Megamod 2.4 Technical Issues and Suggestions

I can't see custom (added by the mod) places on the travel list. I've discovered Shack and Farm but can only see Arroyo and Klamath on my known places list.


How do I fix this ?

such small places appears to be never included into that list. only big or important

actualy,in 2.42 they are not included,but i have created labels for every static location(including jen farm,toxic cave etc),even the out of gass one,and breakdown,they will be in next release

Thats funny. I swear the shack and the farm WERE added to my travel list in 2.35 release :))

I don't think I included those labels until 2.42. Did you make them for one of your other mods back when 2.35 was released?

On another note, I'm sure that everyone is playing the latest RP and so not really broken up about not having another version of the MM yet. I have been busy with a lot of real world issues lately, as well as another small project related to modding. However, work on the MM will continue, albeit somewhat slowly. I will have a full repack, along with a few additions/fixes (including the changes Killap used to eliminate the 'too many items' bug) out within the next couple of weeks.
 
got some questions
why does everyone running from me with start of a combat?) some run from the beginning, come get close to my char and then start running away
using 2.42 ver
perception droped to 1 with the first sand storm and seems not likely to restore, got 5 level already
is there any way of recovering it?)

is there a way to turn off auto loot?

1. wait until sandstorm/rain ends, save and delete weather.ini
2. delete gl_test1_loot and gl_test2_loot from data/scripts folder

1. perception do not recover with weather change, thats the problem; after deleting weather.ini perception is 1 and doesn't look like getting back to initial 4...

still do not understand why enemies are running from me in combat.
 
These subjects have been covered before, but:

The problem is that you saved your game during a snow/sand storm. Your perception is altered then. The only way to fix it is to use a character editor at this point. Deleting the files mentioned earlier will prevent you from having weather effects and, therefore, prevent this permanent perception drop from happening again. Graveworm wrote correctly regarding the NPCs looting corpses.

As for critters running from you, that is something inherent to the game. It's always been there. Sometimes they are too weak. Sometimes they are crippled. Maybe it is a function of the armor you are wearing. Sometimes they randomly run (I know Yakuza sometimes do this). Who knows?

i know this point, played original F1/2 hundreds of times) problem is they are not weak or crippled and i'm not so strong, they just run, either with the beginning of a combat or after approaching my char with messages such as "retreating" and alike; they fight with my fellow npc's but start running after turning on me
no matter whether they are rats or floaters and wanamingos
 
i will try again to fix the weather mod(was my fix included in the last release MIB?)

currently have a major fuck up,all source code is gone,in fact 1tb of shit i had is gone(only things i have were already on my site) when you click format in windows 7 instillation it formats every fucking drive(fucking hate MICROFAGS at the moment),anyway,will need a lot of shit from you MIB,decided seeing how my info is all gone i may as well upgrade my drives,they should be here tomorrow,then start over,good thing is all the source for my mods are already on my site(thank god)anyway,take me a week to make image files from all my dvd/cds again(fucking ACK)

what about some ideas i mentioned before? is it principally possible to include them into game?

could try i guess,but format completely re-writes the "point-to-files" info,prolly a waste of time,main things that are gone is just a ton of work for me(mostly images files,will have to search for alot of shit on the web) and my source code(and alot of that is things i can decompile,what i did decompile them to start with anyway),main thing for source code is my header files,that is the main problem

@Graveworm: Using dynamite to kill critters sometimes results in a crashed game. That is something from the original Fallout 2 game.

-I think making cigarettes addictive is a good idea. I think I can add that.
-Karmic titles can be added easily... if someone has some decent art skills and can draw images that seem appropriate.
-Don't know about the clock.
-What kind of "reaction check"? You mean to determine whether they run from you or not? That is in their AI. But, if you mean just general reactions, like how they react in conversation, that isn't necessary (nor likely to change) if you are already in combat.
-Locations are something always worth adding. I have more maps to include (including a ruined city). However, not many decent maps just lying around, waiting to be used.
-I have the bigmap, somewhere, waiting to be used. I was waiting for the ruined city aerial map to be completed. I don't think it was ever released.
-Alternate endings are something to be worked out. Right now, you can become a full-fledged monk of the Abbey and ignore your mission, thereby ending your game. I'll consider others.

errrm... no. in character screen there is field named so. it determines, who will be first in the combat or so.
