My Fallout 3 wishlist

Unless developers write two distinctly different modes of gameplay, it will be a LONG time before physics cards do anything more than make the game pretty. I've been playing computer games my entire life, from terminals to modern PCs, and that's just the way it is. Remember when graphics cards were new? I remember vowing not to buy Quake 3 because it was going to require a 3D card (around the time Quake 2 was announced, it was announced that it would be the last id game with software rendering -that said it STILL kicks Q3's ass). Now everything uses 3D accelerators (even me, and yes, I did buy Quake 3) and in a decade (or maybe less. Maybe 7, or even 5 years) everything stands a good chance of using physics accelerators as well. I suspect to see a resurgence in full-tower cases as the need for these extra cards is incurred, especially with the resurgence of linked video cards. So if Fallout 3 makes use of a physics card, rest assured that it will be for eye candy only.

Warning some of the wishes maybe mutually exclusive.

A Brotherhood of steel civil war. East coast VS West coast (FO:BOS) (as the main baddy)
Go the East coast brotherhood.

Trader options (fringes of RPG ing)
maybe post game during the Hint book phase of play
Get Your Convoy from town to town buy low sell high Kill your competitors and frame them for the fire in the towns granary that happened just before you got in town with 3 truck loads of Competitor on a stick.

Build your own town (long held fallout pipe dream)
even made 128 maps for BOS to try and model this. HDD died and was then thrown into wall.

Start location
Cryogenics vats, "You have just stepped out of the Vat" the computer says you need to get a mcguffin from vault 13 or all the people here will die (including your family)
Player "why does my jump suit have a 13 on the back?"
Computer "The Suits are labeled sequentially"
Player "So there are 12 people to help me?"
Computer "No"
Player "what do you mean?"
Computer "The first 3 failed to survive reawakening, the next two burnt to death before I realised that Cyro gel is flammable, The next 5 after that met there deaths in various ways on the journey to the surface, The next one was killed by raiders upon exiting the facility so I gave the last of the functioning turbo plasma rifles to the next guy, he then exited the facility took over the raiders destroyed three small towns one large town and vanished while leading an attack on a military out post."

Destroyable walls, doors, Entire floors of buildings (wish)
You could do it in UFO enemy unknown (lame argument)

Good dialoge!

The ability to get many results from a conversation including failure

No conversations that you don't have to read i.e. Click Click Click Click then Exit and look in journal for mission details

Modification of stuff
I want to put a sight (telescopic on my hunting rifle)
If I have the Gear (map item workbench maybe?)

Most quests very open on how they are completed
I will accept randomly generated fed-ex quests (just)

Very dynamic end game scene
Part movie , but lots of pics , and lots of text
Lots of stuff to do in game to influence the end story.
No BOS pick one of the four endings (you only have to save once at the end to see all the options bleh)

More than one playable race
Possibly as an "i've beaten the game and no unlocked the ghoul"
You will have to beat the game more than once to get the talking death claw.

Mobile towns
A location that is not fixed
E.g. you discover the monks of knowledge who operate the "library" a collection of fairly high tech large transports that slowly scours the waste looking for books and all forms of knowledge.
Who knows the lead monk may be very broad of shoulder, wear a course brown robe, mourn the death of his species, answer to the name Goris and surprise the shit out of anyone who attacks the monks and who hasn't played F2.

Reward and punish exeptional stats.

Allow stats of up to 12, 14 or even 16(but not at start, racial variation accepted)

Maybe more options at Character creation
including starting perks
trade a skill tag for attribute points or another trait or perk or vice versa

set the characters starting inventory.
Yes you can start with a "wilkes mark one laser pistol" (nothing much more potent than that though)
but how long will that clip last?
or electronic lock picks at game start
(electronic lock picks should be required to pick an electronic lock. Electronic lock picks should be useless at picking a non electronic lock)

"Fist Full of dollars" play one side against the other quests

Weapons with character and points of difference. all the following are mid range assault rifles
This is the M68 assault rifle (the accurate and unreliable one)
This is the XM-324 Assault system (The inaccurate, unreliable and inordinantly powerful assault rifle)
This is the Glock K87 (The very reliable, fairly accurate, High damage, high rate of fire assault rifle .....with the very hard to come by ammunition)
This is the M105 (Very reliable, good damage, no burst fire, will accept rifle grenades)

I am starting to waffle

and hallucinate

I will now continue to waffle

Lots of accumulated statistics and details for you character giving a "history" of sorts

Beef up throwing

Dynamic changes in game world due to character interaction
These need be now more complex than Due to killing 100 slavers and 2 Rangers the chance of encountering slavers randomly is 20% less

More stuff on pipboy

More addons for Pipboy including such technological wonders as "RADAR" and the use of "COMPUTER POWERED LOGIC" to answer questions

a conversation tree with the pip boy could be cool

end waffle mode enabled

I don't know what East Coast Brotherhood and West Coast Brotherhood are, but they sound like something from Fallout Craptics. Since Tactics contradicts Fallout canon in countless ways, developers would need to be utterly retarded to regard anything in that turd of a game as part of the canon.

You completely miss what Fallout is about.

What would be the point?
