, if you can't stab people with it without damaging your igniter gas tube... :)

Hehe. This time I think SuAside really has a point.
Bad design, Wooz. And it's too obvious.
The rest = cool as usual.

Of course, with a mask like that, freedom of movement (the head) would be so goddamn limited, these soldiers would just be sitting ducks against lightly armoured troops, I guess.

Fixed.

The light armoured troops would be trampled to deff.
