Yes i use Winrar.
Do i need to reinstall or remove and copy new pro files instead. Will it work?

Can i use the same savegames or do i have to start all over again ?

Another question: you speak of pro files.
What about the misc.lst file on those maps?
Because i do CTRLl+A

I delete all pro files and copy the original pro files (read only) in the maps.
Well all savegames are corrupt.
Tomorrow a new fresh install.

Btw... i have version 1.01 without children. Do i need to use the 1f2patchv1.02d patch.
I used this before installing MIB, maybe this causing problems too?

You do not have to reinstall the whole game. Reinstall the Megamod...all versions...all components.

Your old saved games will not work. They are already corrupted.

I don't know what CTRL A is supposed to do. I have no idea if/how it impacts the Megamod.

CTRL + A = select all files in map
 
It doesn't matter how the files are copied...just as long as they are. And to add the Children patch is no big deal. That is one of the few things that will work with this mod since it only adds graphics.

Ok...

I deinstall the game, clear up the register, restart pc, install F2, copy MIB like the manual say.
What about delete the sound files?
In the mod there is only 25sewer.acm.
There are further no sound files in de map.

Another question.
I always play as a female. But never get Maria join the party. Do i have a male character for this, or need i the Cult of Personality perk?
I wanna try Maria but not like a male character, so...

Tip:
1: about Vault City & Lynette. Maybe a good idea wenn enter her room that she automatically reacts like Metzger and other NPG. So you "have" to talk with her, not only stealing her Mentat :D
It will influence a lot i think. I read something about the reaction level. If blow the conversation you can forget other things too. So the first time have good speech and be nice to her :D

2: About passing Slim in Klamath. I lockpick (39) the door. Maybe it's better that it could only open with the key.

His stats change from :
HP 175 -> 275
Small guns -> Big Guns
AP 11 -> 12

I play a few minutes and relaod after a save and his stats going back, very strange.
Now has HP 275/175
Skills again Small guns.
If i give him a metal armor he gets weaker (less HP) too and skills are throwing ?

Klint with Leather Armor MK II: not possible to see his combat options, only possible to barter :(

Another bug in Ghost Farm:
I have 20 12 ga. Shotgun shells
I stealth 20 from guard and in my itemlist it still 20?

Same with the Vault City Guards.
Steal 2 times 30, and have 40 in my item list?
From another guard steal 20 x .44 Magnum JHP
Have 48 in itemlist and ends with 60...?

Now this whole thing is weird. It sounds like there is a global variable being triggered in Vault City that is causing havoc with Klint. I went back though Klint's script. There isn't anything there. I mean, Klint is a total cheat character. He doesn't care what your charisma, karma, or reputations are. He only considers intelligence (and then only when you first talk to him).

I ran into another variation on this. Klint and Sulik in party. No one else. I tell them both to wait at VC outer gate. I go in alone, first visit to VC. I do the usual: small courtyard quests, get day pass, talk to everybody in inner city, meet lynette, get gecko quests, etc. etc. I'm playing a good character. My karma's fine. INT 10, CH 2, Speech 100, no childkilling, I am a graverobber. Anyway, when I return to outer gate, I talk to Sulik first, because of low CH. Sulik treats me like I have become evil. Just rebuffs me with floating text, won't even open talking head dialogue. Klint - no problem. He likes me. He rejoins me. No amnesia, no weirdness at all.

I have no idea what the trigger is.

Solution? Reload, drop contraband on the ground, take both guys with me through the whole city.

Unless you have had new ideas since our last exchange on this subject, this is just an FYI.

Still really weird. Alright, I will go through Sulik's script to see what might have been triggered. You mentioned your karma was still good. Did you do anything to lower it at all? I know there are few evil quests in the inner city. I wonder if there is a good quest you did that gave you bad karma...?

I didn't know you could pick that lock with such low skill. I am not going to make it only accessible by using the key, but I could increase the skill required.

The problems you see with the ammo is due to the inclusion of TeamX's New Year mod, which was an element of New Vision 1.2. Ammunition is a little more scarce. All ammo amounts from critters in random encounters and in some locations are the correct amount. Most ammo has not been changed, but it tries to correct itself when you get new ammo.
So, let's say you have 20 shotgun shells. That used to be 1, for lack of a better term, 'brick' of ammo. Now, since the ammo has been changed, only 10 shells come in a brick. When ammo was added to certain characters in the mapper, let's say they were given 2 bricks of ammo...so in this case the critters would show as having 40 bullets, even though when you add them to your own inventory it should only increase by 20. This is all throughout the game since it would be a huge pain to change. The whole idea really was just to make the store owners spawn less ammunition.

And I still have no idea what is wrong with your Klint. Some of that stuff is expected, given that he is a hacked NPC, and doesn't work like the others. Read the readme on Klint.

Are you using any other mods or patches? Are you using a loader program? What country version are you using? There is some stuff going on that doesn't make any sense.
 
Im using UK 1.01 not patched. I did a clean install and copy the mod like the readme file says.
Wenn loading it's version 1.02, i assume this mod did that.
Only add the children in the critter map.

Not using other mods.

I try different approaches with changing armor, i think you have to put him his weapon away before remove his armor.
Btw, Klint has a Combat Armor now and all is fine; I killed a Vault City Patrol for him. - 10 karma :(

I'm only traveling with Klint have also CH 2.
So if i read it good, Sulik will join if let Klint wait?

Klint will always join you. He doesn't care what your charisma is, or how many characters you have in your party. There is one situation at the beginning where he will not join you. However, if you get past that and get him to join you, he will always rejoin you.

I will keep experimenting with Klint to see if I can reproduce these errors.

