More Fo3/VB goodies

Obviously Happy Birthday to Odin! Im must say...how nice is it to get a birthday gift like that? Anonymously too...somewhere out there is another deranged fan.

Pictures have the "feel" despite that disturbing squad tab stuff.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Doesn't look like power armor to me. Well, the helm looks form PA, but the rest... Perhaps it is a Combat Armor in its younger versions?

i like the power armor like that, the engine has nice lighting as well, good use of the dimples in the movie
i could see this game being easily top nnotch in both graphics and gameplay
yet alas, we can only comprhend what bethesda will come up with

Buon Compleanno, vecchio! :)

Concept art...meh. Anyone can draw up some pictures. What I really like to see are those in-game screen shots. The way the engine looks, is patterened, etc could not only serve us as eye candy, but could also lend cues to the guys at Bethesda.

Why is sneak separate from "Use Skill".

Hrm

The screenshot above is from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Fallout 3 will more than likely be using this very same engine. So, we can expect great graphics from Bethesda's Fallout 3, but can we expect good gameplay? That's the question.

The PA is shiney because the textures were not done, I'm guessing.

Tho mayeb they were going for the BOS knight in shining armor look

The VB graphics were not done and the engine is 3 years old now (I think). You can't expect it to hold up to a brand spankin new one.

Very true. I actually don't care much for graphics. I'd be quite happy if they made Fallout 3 using the original engine/art. Which is almost a decade old now, I think. I'm much more concerned with the story, NPC's, dialogue and the overall feel. Then comes combat and then graphics.

Happy Birthday Odin!!! :kewlpics:

I love looking at VB screenies, and day dreaming of what could've been.

...

Damn NCR Ranger. I have been saying all this time that if FO3 is real-time I probably won't buy it, but after looking at that screenshot...

Jeez, there's no way whatsoever my computer could handle that kind of engine. Turn Based would be the only way I could play it!

I can barely run VTM:Bloodlines on my computer without putting all the settings down

The annoying thing is I just spent a lot of cash on this computer about 1&1/2 years ago. I'm not a damn money tree

I think JES said the skeleton frames weren't finished for the character models, so that might be why the PA looks skinny. Also it's ironic people don't like it, since he said they kept it as close to the original as possible to avoid people going berserk over that.

Bethesda deathclaws sure have big wattles.

sure it's pretty but if its anything like that morrowind, graphics won't be worth the absolute boredom insighted by the game. I get a lot more joy playing the ugly ol fallout 1 than i do playing the snooz fest morrowind. Sigh, poor van buren.

I think it looks cool really smooth in terms of graphics , arms seem a little skimpy though but im sure you can adjust the width. In fact that would be interesting if due to new graphics and a slightly modded system you can have differant sized armor due to character skills and traits. lol Power armor for the thief type character being smaller and agile yet retaining the armor stats and increases of the original stuff.

Plus i could see that working Combat armor for the ranged character with built in radar lock on and enhanced snipe mode style vision. And Junktown is in this one whoopee i wonder if old Killian's decendants are about perhaps they could do summit around whether you sided with Gizmo or Killian as to what the town's inhabitants are like and behave.

I wanna see the allies you can get in this one , please ohh please dont include another Vic style man he was the biggest pile of shite i ever capped eyes on. Well i say he was the worst combat ready NPC as Lenny and Myron dont count.

Plus to end it happy birthday big man i'd buy you a beer but due to me not knowing your location it is not possible.

Looks like a 3D model of power armor, not concept art. I think its a model that was created in 3DSMax or equivalent tool. Not anybody can draw up those.

That's actually a screenshot from The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion; it's not Fallout 3 or in any way Fallout related. I posted it to demonstrate what to expect from Fallout 3 -- Graphics wise.

No kidding, eh. I just got myself new computer three weeks ago (2.1 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 128 MB Video Card) and when I saw the screen for TES: Oblivion, I was like "aww shit, now I’m gonna have to upgrade again!"

Fallout 3 will probably requite a 256 MB Video Card, 2 GHz Processor and about 1 GB of RAM, in my opinion. It's going to be some pretty top of the line shit… fortunately or unfortunately… It’s debatable.

Right over your head.

I think that's a pretty silly assumption. Considering those are the rough specs for what you'd need to play several higher end modern games at reasonably high frame rates on maxxed settings (HL2, Vampire, Doom 3, Farcry, etc... Those are actually close to my comp specs, and I can't keep perfectly smooth frame rates on Vamp or HL2 on anything over 2x AA / 8x AF) I seriously doubt they'll be the same minimum specs necessary to run a game that probably won't be released for another two or three years.

I read on here that it was apparently being released in a little over a year from now. This being the case, thats probably the specs your going to need.
