New animations 2

Make one and the others are easy…just use layers and masking in Photoshop. I’m pretty busy at the moment with Mutants Rising, but I’ll finish both the male and female – as well as Mr. Long Hair and Mr. Blackie…and because I’m totally insane lets toss in Mr. Baldie…

It won’t make it in time for RP 2.1, but maybe Killap will add it to RP 2.2…fingers crossed.

Solid commitment! +

I'm good with Photoshop (and it's time-saving batch-editing features), but fail when it comes to getting the right FRMs exported in an organised way. If I had all the JPG/BMPs and just had to add the gloves it would be fairly easy. But then again, I'm not sure how to neatly put it back into FRM.

Got a bunch of programs, but find them a little confusing - and there is more than a few programs out there... Which ones do you use to turn FRMs to editable image files and back into FRM?

OK, I wanted to check the doability, so I made some frame model for the south east direction, and it doesn't take much more time than the regular new critter. I made it realy quickly so there are some flaws here and here. I am not sure I will complete it yet cause of lack of time, but I am quite fond of it now, so I might do some frame here and here till it finish itself... :D

@SkuLL
probably the ones already mentioned in several modding guides over the past several years.
Ouch. You got me. More of a personal question to .Pixote., but a wicked burn nonetheless, Prosper!

Check out Lisac's excellent tutorial vids here
Those are pretty good, thanks! [EDIT: They actually explain exactly what I was having problems with, so more than pretty good! Thanks again, I should have checked the wikia more thoroughly.]

Man, you just made my day. Of course, some frames and details could be tweaked a bit, but it looks aaaaaawesome. Awesome. Definitely awesome.

Maybe I forgot to say you did an awesome work?

I agree. Looks good to me and I would love to have this as replacement for the original Fallout 2 mobsters. :) The tommy gun not so much, generic rifle would be better imo.

And I like this one as well, btw.

If you recolor his pants or hair, you could make various different looking critters as well. :>

Thanks guys. I think I am going to complete one direction each month, so in 6 month from now, there should be a new mobster around, probably with the regular rifle and the tommy gun, since I need to do the normal rifle anyway to make the other one.
I realised the f2 mobster doesn't have a kick animation, but reuse the punch one instead. I wonder do I need to do a new kick animation, or just reuse the punch like the punch?

Now i also want to see a black boxer btw

:D

Is this any good?

I think now I've got the hang of it. In the next few days I'd like to make a distinctly black boxer and a distinctly white boxer.

I don't like the weird tint that is being used right now:

I think it would look superbadass if the hat fell slowly rather than quickly vanish. Maybe if it even ended up falling on top of him.

Still, amazing work.

Amazing work for sure. It is rare for people to release animations that feature a classic bloody death from a gun burst, but then slip on a banana peel.

If you knew just a little about fallout (you know, this game this forum is about?), you'd know this animation is based on the original one.
Prosper, I don't know what's with you lately, but you need either to calm down or get banned.

Thanks!
The thing with the hat is that it doesn't fit in the frame, so I had to make it disapear (making the frame bigger mean screwing with the offset, and I am not god at that). But I could make it fall slowly behind the corpse then Mademan would collapse on it.

I don't think, that the vanishing hat is a problem. In fact, in the game later, it would be so fast, you wouldn't notice anyway.

Agreed. Having the hat fall could be cool if done right, but I imagine it would be very difficult to pull off well, and probably isn't worth the effort. It looks great as is.

Maybe make it fly off a bit later - after a few bullets hit him. But even as it is, I think it will look good in game. It's a stunner, can't wait!

On another note, how's the blackness of this fella?

I'm actually enjoying this. Anyone got any suggestions on what character they'd like to see and/or need some help with anything?

Screw the original gorillas these guys are much better…but it would be nice to keep one or two of the original bodyguards for Bishop though, that way they don’t disappear completely…nice one Grayswandir. The only problem and it’s the same problem that faces the original gorillas – do they suit the setting of a wasteland like Fallout. Their appearance looks very clean and manicured, but regardless I would want to see them replace the originals.

I think I'm going to look into how this is all done, from what I've seen so far it seems like a pretty time consuming process, but it might be fun to make some custom animations :)

Also, really awesome stuff guys!

Could someone please re-post Grayswandir's critter example(s) using a different image host? :lalala:
