New animations 2

Killap, if you read this, would you perhaps consider adding this as an extra in the RP installer (overwrite the police critter)? that'd be nice. :)
Critter variation is always good in my book. I'll consider this.

Well if you're considering the blue Combat Armor for NCR Police, then perhaps you may also consider black Combat Armor for the Enclave guards at Navarro?

Minor change, but they fit in better around there.

It's a too shiny Slug, watch your eyes! Lisac2k is already blind!
Fixed.

Just kidding, nice to see people finally working on some new critters. What I find tiresome is:
a) the work in 2D, aligning frames, setting the animation path and coordinates of each frame and similar
b) those fancy animations, most of them representing different ways to die. They look awesome once you finish them i.e. do them properly, so they fit. Reference: x'ils' last post, the last paragraph.

Now, if anyone is willing to crack those hard nuts on his own, I take my hat off.

Hey I'm not sure this is the correct place to ask this so please direct me somewhere else if I'm posting in the wrong place! Thanks. My question is I want to use the "Khan" model for the player character and not have equipped armor appear on his portrait. I'm playing melee so he's got all the animations I need. Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows me how to rename the files in order to get it working with the "hero appearance" in sfall? By the way these animations are like incredible and I went through this thread an another older one and was totally blown away :D

@Stevenocracy

I just might consider the black critter model for Navarro as well. I only see the female set in the first post of the thread. Where is the male set?

I am finished with my critter. I went as far as I wanted with the animations until I got bored. I probably got bored because I only put forth the effort for the animations I wanted for it, and not needed for it.

Would anyone be interested in me packaging up the FRMs or something?

I will be moving onto a different critter, which I hope to spend more time on than this one.

Sincerely
Prosper

Pixote's and Continuum's sarcastic commentary in my topics, is easy for me to associate with the word discourtesy.
And what the fuck have you expect after posting all this crap? Are you blind or something? And I'm not talking about dinosaur thingy only. I didn't bother to comment "talking head" (?) you have sent me via PM one, or two years ago, because I'm keeping my mouth shut and not commenting others people work, but enough is enough - dig yourself into the deepest hole, learn something and come back if you want to be treated seriously.

Or maybe you're just trolling?

I just learned how BUMP maps are used... I think soon I can produce that quality, detail, and style of art that fits well into fallout 2.

Should I really go hide in a hole? Or would that be too extreme?

Hi Warger.

I have some of the black dude animations finished already, and some were done by brother_soifran. You may check it out and see if those are of any use to you.

I have uploaded them here.

No, it's not going to be extreme. Every professional artist is taking a shovel, going outside, digging the hole, sitting and meditating three months without food and water there. It's not possible to learn without it. Didn't you know about that? :o

Also, can you post your OUTSTANDING works in one thread, instead of flooding ALL possible ones? Will be much easier to view and discuss it there.

It is good that though someone has told it.
My knowledge of English would not suffice - what to express that I think.
:D

I doubt that you need to have bump maps to create good looking Fallout graphics. The details are so marginal, it's just not needed. It's easier to produce a basic model and paint over it later by hand.

I apologize if I have offended you Prosper, if you have only been modeling for 3 or 4 days, then I salute you efforts. People are sometimes playful with a thread like this  , but with some time and effort you will make much better work…it’s a learning process. I don’t consider myself very good at 3d modeling, but I only built simple shapes, nothing as complex as a full critter, so in that regard you are ahead of me.

If you try to follow the original models movement as close as possible, then you are half way there, the same with the modeling and textures. It is not easy, and that’s why very few people have attempted it.

- Who built the black critter set, I believe some of the frames (white skin to black) were changed with a color replacement filter, and that wasn’t the best technique to use. Many of the necessary color tones in flash weapons, on the actual armors were lost with this method.

All animations of this critter take away here.

Holly shit! Why are you guys speaking about something else as this?
Is that all the animation for the black jumpsuit? Thats great, that leave "only" the leather and the metal armor to do. Could someone reupload the link with a more friendly uploader? This one deleted the file and only let me read a letter to the president of Mother Federation...

Clear and concise! So when it comes to new animations, they should not be custom really. They should be identical to the game's original animations so not to alienate the them.

Some things you may wish to know about Blender:

2.5x crashes too often . 249 is much more stable!! 249 also has a better documented API... which brings me to this... I am going to concentrate on creating a script to help others and myself export animation frames for Fallout 2. For example if a genuine walk animation is setup in any of the 6 directions, it can be rendered out in the remaining without any manual rotation of the camera. Also it may be possible to pre-configure multiple output directories (folders) for this and file naming conventions we desire.

If such a script has been already made, I have never seen it while searching these forums... I will begin now picking up on python quickly so we can get some solutions to our problems.

@MrLexx, BUMP Maps in Zbrush are extremely easy to create and can produce amazing detail in my opinion. Also it is probably a best PRACTICE for a person to do even if much of the detail is eliminated in the final render.

@MrLexx * 2, correct me if I am wrong, but your Fonline 2238 engine supports BUMP maps or something of the sort yes? If not, then maybe it is something to consider looking into if you haven't already. I say this because you have posted a topic announcing Fonline maturing from 2D into something more. (3D or still 2.5D ?)

It's totally ludicrous.
I can explain why, but I think: do not feed the troll.
Problem in model.

What is ludicrous about having a highly detailed mesh ready for any purpose or future fallout games or clones which can support the detail?

I spoke about Bump. Bump will not correct bad animation or a mesh, wrong rendering.
Listen to advice of Continuum.
