MIB88 MegaMod - opinions, technical issues, etc.

Is anyone else having troubles downloading these files? I managed to get Update3 off 3D Downloads, but the other 2 won't download. I don't get the window for open/save file. Any ideas if it's my computer.

I can download Killaps patch from the alternate link but not 3D Downloads. Is it the web site causing the troubles maybe?

Lastly, does anybody know if the fork, spoon, cans, and vault dwelvers ancient weapon have any use?

The thing with Sierra was completely unintentional. As for those items, they have no use except for a couple, as very basic weapons. Not sure if TeamX was planning on incorporating further uses for those. Maybe we'll find out in NV2.

Oh, I finished updating about 80 scripts or so from the Lootable armor mod. I will add a few more fixes from Killap before I release another update.

Finally, I would like some input from all of you. I spoke to Lich a while back about it, and he seemed ok with it. I would like to add some of his ideas to the Megamod. I have not finished playing through it yet, but I did like his Abandoned City and the new area beneath the Arroyo temple. Anything in particular you all would like to see?
 
Epa,Abbey and primitive tribe are in?If not,it would be cool to see it,finding sulik's sister,poor guy,never saw his sister again,even after saving the world hehehe....
In this new patch we will have to reinstall the game?
How about adding some new vaults like in fallout bibles?!There is a lot of things there that could be added that they left behind,thanks,i think killap is doing that too aint it?

MIB88,maybe the removal of the kids in the Den(it is a separated mode already out there). What can I say: not a kid person. And is a bit annoying to enter in shops and exit from them in combat mode.Any other people on forum for this one?
Jack, wasn't trying to put you in your place or god knows what else passed through your head. I have the same frustration when I'm not able to do the max that can be done. And, mate, you are like the first one who actually knew form where my alias is.And that quick. I must say I'm impressed.

These are all in the up coming mod AL which is well over due for release, also Killap is working on a True to the origional version of the above (plus the sub)

Hopefully we will see this combined with this mod

I realy hope we get to see a super megamod at some point with the following:

Fallout demo, Las Vegas, New Arroyo, Toxic caves, BSM 2.0, Killap addon and AL

All you have to do is delete the offending FRMs
 
If you delete the frms wont they steal you anyway ?
I would also like to get rid of the kids, or at least have just one at the door, so I could enter by the other side.

The UK version kids patch simply adds the frms and the kids dont steal from you without them, so it should work fine the other way around as far as I know.
 
I like the game the way it is,with kids and all,but one question,does this mod boosted their stealing skill?!?!Because they are getting my items as hell and its soo hard to steal it back
 
Actually, I think that the 1.02 patch made them so damn good at stealing. I remember once when they managed to get my supersledge.Since then I've always entered and exit from a building with kids around only in combat mode. They can't steal while you are in combat mode, so I calculate how many APs I need to get in or out without being near the damn kids.

Those are all things I'd like to incrporate. Wild_Qwerty had some really good maps forthe Toxic Caves that was unfinished. And there was a New Arroyo mod that was supposed to be out last July that just disappeared, unfortunately. And I do plan on putting in the next New Vision, if TeamX doesn't mind. The same goes for the Primitive Tribe and EPA, as well. And I have a really good map for the Hubologist's hideout...I just don't know what to do with it. Anyway, point is, I am gonna keep adding to this. I am not even close to being done.

As for the kids issue, I don't understand the big deal. If they steal something, just take it back. I always make it a point to attempt to steal from them every time I go past them, to see if they took something from me. Maybe it would be cool to add something to their scripts to have them generate random equipment. After all, it makes sense that the kids would be stealing from others too.

Btw the abbey is already in game, you can find in northwest of vault city on the very edge of the map.

I am pretty sure New Arroyo was being worked on recently, I hope that isnt dead as well, if it is Lich has made and is making a New Arroyo in BSM.

I am glad the Hubologist's hideout map is good, but I cant remember who made it.

To MIB88,

you say you have a good map for the Hubologist hideout? Have you made this yourself and can we get a look at it? It's another part of the game that I'd be interested in working on as it's not a very large area in all.

Quick question: It says to set all files in proto folder to read-only. Does this include the scenery files also? They are the only ones that are not set to read only.

One more thing. Does the EXE supplied have the fix for faster computers? I have an old computer and have to use the Interplay patch EXE to have my world map at a normal speed. Will I have to do the same with this mod?
 
Jack, the term otaku it doesn't have negative conotations for me. I'm myself an anime junkie. And even wikipedia states that the term can have either positive or negative conotations. In the western world, the term it has a positive conotation, while in japanese culture has a strong negative conotation. Have you read the two articles?They both make the distinction there.Also you have a sending towards an article written by William Gibson.I'd say a good analysis of today's world.
