Megamod 2.4 Technical Issues and Suggestions

@Nirran: Yes, it happens in my current game. I just picked up car from Den, and in every random encounter car disappear. I installed your mod last and used scripts from megamod zip. However, maybe it is not your mod in question, I will test it on other system without your mod tonight and see if it works.

The car should still appear on standard random encounters, and on forced encounters that use maps that are set up as random encounter maps though, so if that's your problem then I'm probably thinking of something different.

So far car don't appear in any encounter or any map...
 
i tested with both the scripts from megamod patch and the scripts i have for my mod,they both spawn the car,has to be something,speficicaly,did the car breakdown and force you to find a part to fix it?you would have had to walk tosome location to find the part,then walk back to the location of car to install the part before the game would let you drive it again

Sorry, I didn't understand you first time - no, I didn't have encounter that broke down the car . It simply don't appear from the very first time I drive them out of Den.
 
id say do a fresh install of the mod,delete data folder(keep saves and music),install 2.35.2 then install all the patches,low to high order,then install any of my mods you want,then try,see if it does it still

Getting a crash with this error at the end of the Lara/Tyler battle:

"The instruction at 0048d890 referenced memory at 95f96738. The memory could not be read from."

What might be causing this?
 
could be you have drop weapons on death enabled and it is crashing because of the hook script,try moving hs_ondeath or disabling drop weaps in megamod.ini,see if the errors happens

edit : what version of sfall is installed in FO2?

Didn't work. I'm using the newest Sfall. It seems to happen a set time after completing the quest, after Lara and the gang disappears. Might it be related to the fact that I level up at the end?

Also, note that it's not the same error the other guy had, it's not crashing in the middle of the quest and the error message is different.
 
Reinstall didn''t solve problem with car - they simply don't appear in random encounters at all
At broken Hills and NR car jusy simply disappeared.
I just checked, in my game car in broken hills don't appear at all... :(
 
what was installed last MSlavko82?

@M4K i will look into this,tho in my game this does not happen,sometimes i think gremlins open files and delete code(gah)

edit : @MSlavko82 the problem with random encounters was the scripts for megamod in my mod,redownload should fix it

@M4K unable to reproduce this bug with megamod 2.42 files,if latest patch is not installed in your computer,i recomend instaling it

@Hemophiliac: I really don't understand why you are having any problems with this... especially if you say it happens some time after the gang moves. The fact that you level shouldn't play a part in it. However, if you want to test that theory, then try doing something else there and leveling up to see if you still get the crash.

Just to be sure about something: when you were asked about the hs_ondeath script, and you said it didn't work, what did you do? Did you move it to another folder entirely, or rename it. Or did you change the option in the megamod.ini file? I only ask because an hs_ or gl_ script will still 'fire' if those letters are at the beginning of it in most cases. Make sure that you change the megamod.ini file and remove/rename that hs_ondeath script.

Please let me know what happens.

Edit: Was just chatting with Nirran, and he suggested also trying to remove gl_test1_loot and gl_test2_loot from your scripts folder. Maybe the problem is the result of the critters trying to loot corpses.

try this,delete or move gl_test2_loot.int and gl_test1_loot.int(they are in scripts folder) then try again,not sure if that would cause it,but it is possible it may,just a hunch

what is the modified date of the script zicrtrnk in your script folder?

As for Broken Hills, clean reinstall (2.4, 2.41, 2.42) solved it too. Now it is working fine:) . Zicrtrnk script date is 6. march 2010.

I tried changing the option in the .ini, moving the file, and then both, but the crash still occured. I asked about the levelling because sometimes the crash occured immediately after distributing skill points and clicking "Done".

The looting scripts might well be the real culprit, because I've noticed crashes elsewhere when trying to loot corpses that have already been looted by critters, so I'll give that theory a spin right now.
 
found a bug in the trunk script,can cause all the items in the trunk to be destroyed,take all your crap out of the trunk untill you get the fix,email me if you want it faster then next patch,ill mail it

edit : glad that was the cause,easy to delete it ! (i dont play with them,is why i didnt find the bug)
