New animations 2

BTW, doesn't anybody think that some of the tribals should be black ? The black tribal spearman animation would serve well here.

Arroyo head warrior/hunter could be "A tall muscular black man, the greatest hunter you've ever known in your life !!" *dramatic lightningflash*

It's just - the States have a 'pretty decent' black population (wikipedia tells me that in 1950s 10% of the population were black and in 2000 10% of the blacks lived in the West, so you could say that a million blacks were there during the fictional WW3) and why should all tribals be white - the vaults had black people too, or there could be a black tribal village

EDIT: also

two sleeves anyone ?

Wow, nice!

The first two animations should play slower IMO (but maybe they play slower in game and I am an idiot).

^Heh, yeah, it's not that strong a difference: the skirt is a different color as well as some gray tones here and there on the 'top' part.

Not strong difference but still one more variation for the townsfolk, nice. Right now I've been thinking I guess it would be quite good to create a psd file for the frames of some chars that have few anims I think children are like that I think I posted some pics like that... creating layers for every part that needs recolor then save it in psd later use a script which gives the desired color tone for the bodyparts and saves it in bmp then convert the whole mass to frm change some parameters in the script and create another one... and another....
The problem is its a long monotonous work.

Please, make some total rednecks when you've time, x'il. Shabby clothes, weirdly colored clothing and more.

Yeah, i tried that for the black guy peasant, made this two variations (though there could be X amount of them):

--- --- ---

But just one FRM and i found it just as boring and uninspiring as re-painting them one at a time... the child critter has 41 frm's, for me, that's too much for some simple tonwsfolk critter (like i said it bored me after just one).

I really like those re-colors. How long does it take to do one frm? I always wondered why BIS didn't just have a team of 2-3 artists come up with like 10 different human types and then do tons of re-colorings. It has to be faster to re-color than make a completely new critter. Rendering critters a different color to make up for lack of time is a classic solution.

Didn't they actually do a 3D model for all of these beforehand, or is this all.. manufacture-art ? Cause with 3D the whole texture could be changed, giving very fast colour variations for all frames etc. But they didn't..

Yeah, just ask the Mortal Kombat team.

I swear Mortal Kombat 2 had like a dozen characters that were the same ninja recolored.

Those are fucking worthy, especially the first one.

The first one's top notch no matter from which angle you look at it, but the second one's pants are slightly too bright green in my eyes, and the shirt could do with some contrast around the collar to better make out the border between the skin and the shirt, which is only slightly more yellow than the skin and exactly the same tone

Seconded.

I really like the new variations in general. The same old sprites may bring more life to the original Fallouts with just a few new colours, yes sir. Keep up, don't stop!

Haha, true, at the top of my head i can remember about eight of them, both male and female ninjas.

Yeah, the first one looks real nice, but in all probability it's not gonna happen; can't be automated.

Here's separate Bald Dude download links for anyone who may want to use them for NPC's:

Very cool! Could you possibly do the same with Long Hair Dude? Anyway, thanks a lot!

Man that's cool! Hou about a black dude as well? I've always wanted to use it to replace Vic's fat model (nothing against fat people, I'm a bit fat btw)

added a batch rename utility to my site, may be useful for your critter builders, command line and 2 configuration files, allows renaming of one folder,or one folder and all its subdirectories, extensions filters, can save the words used for one run in a different file then when the same are needed again simply change the file pointer to that file again, welcome to do what ever you want with it(as always)questions just ask(i am not that verbose in readme's)

edit : both replace and rename tools are now case insensitive, not just extensions, all of the search functions

happy building!