Well another bug...
Klint using Combat Shotgun, i give him MAW (CAWS), say take best weapon and he take the Crowbar.
Settings Weapon Pref = Ranged
I need to take all melee weapons from him, even the Wrench & Bolt :D

About the Mysterious Stranger...are his/her settings: Distance = Stay Close To Me ?

Annoying, im mostly hit and run, she/he keeps following me instead killing those others :(

Well i have LvL9 clean savegame in a backup, if it keeps annoying me :D

Yes (s)he stands 20 tiles from me, (s)he starts shooting wenn there's only 1 left :(
Think it's better to take those Better Criticals :D

Another glitch.
Klint has 2 (empty) miniguns.
I say take best weapon (click 2 or more times).
Say 2 or more (Depends how much weapons he has in slot) times "Put weapon away"
Go trade and empty miniguns
Do it all over again results in spamming ammo, ooh, infinity ammo.
Works also with other NPG's and Guns.
Well if you have 10 empty minguns = 1200 ammo , you see it at his carrying weight :(

About Karma: If you not wanna kill a friendly NPG for no negative KARMA, shoot him in the leg, Klint kill him/her.
Should not suppose to be that way i assume :D

Sulik can handle Combat Shotgun... ooh, no good idea giving him a burst weapon :D
 
Oh yea... I noticed that there are a few instances in game when the amt of ammo shown is not the actual amt when you transfer it to your inventory...

i.e. you open a locker and there's ec ammo X 50, but when you "take all" or drag and drop, the ACTUAL amt that appears in your inventory becomes X 20.

This happens at enclave main base, and a few other places (sry I can't remb exactly where)

And regarding klint's armor and the crashes - it happened to me but I managed to change his armor somehow and continue the game. Also I've noticed that Klint levels up with his armor, which I am guessing is an aspect of the friendly klint mod...

BTW is it possible to finish the cold hearts questline in this version? Cos if no one else has achieved this feat, I'm just gonna give up at trying to get into that locked room...

Was just upgrading my Luck and see so much space beneath NCR. Just checked it, hmmm :)

Hi I was wondering if this is a full install of the Megamod, or if it just installs the update 2.1.1. As far as I can tell its a full install, but the readme in the setup says otherwise and I just wanted to check. Cheers. I should be the full version.
Well i tried that exe before and encounter some errors. Not sure if it was my mistake.
So MIB88 adviced me to use the original install,

MIB88_Megamod_2_for_Fallout_2
MIB_88_MegaMod_Update_2_1
MIB_88_MegaMod_Update_2_1_1

Like the readme file say. It works fine now. The only issue is the armor changing from Klint.
 
Get Vic before even solve the farm quest !

I start all over again, made a new character so i tried something out.

It's possible with Lockpit 39 (again) to unlock the door wenn Sneak is above 90 and vic will talk with you like in the normal game.

Hmmm, if find other things that not suppose to happen i let you know :D

I've had the same problem with Klint when running in the UK version, so i just installed the US and the mod worked correctly
 
What do you mean with installing the US version. Do you have more editions or is it just a patch you used?

Eldridge in New Reno does upgrades without the upgrade items.
Only ask money and he fix it.
 
@limbabnees: I appreciate the fact that you bring these things to my attention, because there are plenty of real bugs in the mod.

That said, you are going to find a lot of things which you say 'you shouldn't be able to do yet' in the mod. There are over 1400 scripts in an unmnodded game (the Megamod adds another 300 so far). For example, the authors of New Vision did not change every script (along with maps, variables, etc.) in the game with references to Vic to fit their mod. That would have been a huge task. Instead, they modified the story somewhat. If you decide you don't want to play along the story as it is presented to you, then don't be surprised when elements of the original game pop up. If you were truly role playing, and the game did not mention Vic to you, would you know to go to the Den and save him from the slavers? Of course, not...you are just relying on previous knowlege of the game. I know that this would be a problem in a game that was started from the 'ground up', but mods don't work that way. The authors make changes and try to get them to work within the confines of the existing game as best they can.

Heodien just meant exactly what he said: he used a different country version... of the game. There is only one version of the Megamod.

I shall check on Eldridge. I don't know what the authors originally meant to do in his case. After all, he is not the one who actually upgrades weapons. If you go to his source, then you do require the parts. Maybe it is assumed that if you have the money and you leave everything to Eldridge, then his source actually has the parts.

Don't worry about trying to remember specific examples. I know it happens pretty much everywhere. The only way to fix it is to redo EVERY critter and locker on EVERY map that has ammunition. Pretty big task. It is on my list.

And you should be able to do all the Cold Heart quests in your version. A few loopholes were found (like if you kill Metzger or Salvatore too early, then you can't). But all the other problems were with dialogs. So it should be possible for you to finish them.

At last i have the Sniper Rifle (nice, Bozar too), but i can't reload the Sniper Rifle.
What's the problem with it?

And another bug: I found the Sniper Rifle in the locker, i went down and came back. The locker was closed and after i opened again a Sniper Rifle.
I reload the "entrance save" from that map before i even did something and tried it again. Only 1 Sniper Rifle. Strange :D

And what about those NPG's in Lab coats, can you talk with them?
I'm not, no responce.

Wenn activate, it's not possible to quit. It want disappear, but can use escape for loading other savegame or exit the game. Wenn loading other gamesaves, Mr Fixit keep in screen. Only option i to exit te game and restart.


Mr Fixit works on other maps good.

You are not using the right ammo for the sniper rifle. It has been changed.

Check the data/text/english/dialog folder. Among the files should be b21lbman.msg, b21lman2.msg, and b21woman.msg. If you don't have these files, then you do not have Megamod update 2.1 installed correctly.

I just tried using Mr. Fixit in B21. No problems here. May be connected to what I said above.
