Megamod 2.4 Technical Issues and Suggestions

is there anyway to disable the cript that makes everyone go and loot corpses after the battle ends? this slows down my prehistoric PC a LOT...
 
Started a new game with 2.42 tonight. Have just reached the klamath sewers area, as soon as I try to enter the sewers, I end up in the wall in the small underground area.

Heres some pics to show you what I mean:

its possible you have a bad download,i just checked it with the latest patch files,checked good,try re-downloading,and then load a save from before you entered klamath trapper town for the first time,see if that gets rid of the bug

Damn, the download should be good, this is my second download. This time I got it from your site Nirran. Perhaps theres a conflict with one of your extra Mods? Since I did install a couple of them.

Anyway ill try and download again later when I have time.

Some things I noticed:

Mod seems to be packaged wrong. There are files in FO2/DATA/DATA/ and also files in FO2/PROTO instead of FO2/DATA/PROTO.
I moved the files to where I thought they should go, perhaps this is why mine has messed up :)

There were no Golden Geckos in my game at the toxic caves. None at Klamath either. this meant I had to cheat to finish the warrior quest.

i just checked it with the latest patch files

Where did you get those ones from Nirran? Ill try to download it from the site you used, and see how it goes.

damn that means i screwed up when i packaged the 2.42 7z,i will fix it now and post when i am done,then you should redownload cause you definetly should not have files in that dirrectory structure

You sure? Files like the cities list/party list etc are in /data/data, and the base party protos that need to be injected into master.dat are in /proto instead of /data/proto. Suppose it depends on what files were supposed to be in the package.
 
actually the 2.35.2 full zip had data\data\art\critters in it,i repacked and made sure the directory structure was sound,also the folder in fo2\proto\critters\ and files is placed for the bat file that is named RUNME.BAT,be sure to double click it,it will delete that folder when it is done

i re-downloaded all 3 of the 2.4x patches,and 2.35.2 full repack from this site,combined them and re-uploaded to my site,should do a clean install of data folder(keeping saves and music) then re-install the mod @nad02s

i used the 2 related files to your error and tested it,worked fine for me,i took the files from the 7z i just uploaded,don't know whats going on with your game if thats not it,hope that helps

Perhaps this is my problem though:

So its more than likely that I fucked up my game by moving files to places they arent supposed to go, luckily I wasn't too far into the game so should be able to test al this tonight.

Edit: Oh, one more thing. I found the names of the addons I was using in conjunction with Megamod:
1.Party Perks (didnt seem to be working, but I only levelled up twice)
2.Level Per Perk (working)
3.MegaCustomBooks(Havent seen books, too early in game)
4.MegaRepeatableQuests(Again haven't reached yet)

I think I also used MegaVanillaWeapons + Upgrades and also RandomEncounters, but may not have installed those mods this time round.

Are they all compatible? I could live without them, but some of them sounded too cool to miss :)

- can you help me with my missing elevator script ? i've downloaded from your web, installed all and none worked, just slowed down my game
- about klint, does he suit with the power armor now ? :(
- some troubles about NPC leveling, is it neccessary to delete some 00000xxxx.pro files in the data folder ? [ after got 2.42 installed ]
 
zhaoyun91, try changing these values in the ddraw.ini:


NPCAutoLevel=1

NPCLevelFix=1

Make sure they read =1 in your .ini

Hopefully this will solve the levelling issue you said you were having.

party perks wont show untill you have a party member in party,and the perks themselves have level requierments

all of the mods on my site are compatable,cept for frp mods with megamod mods

edit : i added the map scroll fix to my repeatable quests mod,just in case, redownload if this affects you(toxic cave)

edit : added crippling effects to my damage formula for aimed shots,affects these mods

*party perks
*custom perks
*scaled difficulty

Just a technical question:

Is this Mod working with any FO 2 version that is not english or russian?

I tried to install and play it yesterday, but it crashed before and after the temple of trials. There were also some strange bugs, like missing giant ant's in the temple after my first installation, making it impossible to play any further.
So i uninstalled and reinstalled it, and made sure that it happened in the correct order but besides having ants this time, the game was as crashhappy as ever.

After i had the old *ERROR* text messages, i renamed my language folder into german, and that did fix it, but the game was still a crashfest.

I've installed everything in the following order: FO2 german, Bloodpatch, (adding missing critters and a US FO2.exe) Megamod 2.35.2, 2.40, 2.41, 2.42.

Btw, the game is running fine with RP 1.2 or SFall, it was in both cases a full installation.

i have found and corrected a bug that stopped Klint from behaving normaly,recomend re-download
