Megamod 2.44 Bug Reports and Suggestions

I know this was reported in earlier versions, but i have that bug where lenny disappears after his human transformation.

i tried a number of work arounds:

taking him to the bosf kicking him from the party before i do the sequencing...that causes a crash

keeping him invisible in the party...but then i get a ctd upon going to gecko (either zone)

anyone have any helpful ideas?
 
I am still getting the same error at the same place. I tried not applying the high-res mod to see if it worked, and it did not help.

I ran the installer with no errors, and then applied the fixes by copying them over the originals.

I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly.

Are we not supposed to be able to kill the big Rad Scorpion in the Temple of Trials? Cuz everytime I kill him and the combat ends the game CTD's with an error message of "the instruction at (bunch of numbers) could not be read from memory"

Edit: Well this is a strange. I dl'd the fixes for 2.44 and it solved the problem. I didn't think it would as no one mentioned the problem I was having. Also I didn't even have to start a New Save Game. It fixed the problem immediately on my current save. Which was also a relief as that Big Rad was a pain in the butt to take down, but worth it. XD
 
Updating on your request:

Loading that save simply says it cannot load it.

I run on Windows 7.

I've redownloaded the installer twice from nirran's site, so it is 2.44. I have installed all the fixes, and by installed, I mean copied over previous files.

Besides from that, there really isn't anything else i've done.

What part of the folder would you like a screenshot of?
 
@Dobrovik Thanks for the fixes everything works well now especially the "vertibird disappearing when you inspect it bug". hopefully the "Fassard missing in BH and BH not accessible bug" is also solved by this fix.
I would also like to report a bug regarding the Thief/Assassin Guild in Cold Hearts Farm, there are two quests i can't complete, these are the "Scout out Basement in BH" and "Basement in New Reno Arms," it might be due to the fact that i have a sneaky nature and sneaked into both basements before receiving these quests.
Anyway, awesome mod! it made an awesome game overflow with awesome sauce!
 
sorry, i spoke too soon, Fassard is still missing in Broken Hills, and yes, i do have the quest to find him. is there any way around this?
 
I've got several problems even after i downloaded the fix for the english version.

- When I try have a long conversation with Myron or Lynette or Marcus the game crashes.

- I can't use the holodisk's or maps so I can't find the Raider base and for some reason Myron doesen't tell me where I can find EPA.

- If I step into the BOS base they automatically attacks me.

regarding Myron, have you tried making him leave your party? he will first tell you about the Mordino stash in Golgotha, if you already dug up all the graves there, like i did, just return and click on the second or third grave directly south of the crossroads, the drugs should be there even though you've already opened it, after that threaten Myron that you would leave him again and this time, he will tell you about the EPA location, i hope this works for you.
 
There is a small cheat mod for MM :P

I'm little blind, and can not play to MM on highest resolutions.
So, I add a blue flashing aura for some pickable items, like monitor screens :P

Extract and copy to "\data\art\items\" with replace.
Do not forget to backup this folder!

Just to back this up, I'm having the exact same problem with the Megamod.
 
Is there any chance to make megamod installable on top of Killap's restoration project? If necessary - avoiding parts colliding with RP?

It's time for another bug report(s):
0) Just general thought. Megamod always seems to me as pretty "beta permanent" kind of mod. You know, new version comes, five bugs patched, seventeen introduced, and so on. Now however, after applying MM v2.44 and Drobovik's 2.44 "unoffcial patch" game seems pretty stable. No problems with save/load function, crashes/black screens happened once or twice so far. Good work, it is pleasure to play at last, unlike many earlier releases.
1) Den, Lara fight. Tyler's gang wears Tesla armors, which is very, very unbalanced since you can retrieve their armor after shooting them. 8-10 Teslas, 5k gold per piece in the beggining of the game is a HUGE boost, and taking them down with Klint, Sulik, Vic and Lara help is not so hard to do. Can't Tylers gang wear just standard Metal Armor mk I?
2) In Vault 15:
a) redundant armor drop (it drops two armor sets instead of one)
b) on 3rd floor there is guy with P90 and 9 mm ball bullets, which isn't exactly fitting :)
c) on 3rd floor in vault there is punching bag, but using it does not increase Unarmed by 5% like it does in Sierra Army Depot
3) NCR:

b) using Carson's computer reveals Abbey location and one of the option suggests that I am on Abbey's quest to retrieve information from that computer, which I am not on (I haven't get to New Reno yet)
 
Hi. I tried to play this mod about half of year ago but then it did not worked well and noone helped me with my issues. Now I need to give it another shoot but still encountering problems. Firs one is: 'you have selected graphics mode 4 or 5, but d3dx9_42.dll is missing. Switch back to mode 0, or instal an up date version of directx'. This is first error that appear due to start game right after instalation. What should I do?

What OS do you have? What DirectX version do you have?
I would start with DX9 installation or finding that dll file and place it both in game and Windows folder.
 
I have windows xp pro sp3, newest direct I found on net.
I put this dll file to windows folder.
Next errors that occure while trying to start game after reinstalation of mod:
1. game says 'couldnt find/load text fonts'
2. gmae starting and goes black.
3. Errour sound after entering temple.
4. Crazy slowness of game. hero is runig slower than standing and mouse, buttons, screen are moving slow and heavy too.

You don't need any newest possible DirectX. You need DirectX 9 and a particular version of one, but it shouldn't be a big problem in XP.
About slowness, I think its the problem of sfall and your graphic card. You should check its ddraw.ini config file and especially graphics section. Try another scaling method, check global shader and experiment with those. I have high-end graphics on my PC and some of the scaling filters are barely playable.
Of course, it could be also problem with your PC specs - if you barely meet F2 hardware requirements MegaMod with sfall could be veeery slow.
Eventually, if nothing helps, uninstall game, clean registry, remove game directory, restart windows, install game in other directory than usual, install MegaMod (windows installer recommended).
 
I dont know how to 'experiment with those'. Have no idea what is it and how to change it. Any tips plz?
Oryginal game is runing just fine. Problems are started after instaling a mod.
Reinstaling is not helping - just changes one problems to another ones.

1. Open ddraw.ini file (it's in main game directory). Find [Graphics] section.
2. Check ScaleFilter variable. Switch to another value [0-6, you dont want to play with 7].
3. Check TextureFilter variable. Change to 0 or 1.
4. Check GPUBlt variable. Change to 0 or 1.
5. Save file. Run game, check if it runs faster.
6. If game runs faster, you're done. Of not, repeat steps 2-6 (you don't need to change values every time, just check every available ScaleFilter if default one is no good for you).
